RE: Manila - Places to go out
Week nights there seem to be a lot less options for nightlife, I hit up a bunch of clubs that were all closed and ended up in Exclusive club which was small but seemed quite nice and lots of eye contact from girls (although this might mean they are freelancers) I was with a big group and had a girl already so didn't engage.

Ps
The flight attendant night looks good!

It was empty the time I went but XYXX around the corner was packed. The crowd all seemed really shifty though and I couldn't really figure them out.

RE: Manila - Places to go out
Hey nice thread - I got the same problem.
I am planning a 10 day trip to Manila and try to figure out where to go when,
at the moment we will focus on 3 areas:

- Makati and Fort Bonifacio
- Quezon City
- Ortigas Greenfield District

I would assume we should do Makati and Fort during the week because there is a lot of nightlife and there should be options during the week, and quezon and ortigas for the weekends.
Or would be the opposite better - enjoy the prime spots in makati and fort on the weekends and the low nights in quezon and ortigas?

And am I missing a good spot?

RE: Manila - Places to go out
Mon - Thursday nights you want to be in the Fort, if you want to drink early evening would suggest Greenbelt,Makati row of outdoor bars, Spicy Fingers, Draft, Barcino etc...
Friday - Would hit Greenfield District early evening for the end of the working week action then venture into Makati or the Fort
Saturday - Would say the Fort is your best bet, Greenfield very quiet in the bars but they do have an outdoor market which gets busy if that's your thing!
Sunday - evening action busy in Greenbelt, Makati.........Fort not bad for the afternoon mooch....Greenfield deserted! Sunday night generally quiet wherever you go!
Would not bother at all with Quezon City, waste of time in my opinion and if you are new to Manila I would keep your wits about you if you venture that far out

RE: Manila - Places to go out
Thank you PacFan for this schedule.
Where should we choose our Hotel then? In Greenbelt for daygame Pulls but no nightclub,
or in Fort for both?
In Fort there are no rooms left for our timeframe in september, but a nice airbnb place - that should be okay, too.

RE: Manila - Places to go out
All depends what your budget is mate
I rate the Fairmont in Makati CBD as the best hotel here but you will be looking at approx. 7K ++ a night
Nothing wrong with staying in a condo in the Fort but like I have already mentioned there is much more in terms of foot traffic in the daytime/early evening in Makati
I was in 71 Gram on Friday night and it was really quiet....there is a lot of competition going on between the more higher end places with new additions opening up which sees the 'in-crowd' jump ship on a regular basis....the high end places here tend to have a very short shelf life....with places like City of Dreams and Valkyrie opening up and only a limited number of punters who these gaffs cater too I expect to see some of the clubs struggle!

RE: Manila - Places to go out
Thanks for the insight.
Fairmont would be possible but I don't see the value of so much money for out purpose, staying in good location to have fun with my boys and some girls - for Example: Hotel Celeste is next door for less than half the price.
Do you think this is the best location for party and daygame in Manila currently?

The last part is interesting, I don't have any idea where to go for nightlife, I guessed hyve would be the spot in fort and gramercy71 for makati - but of course that's a limited view.

Really appreciate your insights and help a lot.

RE: Manila - Places to go out
I'm staying in Makati at the beginning of Feb for a weekend. If you had to pick two club options for each night which would you choose?

(Will be getting ubers to go around or a private driver.)

Thanks!

Really the fort is miles ahead of anything else in the Philippines, including Makati. The ban on jeeps except for a few roads makes the air quality quite breathable. Gramercy is pretty well played at this point, they've moved on.

Do an apartment rental, much much better value for money, and chicks might think you actually live there long term, less LMR.

RE: Manila - Places to go out
When I was there the only solid option for clubs was Valkyrie. One night I went around to a ton of bars and ended up there, and it was at least 5x more people than any other place.

RE: Manila - Places to go out
Valkyrie is without doubt the most popular club in Manila at present. Although don't expect to swim at the Pool Club as they have now started to drain the pools in order to accommodate more people! The Pool Club was a good concept but due to the seating arrangements around the pool and the consumable charge for these seats, most people stayed at the upper level where you walk in (no consumable) and it caused a huge bottle neck....
Gramercy will close this month...done well to stay open as long as it has, had some good times there when it first opened, but the place is a shadow of it's former self with all the regulars now to be found in the Skyboxes in Valkyrie!
