RE: Advice on Bogota...
I've noticed on a previous thread I read awhile ago about websites like Colombian Cupid & Latinamerican Cupid that they are well worth the investment if your going to Colombia. Any truth to this, would be interesting to hear people's experiences with these sites?

I don't have personal experience with those sites but I imagine that they are worth spending a few hours on for pipelining. Colombians are flaky so for every 10 girls with whom you engage, you'll meet up with maybe one or two.

If Colombian-Americans are any indication, I bet the girls in the homeland have plentiful behinds. May just have to check this country out ($350-400 RT flights from my city).

Having just spent a couple of hours here I can't give many comments yet, but will let you know.

I lived over a year in Bogota, and stayed all of that time in La Candelaria. For my money, it's the best neighborhood in the city. It has beautiful colonial architecture, amazing graffiti, is cheap as hell, and is swarming with young college girls. Of course there are some dodgy areas, but don't forget that the President lives there. I stayed just off Plaza de Bolivar (gorgeous and great for pick up by the way), and there were armed soldiers on the corners every night. It was literally the safest part of the city. I paid $350 for a gigantic room with a floor to ceiling window.

My advice for you if you're still in La Candelaria:

1) Do the Bogota graffiti tour (http://bogotagraffiti.com). As I'm sure you've already noticed, the street art down there is among the best in the world. This tour is amazing and well worth whatever you decide to tip.

2) Check out El Candelario club. When I was there a few years ago, this was the best place in the city to pick up college girls.

3) Day game in Plaza Bolivar. There is a constant stream of people moving through, so targets abound. And even if you come up empty-handed, it's one of the coolest areas of the city.

La Candelaria is where I lived man, it is a good spot if you are into the grimier side if things. Check out El Goce Pagano too, it was a few years ago, but that place was always bumpjn for cute chicks.

For the classic grimy Bogita dive, Donde Ceci, aka Doña Ceci, is the spot for $1 beers.

Thank me later.

I second this. Did this a few years ago and had a great time.

That was really bad advice, at least as far is PU is concerned.

We went there yesterday night, NYE. While the food is great and the place has a really nice atmosphere, it is horrible for PU on NYE. All of the chicks were there with family and just wanted to be left alone. As far as I can remember, these were the worst reactions I got since starting my South American Tour.

Also, it was really expensive to go there and back by taxi, cause the place is outside of Bogota. And of course they charged a lot for the entry on NYE.

I can imagine that it could be a good place on regular evenings.

So on my budget of $28,004.58 USD which area of Bogota would be best recommended to stay in? So far heard positive comments on Chapinero, La Candelaria & Parque Virrey?

& I'll make sure to stay away from ANDRES CARNE DE RES next new years Lol

Alex seems you are trolling man. Stating to the penny how much money you have and asking questions where there is loads of information on the board and all you have to do is read is pushing it. Gloating and ignorance on here is one thing, in Colombia ,,,well let's just say it's not the USA or Canada etc.

colombia aside from the coast is a no go time during Christmas and NYE. Many of the girls are either on vacation with their family or sponsors. All until the end of January.

No I just converted from what I will have roughly in GBP into dollars, as it seems most people on here are either based from USA or Canada. Apologizes if that's how it came across.

Appreciate all the info though!!

Cool....

Alex, don't flash wealth or claim to have it in Colombia. They will assume you have some being a foreigner, but showing you have more etc, well use caution. You will be fine,,,,, learn español.

Candelaria is not at all the most dangerous part of the city. The most expensive universities in the country are located there, and it's actually a good spot since people to frequient there tend to be students and alternative crew and open to new stuff.

La Candelaria is actually a very odd case, as it's the historic city center with very nice houses, universities, the President's palace, etc... but at the same time it's the most dangerous part of the city and really shabby in big parts. Usually, the bad neighbourhood of a city is not concentrated around the government buildings, so this is really a rare case.

My buddy said that it might be because the higher social classes moved away from the area 20 or 30 years ago when all that terror took place here, like rebel groups blowing up the ministry of justice. Can anybody comment on why that anomaly of a neighbourhood exists?

They are absolutely worth your time, I have fucked many chicks from online dating on this trip. However, nightgame and daygame are also absolutely worth your time, and online game IS time consuming.

Also, you need some game to get the hotter ones - it's easy, but that doesn't mean they jump on your cock right away. I have the feeling that speaking Spanish helps a lot to get the hotter ones. Blue eyes and a brighter look help as well.

I had a lot of rich local friends who go to college everyday there. Look for the outskirt places like Usme, Ciudad Bolivar, Kennedy etc. people from high classes or even middle classes are terrified of go there even during the day. Candelaria is first world compared to that, young students go there to drink after school, families go to the museums, libraries, etc.

Of course is not the best neighborhood to be arround either, but the place itself is just a part of the center of the city, and is one of the most decent parts there, if you don't know where are you going you can find some really ugly neighborhoods around though.

I'm curious about online gaming, but being myself hispanic i don't think would be a good investment, i feel like that pages are more white groupies gringolovers oriented?

RE: Advice on Bogota...
What types of phone apps do the girls primarily use in Colombia? I know when I was in Manila, Viber was huge. Everyone uses Viber in the Phils. Very few women use WhatsApp. Though in Europe, WhatsApp is the big phone app they use for messaging and what not. Do they use Viber or WhatsApp in Colombia? Or do they use some of the lesser known/used messaging apps?

Also, how is Tinder in Colombia?

Ok, maybe La Candelaria is not the most dangerous part of town, I don't prentend to be an expert on Bogota, hehe! But for OPs purpose: Candelaria is fucking dangerous at night, don't go there at night and definitely don't rent your apartment there.

And I will give you another good reason not to rent a place there: No girl wants to come to that area at night, you will have to meet them all far from your place! Some chicks don't even want to meet up there during the day.

In regards to online dating: Yes, many chicks love the gringo factor and told me so. But I don't think this is true for all of them, to some it didn't matter much where I came from. As I'm gringo, I can't help you out any further on this.

Everyone uses whats app. I had a local cell phone in case I needed to call a girl when i didn't have wifi. However, most of my communication in Colombia was on Whats app.

I have stayed in La Candelaria. It is fine during the day, but a night it can be deserted and dangerous depending on the street. This remains the main place that backpackers stay due to cheap hostels. I will not stay there again.

I don't know if this will factor into the decision-making process for the OP, but La Candelaria is known as the place where the backpackers go. It could potentially limit one's ability to meet and develop social-circles with middle/upper class girls as they will quickly assume you are a backpacker/poor traveler and lose interest. Good looks could make anything possible though.

That being said, it would be the place to go to meet other travelers, and is certainly less boring than the Norte.

No problem! i was just commenting that i don't think it is so bad choice.

A lot of girls of the north wouldn't go to candelaria due to dangerous sorrounding neighborhoods in the center, and the fact that is far away from their homes, that is true, also the nightlife is concentrated in Zona Rosa, you find full bars in candelaria but it's mostly in the evenings after college or the clubs for the electronic scene.

I suppose that you were going for more mature girls if you used mostly online, but if you are gaming the girls that go to college in candelaria, you shouldn't have that problem, maybe you didn't experienced that perk because they were on vacation at the time. Anyway i don't know if i would recommend it either, the girls who study there are usually the hottest but the snobbiest girls from the city.

I still agree with you that it is not the best spot, if you want better logisitics and being able to walk without worrying about being mugged, you are better in the north side, the part where chapinero and the center meets was my favorite though.
