Honestly I'm just very surprised at the coincidences between 20 and this guy Samuel Clarkson.

Samuel Clarkson

Nicholas Jack

Same number of syllables, same banal names.

Same cover art

Same mistakes with leaving out apostrophes

Samuel Clarkson uses 20s maps in his book that has the same cover art as Nicholas Jack

Both have mentioned being from Utah.

Both churn out ebooks

The only thing that makes me think it might not be 20 is because Samuel Clarkson has displayed a larger vocabulary.

Only a fool would ignore that.

Note that not only the Sean Clarkson books have now been pulled from Amazon, but also all the Hunter Powers books have been pulled as well (the Nokogiri book is by a different Hunter Powers). This strongly supports the suspicion that "Sean Clarkson" and "Hunter Powers" are the same person.

same old shit, sixes and sevens Shaft...

I'd say it's likely he was plagiarizing not only from rvf but also stw, meaning, he wasn't just plagiarizing you, but 20 as well.

Just a thought.

The person who plagiarized Fisto's book is linked to a Hunter Powers on Amazon, who put out a "How To Kite Surf" book.

The forum actually has a member named Hunter: hun73r (his name is leet-speak for Hunter). I met him this summer in Ukraine. He's a normal American guy who has done internet marketing jobs in the past. He told me he had websites on how to kite surf. This is quite an amazing coincidence, since having a name like Hunter while also kite surfing is not common. He also logged in late last night so would have known about this thread to take the books down.

So I sent him a message saying I suspect it's him and that it's best to come clean, but he did not reply.

The fact that the plagiarized books were taken down is positive, since harm against Fisto has stopped, but I think whatever money was earned on that book should either be donated to charity or directly to Fisto. In the meantime, I will await a response from member hun73r and monitor that account. Since it's impossible to be 100% sure who it was, I do not advise a witch hunt.

This wasn't the member I was thinking of. The guy I thought it was has only like 20 posts here but has his own semi-popular site. Interesting though that that guy hun73r actually posted in some of those Thailand threads. Another highly strange coincidence.

I better understand what happened, now that Roosh has posted his deductions. Because yesterday, I did not understand why the books were pulled from Amazon?? Made no sense at the time! The guy suddenly having a conscience? come on...Dodgy

But I see it now : the guy read here yesterday that someone had linked him to a pseudo, Hunter, and subsequently, to kite-surfing. So he thought that Roosh would remember meeting him, talking about kite-surfing - and put 2 and 2 together... so he went into panic mode and suddenly pulled the books from Amazon. Makes sense, his panicky reactions... and I bet he still is in panic mode now, what with Roosh having IDed him, and Fisto being quite upset...Confused lol

And below, that's him seeing yesterday that someone here linked the mysterious ebook with kite-surfing... :

Yeah it sure seems like that's what happened.
It's also possible though that he was alerted by people leaving 1 star reviews on his books, if any of those reviews mentioned anything about plagiarism(I didn't get the chance to read any of them so I don't know if they mentioned it or not.)

Yeah there were 3 or 4 reviews saying the books were ripoffs, I think a few guys from here left reviews but maybe not. Thought I recognized a few similar usernames.

It is very likely that the alleged offender is impecunious. Relevant issues regarding possible litigation are: 1) identifying the defendant; 2) proving the infringement; 3) which court has jurisdiction; 4) what loss has been suffered (quantum) in light of the trivial revenue made; 5) does posting on a public forum entail creating a protectable property; 6) who ultimately 'owns' the content of this forum.
Some of the answers may be easy to answer. The issue is protecting intellectual property. It is a specialised field of law. Good luck to Fisto

Anyway, maybe he not only wanted to plagiarize you, he wants more : I mean he's so obsessed with your writings that, I'd think of this kind of major obsessed nutcase?:

From an attorney's point of view (well, this attorney), the possibility of collecting on the liability created by a successful lawsuit might be somewhat minimal. That being said, you could ruin his credit which nowadays makes it much more difficult to break out of the lower income spectrum - not impossible, but more difficult.

