I remember very well how it was in Beslan. Even at the train station there was alot of tension, walls where glued with pictures of "terrorists".
I heard from locals that girls still today get kidnapped into arranged marriages.
I would not call that area as a very peaceful area.
In fact I would call it as the most turbulent area in all Russia.

The Nazis had different races fighting for them but it isn't mentioned much due to distortion of history. It wouldn't be good mainstream knowledge about WWII.

I also see this admiration for Nazis as a great success with regards to their PR and look. Nazis don't come across as rag-tag or stupid, unlike ISIS. Their belief is tangible, you can see it and feel it rather than believing in some sky fairy.

It is easy to admire something from afar. What the Nazis did wasn't in the best interests of mankind, quite the opposite.

There was a funny advert for space heaters in Indonesia (I seem to recall) a few years ago that featured a cartoon Hitler saluting. The caption was something like "Declare war on the cold front!"

In the east they don't grasp the level of taboo for that kind of thing which we have in the west.

As I mentioned, the Chechen War notwithstanding, the vast majority of people in the Northern Caucasus live in peace. I won't deny that the war caused a lot of damage and was exceptional in its brutality; nevertheless, the region is now finally beginning to prosper.

I had a date with a German girl last night actually.

To be fair, Nazi icons, uniforms, organization were aesthetically pleasing (in a very fascist kinda way). Like that big eagle symbol behind Hitler when he made speeches is badass. The ideology was stupid but the icons were cool.

The swastika is an ancient symbol used by Hindus and ancient Persians.

Hitler's stupidity actually causes a lot of confusion of terms. I wish he used the word "Nordic" or "Germanic" instead of "Aryan." The real aryans are ancient Indians who spread Hindusim. And back then "aryan" didn't have racial significance - it was an old Sanskrit and Persian word that simply meant "noble" .

The similarity in Sanskrit, Persian, Latin, Germanic languages etc doesn't necessarily mean racial similarity as some European philologists theorized in the 19th century.

That being said, I agree with Speakeasy that Slavic (and in my opinion White women generally) are overrated.

That's not exactly my experience. I never heard Russians refer gasterbeiter to workers from EE. And I never saw them. Perhaps because they blend in well with Russians. But I kept hearing girls call these Central Asians/ Caucasians as "black people"

However. I think these things matters so little so it's not worth a much of discussion.

I lived in Moscow for 5+ years and traveled extensively throughout the country and don't think I ever saw one skinhead / Neo-Nazi. Despite being 'warned' about it when I went over by some ABC News special about the "rise of nationalism in Russia' which turned out to be utter garbage.

The Russians were probably the biggest reason the Germans lost in WWII contrary to popular Western traditional thought which has the US as the main 'victors.' They are all well aware of this fact and of all the atrocities committed against Russians by the Nazis as well.

So I don't think Russians generally revere Nazis one bit and in fact they generally don't like them at all, as you're seeing in the Ukraine conflict where state-run Russian TV propaganda is scaring the average Russian into being against the current regime in Kiev bc it's full of far-right "Nazis."

There is no budding "nazi" problem in Russia nor are there millions of women dying to be "Miss Nazi."

FYI, at Russian wedding's you typically see "Na Berlin" (to Berlin) and other ex WWII war slogans still as a patriotic gesture (just as you see them during the recently reinstated military parades).

This doesn't mean the average Russian has an axe to grind against regular Germans however. Most admire their manufacturing capabilities and buy their cars and appliances as they have a good reputation in the country.

Sometimes I really wonder how all these blue pill PC comments and ideas get put into the threads on this forum. If I want to read that type of stuff I can just go to CNN, the major US Networks, the BBC and/or read the NY Times, Wash Post etc.

Sorry but this thread is just another reminder that many people, even on this forum, still have some pretty standard PC/bluepill or whatever ideology you want to call it drilled into them even if they are relatively 'red pill' with regards to women.

No one ever said millions of girls, or all Russians. In my original post i noted that it was a small group of racists. If you go read the article you'll see it's all happening only on Facebook. I thought it was funny that girls would want to be "miss Hitler", and i was a little shocked at how hot they were. Everything you're upset about seems to be driven by misunderstanding. Chaos I know you have extensive experience traveling throughout Russia so it was not aimed at you as I value and respect your knowledge and commentary. I also understand where you are coming from for the most part. And when I referred to the traditional view on "who won WWII" yeah I meant the traditional American point of view (where we were always taught we won it all!! ).

But many other posts seemed indicative of people who have never been to Russia or understand very well, or, worse, believe what their country's mainstream press is telling them at the moment (which is mostly highly negative due to the current situation in Ukraine, but also largely wrong and biased, especially due to the "Putin Hating" mainstream media frenzy. Hillary Clinton did compare Putin's actions to what Hitler did mind you).

The posts that struck me as off or just too exaggerated were things like these:

"I think for many today, worshiping Nazis or Hitler is a way of rebelling against Communism, multiculturalism, etc. " (Many?)

I guess when I read through the thread it smacked me that the tone had turned into a general acceptance that in Russia there is a growing Nazi problem - lookout!!" Nothing could be further from the truth. Maybe some have strong ethnocentric tendencies (gopniks), but that's not unique to Russia.

Furthermore, as I said in my earlier post, the current situation in Russia, where there is indeed more nationalist propaganda, in fact actually would make them less likely to be fans of "Nazis" simply because the boogeyman that is constantly put on the Russian national news is the supposed Nazi factions in Ukraine hurting ethnic Russians there. And as one poster said Putin has repeatedly spoken out against hooliganism and any sort of "neo-Nazism". So the whole premise is not only false due to history (you know how the Russian lost millions fighting the Nazis) but also to what's currently going on there on account of the Ukraine situation.

So I don't think there is a "Neo-Nazi movement anywhere in Russia and frankly it's way less prominent than the mainstream media say it is elsewhere. It's just a scaremongering tactic to get us to all stay in line and worry about something and also a way of morally equivocating the transgressions of what some others have done (for example, what Islamic immigrants have done throughout the rest of Europe on the anti-Semitism front (i.e. Malmo, the stuff that's gone on in France, etc.). So when people complain the mainstream press on always pointing out some fringe neo-Nazi movement somewhere to 'morally equivocate' even if the #s of attacks and transgressions are nowhere near the same).

Edit: Maybe these girls are mostly from Ukraine?
