If you watch Angry Joe's review of the Trailer he is spot on. The jokes are very lame and this movie is a complete joke. There's really nothing serious happening and nothing is scary. The dialogue is horrible, cheesy, and loaded with slapstick and side comments that ruin any tension in the film. I wanted this movie to be good cause I'm a big GB fan, but this is a fiasco."


If the above (rather lengthy) review is legit; it will be interesting to see more mainstream reviews & whether said reviews are honest or pander to "The Narrative".

You can force women only casts down peoples' throats, but you can't make them laugh at an unfunny, lame film. This whole enterprise is at least 50% dependent on fans of the original so I predict a massive loss for this. I just don't get why somebody, somewhere signed over $154,000,000 to make such a financially risky film. $20-30 million I can understand, but this is a massive budget, and they'll have to spend extra on marketing to overcome the bad reviews coming in.

I hope they get their fingers burned.

The car isn't really an issue with me. In the original movie the car was about 25 years old. In this one, the car is 25-30 years old. In '84 a 25 year old ambulance was within reason for an upstart business operating within a limited budget. In 2016, you could reach back 25-30 years. But to use the original '59 Cadillac would stretch the ability to suspend disbelief.

You are right; I suppose we can only hope that by such blatant engineering followed by dreadful results the corporations refuse to keep funding this nonsense. When you make a film based around the sex of the actors (not characters, mind) using a franchise like this as a vehicle in pursuit of some kind of political aim, you are doomed.

It's nothing to do with them being women - look at The Descent, First Wives Club, etc for good films with an all-female cast - it's thinking that being 'right on' will make the required $300,000,000 of sales, just...because we should be glad they remade something we have fond memories of.

Plus it's outrageously racist and I hope enough SJWs boycott it to really fuck the receipts up.

It's a straight reboot. While Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd et. al. have cameos in the film, according to the leaked plot they're all playing characters who have nothing to do with their characters from the original films.

Which reminds me, why another Cadillac? (Obvious callbacks to the past and currently noticed racial stereotypes excluded.)

Why not, say, a real Type II ambulance from the late 80's/early 90's. The color scheme's already there.

Much easier to mod, and in the context of the movie(s), it makes sense.
If there had been another GB movie in the 90's, I'd wager the story would have seen an upgraded vehicle.

Afterall, it's a '59 Caddy, originally. Keeping it running ain't cheap.

Women aren't funny, by the way. I'm not trying to put them down or anything but it's VERY rare for me to laugh at women who are trying to be "funny" - they just don't have the ability to deliver lines comedically like men do.

They can be funny in that awkward sort of way but not when they're deliberately trying.

That summary on reddit by the guy claiming to have worked on the film is way too long and detailed to be fake.
He even describes all the separate cameos by the original cast. (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson)


It just confirms ALL our worst fears about this film.

Despite being a billion dollar company - it has not been a good few years for Sony.

It simply does not know what to do with it's own properties. It squandered Spider-Man. Now it's going to really feel the burn with Ghostbusters.
