Another thing I tried out once and will try again is using the frequent flyer lounge access.

I have elite status which means I not only get to use the premium / business class lounges, but I also get to bring a guest.

Some airports have really fine lounges. Istanbul, Frankfurt, Munich, Copenhagen, London, LA, HK, Bangkok, Tokyo, etc.

This works better on a flight bound for your home turf, but the idea is that you pick an attractive female traveling alone, use your guest invite to take her into the lounge, and you get an easy way in that you can build with a followup date after you land.

It is zero cost, and there is no downside since the worst that happens is you while away some time practicing with an attractive female.

you could also use it to make an instant friend in the destination you are headed for, assuming you will have time when you get there. which usually for me is not the case since i travel largely for work/business

I use a lounge just about every time I fly and I've never once had the opportunity to invite a girl in with me. How're you angling to meet someone for this?

I'm now on Star Alliance but was Sky Team previously. Have been for a while though this only occurred to me recently (after being newly single after years in a LTR)

I was on a New York - Tokyo flight at EWR when I noticed a cute girl in the economy class queue. I queued up behind her (instead of the elite/business queue) and we started chatting and I invited her to join me at the lounge. If you use EWR a lot, you know what I mean when I say skip United Club in favor of the Air Canada lounge.

She was thrilled to get into the lounge - some free grub and free drinks to loosen up. She was a pianist and very religious. She asked me for my number but I didn't call her because she was (a) desperate to land a husband, she was older than she looked. (b) super religious.
But I will be in her city again in a month or so and may rethink about it.

Speaking of that - how would you deal with a super religious person looking to land a husband? Walk away or go for the flag anyway (never got my Argentine)

Back on topic, the challenge is to consistently get a girl you like to invite. How I would do it in future is check in first, and then hang out at the back of the lines to do my emails and messages until I see the right target, and then open her with 'Do you know where the boarding gate is?'

You're already pre-approved to a degree as somebody of status. I've made some interesting connection in Airports lounges, the best in Asia. It is however completely random as the clientele is transient by nature and you can't make any preparations.

Yeah I have never seen a beautiful single woman in one of the lounges. They are either with me, or some other guy.

But like Vicious already mentioned, they are great places to have inspiring conversations with other business minded hustlers. Or, to have depressing conversations with men who hate their lives/wives and job.

idea is not to snipe women who are already in the lounge

rather, find a looker who does not have lounge access and use your guest invite to bring her in
