Bump. I'll re-visiting Belgrade at the end of the month for a competition. Anybody there atm? I'm looking for some recommendations on good hipster/rocks bars for winter?

I only know the splav scene in summer.

Hey naughty, you can check this guide for Belgrade nightlife. My personal favorite clubs that dont offer local music are 20/44 and Drugstore.

Dont forget to check Polet(Retro music) and Kinky bar (Gotic, EBM, Techno and fetish nights).

And for rock there is Tranzit blues rock caffe.

Just returned from Belgrade.

Beware of taxis in Belgrade. They will rip you off. It starts at the airport.

I got a tip from a local girl I met on the plane. Solid logistics is key.

Use this taxi company until Uber arrives. They take Visa, have wifi in the car, you can book on Twitter... They have their shit together and executing a commodity business with great service.

They speak English and have great customer service. This is the way companies should operate (doesn't matter on geography). I had a great experience with them.

Try them and share your experience.

The airport has a taxi desk where they give you a ticket depending on where youre going. If I recall correctly it's 1800 to the center.

Now on the way back to airport the ride was 1700 which was a reasonable difference.

Never tried your recommendation but the app taxify works good there. Also the company pink taxi is reliable and has the best rates I found and drivers are all respectable.

You can find them parked roadside all over the center notably in front of moskva hotel and down from marriot and such.

I did take a random taxi out of the club once and was ripped off royally and he did the bill switch scam.

As far as quality, IMO Balkan chicks are the best in the world and Belgrade is the epicenter. Other tidbits from my time there:

-Belgrade has the most 8s, 9s, and 10s in the world per capita. It's a small city, but it's crawling with smokeshows.

-Vodka and that grape liquor they drink (tastes like shit) are very cheap. Vodka that was comparable to Absolut in quality was around $5 for a fifth.

I don't do much daygame, so I hit the splavs most nights of the week. Drinks are expensive and there are lots of groups so it wasn't too enjoyable rolling solo.

Hitting the splavs with a group of friends, however, would be pretty epic.
