Controversial/Disturbing Movies? (NSFW)
Has any one seen any movies that left them speechless after?? I have seen Ken Park, I Stand Alone, Cannibal Hollocaust, Irreversible, Kids, A Clock Work Orange, Faces of Death, Human Centipede, Serbian Film maybe I am missing some from my mental memory but a lot of the list makers. Well the only one that made me really scratch my head has been Salo or the 120 Days of Sodom. I didnt think it was particulary good (directed by a European faggot) but it was pretty weird

Quote:Set in the Nazi-controlled, northern Italian state of Salo in 1944, four dignitaries round up sixteen perfect specimens of youth and take them together with guards, servants and studs to a palace near Marzabotto. In addition, there are four middle-aged women: three of whom recount arousing stories whilst the fourth accompanies on the piano. The story is largely taken up with their recounting the stories of Dante and De Sade: the Circle of Manias, the Circle of Shit and the Circle of Blood. Following this, the youths are executed whilst each libertine takes his turn as voyeur.

I have noticed that many disturbing films are not particulary good and hard to sit through because they just plain out suck

I thought Event Horizon was mindfuck.

Antichrist is a good movie, disturbing because of its commentary on the dark and savage side of human nature, female nature specifically

There are a few movies with the title Antichrist. Which one? The most recent is 2004.

He probably is referring to the one with William Defoe (under rated actor!)

Downloading now Vinman. I don't want to say if you want to see a rape movie but if you want to see a fucked up movie about prison life then American Me is accurate which unfortunately includes that horrible crime..

"According to 60 Minutes (1968), three people who acted as consultants on this film were later murdered because of the depiction of a homosexual rape scene that reportedly deeply offended the Mexican Mafia's machismo."

Its not too often that I have to stop watching a film because it freaks me out too much but I couldn't watch Short Bus, a very sexually graphic movie in which a guy is seen sucking his own dick and cumming in his mouth in the opening scene.

God damned them all, I was told we'd cruise the seas for American gold, we'd fire no guns-shed no tears, now I'm a broken man on a Halifax pier, the last of Barrett's privateers!

I'll second AntiChrist.

I had the unfortunate luck of watching that movie with my ex and her family in the living room on boxing day a few years back. Her older sister was the Gothic type and had heard about it through a friend and had asked me to download it.

I'm naturally more drawn towards dark and disturbing things be it movies or music so I will post a few that I have enjoyed over the years (Will not post spoilers)

7Days is another one I enjoyed thoroughly even though it is in French the acting is top notch and a very emotional journey.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0445054/

I Saw The Devil another great foreign movie with a dark and disturbing story.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1588170/

5150 Elms Way Slow moving one this but the acting and story kept me interested and excited to see how it progresses.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1331291/?ref_=tt_rec_tt

Dead Mans Shoes A movie that is closer to home for me being set in Ireland. Film four studios have never disappointed me with any of the movies I have watched from them.

This one I can not recommend enough as it had really struck a chord with me from the great acting to the story itself and the way it manifests over the duration.

"Old Boy" is a pretty amazing Korean movie about the lengths some people will go for revenge.

It got second place at Cannes in '03. Great movie. Spike Lee did a really weak remake recently.

Requiem is not disturbing and you should stay away from Salo or some of the others if you think it is, 7 days was good from what I remember

Another movie that's good but will make you squirm is Irreversible with Monica Bellucci.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290673/?ref...lmg_act_38

Quote:Events over the course of one traumatic night in Paris unfold in reverse-chronological order as the beautiful Alex is brutally raped and beaten by a stranger in the underpass.

Another is a film out of Japan called The Audition.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0235198/

Quote:A widower takes an offer to screen girls at a special audition, arranged for him by a friend to find him a new wife. The one he fancies is not who she appears to be after all.

Blue Valentine is a sad disturbing movie with no real violence.

It's just about a relationship that is falling apart. A man with a woman raising someone else's kid, she won't let him knock her up, they go away for a weekend to try to rekindle the flame, it doesn't work.

It's just horrible, the most real movie about marital dysfunction I've ever seen.
