I believe it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but it bears repeating: Despite teachers being so often portrayed as saintly characters worthy of our utmost respect (and who are woefully underpaid for the miracles they perform in our children's lives on a daily basis), the fact is the teaching profession attracts a large number of highly degenerate people, and more than its fair share of degenerate women.

The teaching profession is a lot like the modern priesthood: We're supposed to think that the clergy are the human embodiment of goodness and holiness, when in fact many rank among the most corrupt, disturbed and downright evil people on the planet.

The popular mythology which surrounds these professions is no doubt a big part of makes them attractive to degenerates. Being able to say you are a teacher (or a priest, minister, etc.) puts you into a special class, and affords you a kind of instant respect and automatic admiration from others.

As often as these kinds of stories are being reported, you have to wonder how often things like this go on, and are never reported.

Police say the relationship between Limuli and the student progressed from flirty text images and phone calls to a physical one after he turned 18. The sexual encounters occurred outside of school on "at least 12 occasions," according to the complaint.

Officials said Limuli showered the teen with gifts, gave him more than $1,000 cash and access to her credit card, and told him she would get in trouble if anyone found out. Bail for Limuli was set at $50,000 unsecured with conditions to include her having no contact with the victim or other students.

Neither Limuli nor her lawyer, Matthew P. Sedacca, could be reached for late comment Monday night.

Burns was set to receive 110 years but some of the charges were set to run concurrent thus diminishing the total amount of time that will be served.

In March in East Texas, a Shelby County grand jury indicted Shelbyville ISD former teacher Johanna Grace Vickers on 17 out of 18 felony counts of an improper sexual relationship with a student.

Also in March, in North Texas, former Plano Independent School District teacher, Aaron Russel Reza, was indicted Tuesday on nine counts of sexual misconduct between an educator and a minor, each a second-degree felony.