One thing that didn't seem discussed though, given the likely limited damages that would be available for lost revenues (just seems hard to establish the book would have substantial value given the track record of some similar publications) might be a suit for "false light" or even libel (though this might be harder to establish as the publication never connected Fisto to it, for obvious reasons). A suit based on your privacy rights, though, wouldn't be limited to damages for lost profits, though and so the potential damages could be significantly higher and more oppressive to this identity thief than a suit based on copyright (you didn't file, so you wouldn't be entitled to statutory treble damages). You could even sue for "intentional infliction of emotional distress" based on his knowing act and the likelihood that falsifying your history amongst your peers in the PUA community cause you some foreseeable psychic damage.

If you decide to pursue a lawsuit, you'd likely file on all these bases...this is just something to consider in weighing your options.

Fisto

I saw this comment on Roosh's blog as I listened to his chat with Quintus

Quote:Off topic, but this is a comment
directed to Fisto here: /thr...

I make money publishing fiction on
Amazon and here's two things that may help him:

This week a popular erotica author
had a similar thing happen, I.E. a scammer rebranding his books and
publishing. The author complained to Amazon and the member of the
customer service team who replied actually gave him the full name
and address of the individual who created the offending account.
Obviously this might be a lapse, but it's certainly worth a shot.

2. Most/all of these e-pubbing marketer
sorts will use mailing lists. If the plagiarist has, and anyone on
the forum has a copy of the ebook, Fisto can sign-up. A requirement
of a mailing list (and all the popular companies, such as Mailchimp)
is to provide a physical address (per US and EU law). The moment
Fisto receives the confirmation e-mail there will be the plagiarists
home address or his PO box at the bottom of the e-mail.

Thanks for the info pointing me towards this thread, guys. False alarm - it looks like Fisto's troll doesn't fit the patterns I've noticed.

(11-15-2014 06:49 PM)Roosh Wrote:  He told me he had websites on how to kite surf. This is quite an amazing coincidence, since having a name like Hunter while also kite surfing is not common.

Kind of like amazing coincidence of Nasa Test Pilot's most furious-defender in the NTP Plagiarism Thread sharing an interest in sailing Cats.

From a Cruising Lifestyle Forum:

It's particularly curious that, despite Hydro and NTP regularly communicating in threads, once NTP starts dominating the Sailing Thread with Huge Info Dumps back in February, bragging about his regular casual circumnavigation of the globe with Bond Girls on his hip, Hydro never once comments in the thread to share his similar dream of living the cruising lifestyle, his own sailing research, or his shared interest in Catamarans.

It's also odd, given Hydrogonian's constant need to be seen as the Font of All Knowledge, he never chooses to inform the community what a Cat is when members in the Plagiarism thread are saying "What the fuck is a Cat?" thereby creating a forum meme. Instead Hydro points the finger of suspicion at multiple members, then suggests the thread be locked as soon as possible to stop further discussion.

I'm guessing this is in case Kona recalled an old conversation in 2010 about 'Living On A Boat':

(07-03-2010 02:08 PM)hydrogonian Wrote:  Ive fantasized about this for a while. The only drawback is that I get very seasick. So it may always remain a fantasy, but I'm looking into possible solutions to the sickness. Im also very fair skinned, and Im not sure that its a smart idea from a skin cancer perspective. However, I'll link to my favorite resources and inspiration below.

The only thing that holds me back is the idea of being chained to what is, in a real sense, a large liability and limiting factor in travel. From one perspective, the boat opens up a lifestyle that is otherwise unattainable. It is, for sure, the most pimp way to live off of any coastal region in the world (if you can afford a decent sized boat). In another sense, it limits you to that lifestyle and where that lifestyle can take you.

He then links to the Cruisers forum.

(07-04-2010 05:32 PM)Kona Wrote:  I have the range to hit all of the Hawaiian Islands, and love to head to Maui and rent a slip in Lahaina overnight. In that case, the boat is great for picking up girls. You're bringing your hotel room with you. Just be sure they know the boat isn't leaving the dock with them on it.

Aloha!

