RE: Johnny Depp 51 to wed Amber Heard 27
Amber Heard is hot as hell, no doubt, but something about her recalls a slightly older, sexy Miley Cyrus. Particularly that photo on the right. And even though the actual age difference is pretty huge, her age itself isn't that young. Time passes by, then all of the sudden she's in her thirties.
Johnny Depp is an actor in the same league as George Clooney and Leonardo Dicaprio in terms of sex symbol status. We're talking he's one of the top 10 or 20 out of 4 billion human men on the planet Earth that women would kill to be with. You could show his picture to a girl in Tibet or India who just barely have an inkling about who he is and who can't even pronounce his name, and they'd jump at the chance to marry him. Can't even think of what kind of woman it'd take for me to marry if I were in his shoes.
So it can legitimately be said that he's underperforming for his weight class when he's wifing up Amber Heard. He can get someone prettier, younger, sexier, or even just prettier and sexier and of the same age as Heard.
As for the long-term results, I think this could end either way. First of all, you can't dismiss his record out of hand and maybe he's judged the situation with Heard and figures he's got this. The man is shockingly prescient. Look at the pictures of post-wall Vanessa Paradis. But Johnny Depp is still just a man. How many bullets can one man dodge?
Does he even have to dodge more bullets? He's Johnny Depp. The sheer fame of being such a pop culture icon may be enough? Amber Heard gets to be the one on his arm, something she can lord over literally millions of girls in the teens-to-late twenties age. She's stick around just because of the appeal to vanity alone.

The 'men have longer shelf-lives than women' argument is true, but it's not all good luck - it also means that men of all ages are competing for the same bracket of women.

RE: Johnny Depp 51 to wed Amber Heard 27
It seems silly to me that critics of Depp think that their frame has any remote similarity to a totally world famous, wealthy sex symbol male.
I can accept I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what it is like to be a Master of The Universe like that. NO idea whatsoever.
When sex with 9+ hot women is something that you have to ACTIVELY TURN DOWN, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
I think Johnny Depp knows he could easily, easily marry a 19 year old who will remain fresher looking than Amber. Or a sixteen year old in certain states.
I think Johnny Depp probably has a lawyer and a financial manager, dontcha?
And I'm sure he knows guys that have lost money in divorces.
My bet is Johnny Depp has opulent houses, 1954 Fender Stratocasters, a Yacht if he wants one, all the everyday shit he could possibly want to use already bought and paid for as well as at least 10 million invested in cash, as well as , despite the Lone Ranger, the ability to make 3 million easily in a film any time he wants.
I think what he is concerned with is the everyday emotional experience of living, and also of aging- because even millions can't keep you young--and being as comfortable as possible with the people around him, rather than preserving cash to buy more shit.
Women like being married, and I think it's impossible to "game" them out of that desire. "Oh baby, I really love you we don't need that piece of paper
cuz I'm one of the most famous actors in the world."
She might say yes, but she'll still WISH she was married to him.
Maybe there's an emotional component to the relationship that they want that marriage helps. ?
Nah, he's just got one-itis. If only someone who's a real player would explain to him how things really work...
"The goal of {amoral} capitalism is to reduce all human interaction to the cash nexus." L. D.

RE: Johnny Depp 51 to wed Amber Heard 27
Well, that didn't take long:
http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/mov...7311157273
(This thread was about engagement, but pretty sure all of you remember he went and married her.)
Quote:THE Pirates of the Caribbean set has been left high and dry again as star Johnny Depp is missing in action.
The actor, who anchors the $250 million production, failed to board his scheduled private charter flight from Los Angeles — and has now been missing for a week.
He was due to fly back to Brisbane last Monday so he could return to work on the Gold Coast set of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales when principal photography resumes today.
However, a senior production source said Depp was still in the US.
So why would Johnny be wanting to pull a Robert Downey Jr.? Hmmmm:
Quote:Cameras stopped rolling on the Walt Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer co-production last month after Depp injured himself at Mick Doohan’s luxurious Coomera compound on March 8-9.
Sources said Depp, who had been staying at the waterfront property since he arrived in Australia in late February, hurt his hand when he hit a glass door after a heated phone conversation with his new wife Amber Heard following a “weekend bender” with friends.
Depp returned to the US on March 11 to seek treatment and was initially expected to be back on deck Down Under two weeks later.
However, more than 200 crew members were subsequently stood down without pay when filming ground to a halt.
...
Heard, who turns 29 on Wednesday, was photographed at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York, on the weekend but Depp was nowhere to be seen.
Sounds like Johnny's not finding married life to a young fashionable bisexual all that it's cracked up to be.

RE: Johnny Depp 51 to wed Amber Heard 27
Just two words regarding fame, frame, money, and women: Paul McCartney.
He's among the richest men in the world, was in the most successful band in history, was the most popular member of that band when it came to women, wrote the most covered song of all time, "Yesterday," and was the driving force behind the album of all albums, Sgt. Pepper.
Hell, he even had a successful second act with Wings and then became a major concert draw later in life. And, from all accounts, McCartney was pretty Alpha with everyone even before the Beatles took off.
But...what happened when he married the wrong woman, Heather Mills? Shame, public humiliation, and a massive outflow of money he earned.
In the '70s McCartney might have hit the gossip columns, but that was over feuding with John Lennon and the other Beatles -- something that wasn't really a personal embarrassment because it was rooted in artistry, not everyday drama. His divorce with Heather Mills brought him personal public shame for the first time.
If this can happen to Paul McCartney, of all people, expect Johnny Depp to be body-slammed fifty times over.
All the stuff we say here about the carousel, wifing up sluts, and the like not only applies to famous men, but seems to count more. Our personal downfalls happen privately on a small scale. Theirs happen in front of the public on a grand scale...and are out on the Web forever in the gossip columns.
Fame might solve some problems. But it amplifies others. No matter who you are, the "tattooed, ex-lesbian, gay rights activist" might just be a problem.
Can we get a saying out of this? Instead of "We're all equal in the eyes of the reaper," how about "We're all equal in the eyes of the carousel." Or something.

