I get this all the time. My response is always just "No " or "Why would I miss you? I just saw you".

Every now and then I get 'The talk' which always goes the same:

I'm always very cautious not to portray any sort of neediness BUT…

I don't put enough effort into game to claim any sort of expertise but it does seem to work. I control the interaction without being so harsh as to make her upset. That's the tight rope I think we're all shooting for.

I got this one today.
