Happens with Game and Self-Improvement, too.

If you're too worried that people will "see through you" if you try to learn Game, then you'll never learn Game. And if you're too scared that people will doubt you because of who you were one, two, five, ten, twenty, or even thirty years ago, then you'll never self-improve.

But the scary and funny part is that there's No One inside of you for them to see when you worry about being seen through. To the new people you meet, how you behave using Game *IS* who you are. So the funny, brash, don't-give-a-fuck man they see *IS* The Real You, no matter how different that guy may be from who you are now, first trying to learn Game.

DeAngelo said it perfectly about Gatsby. "He couldn't get serious with the story" - so he came off like a bad actor. But he couldn't get serious with the story because his meaningless questions like, "Is this the real me?" prevented him from giving himself permission to change. That's stupid, because you don't need anyone's permission to change, not even your own damn permission. You just change.

And anyone objecting to your changes needs to go. They're holding you back....and it's not because they care about you. They're just scared that your improvement will render them irrelevant. So they make themselves *more relevant* than your future happiness by blocking your requisite changes. Fuck them. For your own damn sake, and for all that's good, beautiful and right, fuck them.

Is the greatest show of all time in my opinion. I know people rave about breaking bad, but shit like that rarely happens. What goes on in the wire goes on every, single, day. Its shows every reason why we should legalize drugs in the United States as well.

I really believe on of omar little quotes pertains to the abundance mentality in game. '"The game is out there, and its either play or get played ". This quote really gets me through the rejections and flakes.

Also, for those who haven't seen the show and plan to start-
A) It's very good and easily one of the best shows ever made
B) It's VERY DETAIL ORIENTATED
C) It's NOT your average cop show. Imagine a cop show where paperwork is the main focus
D)After the first episode you may find yourself saying, "Nothing happened".

It's definitely one of the first pioneered shows where each season was a 'self-contained' storyline. Even though that's the norm nowadays, it was just starting up back then. It's not for everyone, but it's worth it. The show has a sense of realism that very few shows will ever accomplish.

The Greeks are my favorite characters in the show. Omar, prop joe, and stringer are the shit, but the Greeks are the real deal.

Those fools were running far more shit than anyone in the series and they weren't even close to being caught. The real OG's. Big reason why season 2 is my favorite season.

And all I can say to this is: keep watching, you'll get it eventually. (It took me about 3 episodes). The show's style is that you are basically dropped right into the middle of an ongoing story and you have to catch up. At first, it's really hard to know which characters are important, what's at stake, and why things happen. If you go back and watch those early episodes after watching a season or two, you'll find them very easy to follow and that plenty of interesting things happen.

I thought so, too. The Greeks had the right connections and controlled everything. I think season two is way underrated. The dock workers were very interesting, too.

I never really watched the show very much, but when they were filming the first season, I walked onto the set when I was walking into a strip club called the Ritz, which they renamed "Orlando's" just for purposes of the show. I hate cameras and they didn't film me walking into the place or inside the place. I'm pretty sure they would have asked me permission if they planned to film me. The last thing I need is for the whole world to see me walking into or inside of a strip club. That kind of stuff happens to me a lot. Last week, they were filming some T.V. show and asked me if I wanted to be filmed and I said no. Some girl with a good body, but who was kind of a butterface then walked up to me, started to give me all kinds of indicators of interest, then told them to film her. I was in a rush and got out of there.

Oh I know - I've just heard that reaction from a lot of people - and I even had the same one myself.

A LOT really does happen in the first episode - however a lot of doesn't get paid off until the end of the season. "Nicely done" "When they ask you where you don't want to go" etc. There is one scene in the last episode where everything clicked in place for me and I started to see how "everything matters".

It's a VERY dense first few episodes and the only show I've seen come close in complexity is Game of Thrones. Both shows start off by throwing the viewer into the middle of the show.

I don't think it's a coincidence since both shows are as much about a place as they are about story or characters. Game of Thrones is about Westeros and The Wire is about The City of Baltimore. GoT characters are vivid and colorful, while The Wire characters are subtle and real, but they both serve the same purpose as windows to the world.

Just got through Season 3 and loving this show. I was a big fan of "Homicide" which was also a crime series based in Baltimore and had some of the writers from The Wire I believe.

I'd say my favorite characters are Lester and Bunk, then maybe McNulty. But there are just so many interesting plot lines and characters in the show it's almost amazing they have kept it all together so far. Season two was a nice change of pace really and season three is darn good too.

I will say that the whole "progressive gay" things sort of pisses me off in that it's totally blue pill, unnecessary and often contrived and put in there for no reason, but hey, it's Hollywood.

I have to say when Stringer got killed it really, really bummed me out as he is such an interesting character and really moved the plot along, esp. when Avon was in prison. So I'm sort of like "what's next?" and worry that it can only go downhill. Not happy he won't be in the show anymore and wondering where they go from here? So please tell me Season 4 is as good as the first three?