Someone else actually living the fantasy life a Gamma would see as his personal property would trigger a deep, burning hatred that would last years. If you think that's a ridiculous idea, you haven't experienced Gamma. This would also explain Hydro's odd and memorable enmity towards Kona in the Dallas Shooting thread.

Nasa Test Pilot joins on Dec 25th, 2015.

Hydrogonian reactivates after almost four years of inactivity on Jan 25th, 2016.

Consider this: large chunks of plagiarism might not only give the appearance of imparting knowledge to the forum for personal rep gain, but it could serve a secondary function - offering the appearance of a person and their sockpuppets having a detailed conversation.

I mean, why not use the unexpected popularity of a deliberate Troll profile to rehabilitate the reputation and boost the popularity of your original profile?

The thing about dysfunctional psychological behaviour is it eventually becomes really, really predictable as the false personas bleed into each other.

(12-05-2016 04:32 AM)John_Galt Wrote:  This forum has a search function. Please utilize it.

(06-13-2010 02:42 PM)hydrogonian Wrote:  we just had a thread about this. do a search.

This is how I predicted John_Galt would activate after my Aug 13 Smackdown of Hydro in the European Invasion Thread, which he did on Sep 16.

Which is also how I knew he'd also be accusing others of being 'trolls or shills':

(06-05-2010 03:20 PM)hydrogonian Wrote:  maybe contribute just one useful post before you tell others how its a waste of time.

Your obviously a troll and should be banned.

john_galt Wrote:I sense a troll, but fuck it, I'll bite....

john_galt Wrote:If you're a member of RooshVForum, how do you avoid reading threads started by trolls?

That's something we'd all benefit from learning.

john_galt Wrote:This was truly some epic trolling. OP, if you're reading this-----you're a damn funny troll.

john_galt Wrote:Tons of trolls are showing up and getting banned today for some reason. They are lasting just about as long as Eastern Cancer did.

This last one is particularly-worrying, because a Gamma would want to openly-brag about how much smarter he is than the rest of the forum, believing we're all far, far beneath his intelligence:

john_galt Wrote:The trolling efforts are getting more advanced. Next thing you know they'll be self-replicating by hacking the forum software and making numerous "back up" accounts.

He's hinting at the forum's vulnerability. I mean, it's not like you'd have to be a Rocket Scientist to hack a forum... Sorry, it's like my Thought Wandered there.

Galt laid low for a while, but the mask started slipping quickly enough and familiar patterns resurface.

(11-29-2016 01:31 AM)John_Galt Wrote:  Not thin-skinned. I'm not offended by your insults. I just don't find them productive. Smile

I enjoy the intellectual discourse. I'm not trying to save the world, just enjoying the intellectual stimulation provided by the ideas of others.

Not the Hawaii reference - he'd jumped into a thread with - you guessed it - Kona, and was oddly-combative with him, almost like as if he's carrying a long-simmering grudge.

I just had to check if Galt posted in any sailing threads. By a hell of a coincidence, he did. Check the Sour Grapes in 'Yacht Lifestyle Game':

A yacht is not a lifestyle. It's just an object that floats in water.

At least it looks like Nasa Test Pilot has finally been buried at sea.

If you're really paying close attention, you'll notice how Hydro's voice here isn't quite our Hydro. That's because Hydrogonian on the forum was always an exaggerated, aggressive Big Baller Troll Alpha Construct of a more mild mannered guy, hence why I referred to him as The Uncontrolled Id, and NTP as the Idealised Ego. Was there a Rational Superego, always preaching moderation and playing devil's advocoate?

This is where things get really interesting, hence me predicting that John_Galt would show an interest in the Philippines - and, yes, most of his early activity is about it - but I'm going to head off soon for a Christmas break, and have an album to record, so it can wait. Since the profile in question has been oddly-silent, maybe it's just not important any more.

Anyway, check the forum software for vulnerabilities, Roosh. If I can accurately-predict behaviour based upon my psychological profiling, then it's far beyond mere coincidence. This guy is a deliberate, serial pest, who seems to both need the approval of the forum whilst also trying to disrupt it.
