Coincidence?

I haven't actually published anything on Amazon yet so I'm not sure, but doesn't it take some time for the books to get pulled if the author does it? Like 24-48 hours? I kinda remember reading that in the KDP agreement, but I might be wrong.

With the clues posted in this thread, I'm pretty certain I know who this is (an active forum member).

I contacted him to come clean about his involvement. The book in question being taken down is a necessary first step.

20nation is not the suspected member, in case this is being insinuated.

I think maybe its not 20nation because the Sean Clarkson author didn' use an apostrophe in 'guys' like 20 did in those two books.

The guy probably copied his cover art.

Fisto, this is definitely not cool at all, kind of makes you feel like you have to keep your travel tales to yourself or just a select group of vetted individuals.

There's an apostrophe missing in a clarkson title here:

I doubt missing apostrophes are a common error in books on Amazon, at least in the cover art.

Anyhow, I have no dog in this fight and no issue with 20, but I think it's a bit suspect. My apologies if I'm on the wrong track.

Sorry that this happened to you Fisto.

Do your research, consult with a professional to find out your options, and take methodical action.

Anyone notice any email addresses associated with these books?

Maybe I could send message or something.

I saw this thread this afternoon. Immediately I called Emech after I laughed my ass off till my sides hurt due to the obvious, and we started the network to 'Save Fisto'.

My spidey senses mirror Emech's to a "T".

This shit will get figured out by morning. Fisto is a brother.

This blows big time I hope whoever it is pulls it down after Roosh's investigation. But maybe if it all gets worked out it will help motivate Fisto to write a book now?

Holy shit! I hope you can manage to stop this asshole. I could understand someone writing stories inspired by you (think of how James Bond came to be), but just ripping off your own diaries is abominable.

But look at the bright side provided by Oscar Wilde - it's better to be talked about than not to be talked about at all Smile

If you look at the reviews of "Sean Clarkson's" two e-books, you'll notice they both get 5 star shill reviews from reviewers "sunchaser" and "mr powers":

mr powers

If you look through their profiles to see what else they have reviewed, you'll notice that the only other author both of them review beside "Sean Clarkson" is one "Hunter Powers" who writes scam books about diets:

Hunter Powers

Moreover, in some cases, "sunchaser" and "mr powers" are the only reviewers of some of these books, just like they were the first reviewers of Clarkson's books. Of course all of these are 5 star shill reviews.

My conclusion is that it is very likely that "Sean Clarkson", "Hunter Powers", "sunchaser" and "mr powers" are all one and the same person. While that does not tell us who he is, it may be useful information. This character is not just a plagiarist of Fisto's stories, but also churns out diet and lifestyle scam books obviously based on scraping various lifestyle websites.

Lest someone be thrown off by this, there is a guy on the web named Hunter Powers who seems to be a high powered developer/programmer. This is certainly not the same person as the pseudonymous "Hunter Powers"/"Sean Clarkson"/"mr powers"/"sunchaser".

Hope this helps someone who has more time to dig into this.

They review a lot of six pack and diet type of books, internet marketing books, mostly e commerce it seems, and a kite surfing how to book. All probably the same person who ripped off Fisto. Someone might be able to do some more digging into those books and reviews and connect some more dots.

I dug pretty deeply into it and came up with two possible people, one of them being fairly well known in the community. I'll leave it up to those involved to determine if they want to pursue it.

All of the Amazon pages seem to be gone.

I think you have a copyright case, you don't have to register a copyright or even publish under your own name for copyright protection.

The preliminary questions are (1) whether there are enough proceeds from these e-books to make it worth any legal action, (2) finding a jurisdiction to sue the guy, and (3) whether he has any assets which can be reached.

20 the guy uses your maps, and claims to be from Utah. You may want to get involved to find out who it is also.
