Green Latern's different, as that's more of a job title than a particular character. Several characters have held the position of GL, including John Stewart (a black character from the get-go).

There's 500 to 1,000+ years between this and the time of Moses and Ramses II, the pharaoh in reference (claimed to have fair skin and red hair). During which time Egypt was conquered by several different groups.

Not to mention those mummies were not pharaohs, or they would have been described as such. It's like using my ancestry to prove Obama's.

This DNA was pulled directly from Ramses III, not "five Egyptian mummies". The pharaoh in question in the posts you quoted was Ramses II.

They've also found that the other pharaohs they tested from that time period, including Tutankhamun, had similar DNA. Not to mention severe sickle cell disease being found in many of these pharoahs' mummies. Tut is now believed to have died from this, which originates and is vastly more prevalent in Africans.

Egypt was multicultural and a melting pot and particularly later dynasties had Nubian and Sub-Sahara influence, maybe even pure Nubian rulers. The earlier dynasties however, were almost certainly not, they might - as King Tuts DNA suggests, even have been of Indo-European admixture at least.

Did you even read this? That Swedish study does not refer to actual DNA testing, but them making assumptions based on images of him.

There is a French movie called "The Intouchables" about a quadriplegic man and his caregiver. In real life the man was a white Frenchman, and the caregiver was Arabic. In the movie the caregiver is black.

I had a point to make but I forgot what is was after I googled how to spell "Intouchables" so interpret what I said above however you want haha.

I confirm this.

They had to cast a minority for this because it's the whole point of the history: minority, problems with the police, improves himself and befriends another guy who is alone. It just happens that Omar Sy, the black guy, was the raising cinema star at the time, and comes from a similar background (minus the prison and police).
However this is not shocking because the race is totally irrelevant. The main point ( minority guy vs rich but tetraplegic guy is there).

So you can't totally compare Intouchables with this particular case.

Personally I think being offended by this is not really the best thing to do, at least until you've seen the film.

Same for that ghostbuster movie. Who knows, maybe these women will end up making you fall from your seat out of laughter (slim chances, but who knows).

Uh, to me the biggest problem is suspension of disbelief.

There's no way I can suspend disbelief enough to pretend that the black guy and white girl are biological siblings from the same two parents. It's blatant PC pandering. Forget about race... at least try to make the damn brother and sister look alike. Sheesh.

Also, I'll be looking forward to a new movie with Chris Hemsworth as Shaka Zulu.

In the movie Black Knight staring Martin Lawrence, the chamber maid played by Marsha Thomason is black (the only other black person in the movie), cause god forbid Martin fall in love with a white women.

Also in the movie How High, Method Man (or Redman, I forget), falls for the Presidents daughter who is black and played by Essence Atkins Which is cool except that the President is white. Cause god forbid theres a black president or a black guy fucking the white presidents daughter.....oh the horrors.

It would have been a better idea just to make Mr.Fantastic Black for the token minority character as it's just wierd to me to have a Black Johnny Storm with a White sister.

And it would be a better race troll by Fox to have a Black lead with a White wife which would really cause a large amount of controversy and buzz for the film.

But looking at the trailer. It just looks like an Interstellar wannabe and won't get the sales of Marvel Studio films as it lacks that pizzazz factor.

It is amusing that whites have dominated the movies in America since theaters were built and guys here are getting mad over a damn comic book character being switched to black.
