Scarves...yay or nay?
I was roaming around a northeastern US city yesterday and noticed that a lot of dudes (and girls) were wearing scarves, even though it was cool but it wasn't really that cold. So it's clearly more of an "accessory" than something functional. I suspect it's the same in other SWPL areas...What are your thoughts on this fashion trend? It's been going for a few years now it seems.

Yay if you have a harder look to you. It looks horrible on pretty boy types and softer looking guys

I've got some shemaghs that I "liberated" in Afghanistan. I wear those in the winter. I've never been the type to wear a scarfe. But that's just me. Some guys can pull that look together pretty well.

Scarves are a great accessory for boosting up your style while also being quite functional for the colder weather players on here.

I recommend starting with some simple colors like royal blue, light gray or black to start. They match with pretty much everything.

Cool think about scarves is you can continue to wear them after you remove your jacket indoors and it looks cool over a shirt too.

I recently bought a couple cause I wanted to try the look. haven't pulled the trigger to wear them yet though. some dudes can pull it off, others not so much.

granted it is still pretty warm where I live so maybe I'll rock it in a month or 2. I bought 2 cheap ones that look and feel pretty nice from ebay. a reddish and tanish looking 1.

Yay

I have a few. My favorite is the classic checker patterned type of scarf, like my black, white and red one.

I wear scarves like shemaghs anyway. Letting the ends hang always felt girly to me

RE: Scarves...yay or nay?
Yes.

The down side of living in California is the lack of scarf weather.

Scarfs are good for game. Also versatile and functional.

I can't believe how I spent so many years in my life before I started wearing a scarf.

It's crazy what we do to appease to the opinions of others.

Leave um better than you found um, boys.

Scarves have to be congruent with the weather and your style.

For instance, wearing it over just a shirt makes you like an absolute prick. It ought to be combined with a jacket or coat.

I've rocked a scarf here and there. It makes a huge difference in colder weather, since the arteries that run through your neck are more exposed to the elements than other parts of the body. You'd be surprised how well just a long sleeve shirt and scarf works in the cold versus throwing an entire coat on.

I often where a Khmer scarf here in Cambodia to wipe sweat off my face, it looks good and has practicality.

Yay

Not only functional for frigid weather states

Always thought a crisp looking scarf added a hint of sophistication/coolness and attention to detail

Yay...It's a must where I live...just to stay warm.

Good thread, I'm gonna look for a stylish new scarf for the winter.

I think cravats look good and wish I could figure out a way to wear them without looking like a pretentious phaggot but that is probably impossible.

RE: Scarves...yay or nay?
Cold crisp morning. Normally I make my own coffee, but I happened to be leaving a night long threesome with two models. Looking at my watch, it was past lunch. There is not enough time to go home and make coffee and still make it to work for the day. I enter the hipster coffee shop. My neck and chest exposed with the open jacket and v-neck, I immediately notice women checking me out. They are turned on by my superior immune system. But I am not here to to pick up women. I must establish my dominance. I walk chin up, neck exposed, challenging any hipster beta to take his best shot. They continue to sit trembling, not once raising their eyes from their mac books. Thick scarves cover their necks. Looks comical on their slender frames. In nature a real alpha wolf keeps his neck out, welcoming a challenge any second. I pace back and forth a few more times before ordering my coffee. I leave no tip for the barista, and make my way back outside. Where is the challenge these days I ask myself. I realize next year the fad will be mens knitting, and make a mental note to research investing opportunities. I light my cigar, and exhale into the cold air.

I'm ok with it. It's very popular in NYC. They sell pashmina scarves on every street corner. When in doubt wear black, tan or red to contrast. The print Burberry ones are kinda fagggy in my opinion.
