I was curious so I found the azalia banks interview where she talked about iggy (starts around 8:30). She has no clue what she's talking about. She feels things but can't put together a coherent thought - it's all emotion, messy and unclear. She's young and got some fame so now she thinks her feelings are important and transcendent. Her identity is completely wrapped up in hip hop so of course anything that happens in that world that she doesn't agree with is a personal insult..... She's still in high school basically.

And as soon as the radio guy pushes back even slightly, really just the tiniest pressure talking to her like she's a child, she can't take it and reacts as if he's attacking her telling him to stfu and stop coming at her.

I only come to say two things. Mainly cause I don't care about pop aboutculture gossip. Even though I'm week aware of it.

1. People need to stop popping into threads just to tell us that they have no idea who people are.
If you don't know who the characters in the story are..Why do you care to be in the conversation?
You're not cool by saying you don't know the people. If they are in the news..it more than likely means they are known.
If they are selling millions of records and doing international tours.. You are simple unaware of the industry around you.

The original premise was that it would be funny if a fake internet cult went to battle with a real life cult, but anything with the word "protest" attached quickly attracts the aforementioned faggots.
• Hacking one of the biggest Hip Hop sites on the internet (SOHH) after someone on the site's forum called out "all you 4chan niggas" for being keyboard jockeys. The site was plastered with racist images and messages, and through a campaign of fake accounts scaremongering about the seemingly limitless powers of chaos "Anonymous" can channel, other major Hip Hop sites banned anyone seeking refuge from SOHH while it was down in case 4chan hackers made their computers explode using advanced viruses.
• Getting Oprah Winfrey to try and start a witch hunt over a fake internet paedophile ring, and say the phrase "over 9000 penises" on national TV.

This seems sort of irrelevant. He (and Ryan Lewis) released their breakout album in late 2012 and then toured almost the entirety of 2013. They've said they're going to take a break and enjoy their success before writing their next album. Keep in mind that they're not signed to a major label, so they can do whatever they want. The vast majority of artists with sales and hits like theirs do not have the same luxury.

Yeah for a signed rapper to stay relevant they have to do that. But they're white guys who make music for white people and have massive brand loyalty. It is more fair to compare them to a rock band who just released and toured a hype debut and is now taking their time to follow it up.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis snagged two #1 songs on their last album. If that wasn't massive enough their other two singles both made it in the top 40. Iggy also shares a record with The Beatles for having the top two songs on the charts with their first two songs. Those aren't small achievements.

I love Kendrick but he's more acclaimed than popular. Macklemore has more money than him and Iggy is more famous. Sure he's better than both combined times a billion but we are talking about relevancy here and they both have the demonstrable data on their side.