Only point I'd have to this is that McCartney may have had the excuse of not knowing any better: his first marriage was long -- 1969 to 1998, after two short-ish relationships -- and unusual in its commitment. It's said he and his wife never spent a night apart in all those years, even with all the touring and everything else.
Depp does not have that excuse: aside from having a short marriage when he was young, he's screwed some of the prettiest women on the planet, including a four year relationship with Kate Moss. And at no point with Vanessa Paradis for over a decade could he convince her (or she him, who knows) to put a ring on it.

RE: Johnny Depp 51 to wed Amber Heard 27
Aaaaand just because it's a gift that keeps on giving:
http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/cel...7312756363
Quote:AMBER Heard’s close friendship with photographer Io Tillett Wright is causing drama in her marriage to Johnny Depp, it has been reported.
According to New York Post, Tillett is an activist in the gay and lesbian community who produced the notable project “Self Evident Truths,” portraits of more than 2000 subjects who identify themselves as “anything other than straight.” Depp and the openly bisexual Heard were married in February on Depp’s private island in the Bahamas, but sources tell us there are already “problems” in the marriage, in part due to Heard’s friendship with Wright.
Yup, Johnny's being played for his money:
Quote:Heard was spotted with Wright at the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book event in New York on Wednesday night, where spies said they looked cozy. Wright also posted a picture of the two together on her Tumblr feed on Friday, with the caption: “I am so proud of my love Amber Heard, for her performances, for defying stereotype, and for being a strong, out bisexual woman in a world that wants her to pick a team. It’s a big week for this birthday girl, and I’m so grateful to call her my family.”
And just to add insult to injury:
Quote:Wright, who lives in Brooklyn, posted a photo on Instagram on Tuesday of an unmade empty bed at the Bowery Hotel, where Heard was said to be staying this week. Wright included the caption: “The past and the future on either side you can’t see, a little slice of time for us to attach our fantasy narratives to.”
Trigger warning for anyone looking for pictures of Io Wright. S/he's like a concentration-camp version of Ellen DeGeneres. This is the problem with marrying a bisexual, you have to worry about both the women and the men she hangs out with.

RE: Johnny Depp 51 to wed Amber Heard 27
(12-23-2014 12:02 PM)Days of Broken Arrows Wrote: Depp may not have hit the wall physically, but I'm wondering if he's not mentally out to lunch and getting played. He's hitching himself to a woman who identified as a lesbian before she met him.
Amber Heard was in a relationship with a female photographer, Tasya van Ree, who she apparently dumped as soon as Depp appeared. Back in 2010, she "came out as a lesbian" in a high-profile, spectacular way: she did it at GLADD's 25th anniversary gala. (That quoted phrase is used in this CBS News article.)
Below is a photo of Heard and her ex-girlfriend, and here is an interview with her talking about how important it was she "come out." This is on the AfterEllen lesbian Web site:
"AfterEllen.com: What does it mean to you to be a part of this event tonight?
Amber Heard: I’m honored to be a part of GLAAD. I’ve long been a fan and long wanted to be a part of an organization as powerful, as influential and as important as GLAAD. I am acutely aware of the role that the media plays in influencing public opinion and influencing society, and with that awareness comes the burden of responsibility."
So what does this mean? Did she go "back in?" She didn't say she was bisexual, she said she was a lesbian. Could it be that she sensed a big payday in Depp?
Whatever the case, if she's bi: Bisexual women and gay men are the partners most likely to cheat according to several sources, notably this Examiner article in 2009:
Bi women and gay men were the most likely to cheat on their partners
Bi women were twice as likely to be drunk during sex than their straight or lesbian counterparts
Hope Depp had a good pre-nup drawn up and we won't be seeing him in a "celebrities who got played" thread.
![[Image: ambertasyaglaad.jpg]](http://cdn1-www.afterellen.com/assets/uploads/2010/12/ambertasyaglaad.jpg)
With our generation's idea of mating having shifted so rapidly, I'd argue most "liberal" women identify as being bisexual or somewhat bi. So...

Annnnnndd boom.
http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/cel...1c25caa1f7
Quote:Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depp, just three days after the actor’s mother died.
TMZ is reporting that actress and model Heard, 30, filed her divorce petition on Monday citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
Heard and Depp, 52, married in February of 2015 at a private civil ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.
TMZ reports that Heard is asking for spousal support, and that the couple had no prenuptual agreement.
Johnny has filed his response through his lawyer, Laura Wasser, and has asked the judge to reject Amber’s claim for spousal support.
That's roughly 18 months or so. Johnny Vampire didn't even get a prenup. Dumbest motherfucker ever, especially given he ditched Vanessa Paradis, the mother of his children, and his 14 year squeeze, in favour of this bisexual slut. Now she's going to milk him for millions when he's heading over the male Wall.
EDIT: And because it's important to keep score, I think we have to give the call on this one to Days of Broken Arrows, who was first to express doubt over Depp's mental state entering into this shit.
Remissas, discite, vivet.
God save us from people who mean well. -storm
