What makes it believable is all the footage and the gear. It's definitely not your run of the mill story.

Beyond just accessing non American women, I love to travel. So, I always have an interest in places I visit beyond sex. I just give my tourist reason for being in a place. The only time this has raised suspicions was when I spent a week in Makati "on my way to go surfing in Siargao" but even then it didn't cause any problems.

I'm not a fan of the real estate angle for this. It works, but you'd have to do research before going there in case you run into real estate chicks.

One response that I may test out the next time I head out of country:

"I'm trying to find a new place to live where I feel that I fit in and can find good financial and social opportunities. This may be the city." And then of course you bounce a couple days later...hehehe

Not only does it give you an excuse to stay in a hotel, but it forces her to try extra hard to keep you around if she likes you.

I don't think the girls believed me though, at 24 (people say I look younger than that quite often), it's hard to believe that someone has that much money at a "fresh out of college" age

it was actually true though, I was looking for a plot of land to buy, but apparently the IRS has made it extremely difficult for Americans to get mortgages much less do banking overseas...

Work online in IT: bad cover. Low-prestige job, also implying you do geek work, relatively badly-paid myopic slave-work, writing obscure lines of code for a living (no James Bond stuff, you'll agree). The word "IT" turns off all women worldwide. IT was good 15 years ago. But now, if you are a female, do you want to get fucked by a 1500 usd/month IT geek, or by a 5000 usd/month marine biologist, or real-estate professional?

Working in IT/software does not have the same stink everywhere. In poorer economies, a foreigner who works remotely for an international company, gets paid in dollars, sets their own schedule, etc., is not low status compared to what most of the locals can offer.

A short, respectful speech like "I'm fortunate to be able to work remotely and live where I choose, and [this place] is somewhere I've always been curious about ... the culture ... the food ... the history." Being able to speak the language and say something positive, sincere and knowledgeable about the people also sets you apart.

For many years, my actual job was maintaining a software application remotely. It could just as easily have been websites. Not a single person ever asked for details. Even if this had not been my actual situation, it could have been a good cover story if the goal was just to explain my presence and avoid looking like a sex tourist.

I don't get the problem.

I've encountered a thousand obstacles to bang foreign women, but this was never one of them.

If you are there short term: job interview.

If you stay there for 3 months... you are there for a 3 month contract? every mid sized city in the world has offices from international corporations who hire consultants for 3-6 months, from guys in their mid 20s to senior guys in their 50s. This works for software guys, engineers, marketing guys, anyone.

Actually, even if I was staying there for 6 months, I would tell every new girl that this was my first week. Gives excuses and you can get away with more crap.

But even in places overun with sex tourists like the Phi, usually I just say " this is my favorite place to scuba dive" or whatever bullshit and that's it. In eastern Europe you can say you work in Switzerland and are there for a short vacation. Couldn't be simpler.

I have used the Citibank line in the Philippines to good avail. I don't recommend the real estate line - in the nicer areas, there is so much real estate development that you'll find yourself having to sit through a pitch.

Where there's no Citibank, I've said I'm a pilot or work for Google (I'll give you a free gmail account just like me).

If you go the corporate route, your hotel should be to a similar standard. If I'm using AirBNB or at a lower end place, I'll say that I'm working in a nearby city but taking a few days off to explore my present location.

Development, yea, but I just say (if they ask me), that I'm looking to buy an existing building. Never had an issues or further probing.
