Excuse my ignorance if it's obvious.

Went to a Coyote Ugly type bar (I've been there a couple times before but it has been a while) and was with some friends. I go to the bar and this sexy but tattooed slanted eye black bartender opens my tab. She has seen me before but this time she asked me if I was from the area. I said no, (I'm Military) and she smiled and went to back to serving drinks.

As the night went on I danced with several girls and got some latin chick's number...whatever. It was last call and I go to the bar. I asked for one last beer and she asks me "What are you gonna buy me?". Quickly my red pill instincts (not natural but definitely learned instincts) kicked in and I replied with "I don't know if you're of age."
Bartender: "What?! (Calls over other bartender) He thinks I'm not of age. (sort of looks apalled at this point). I have to be of age to work here!"
Me: "I don't know that. (I smile smugly)."
Bartender hands me her licence. I look at it in disbelief. I chuckle.
Bartender: "Whatever. I'm closing your tab. (shoos me away with her hand)."
I leave and come back and she shoos me away again.

I go a week later and see her again. I go to the bar and she's there. I wave and smile and she looks at me in disgust. Doesn't make eye contact for the rest of the night.

What went wrong here? Or am I just too smug?

- she realizes that you're not a door mat, but she actually wants a door mat

- bringing in the bartender, suggests that she was weirdly but honestly offended
- closing out your tab and not getting you a beer was probably spiteful and unprofessional

Later on
- she still remembers how you "dissed" her.

Now I'm assuming that you weren't being rude in some other way or at some other time, and that she wasn't having a bad day. (most bartenders I know can drink for free, lol)

But in terms of game theory, she should have taken what you said as an invitation to flirt.

She didn't.

Thus this question.

Which should tell you that on the long graph of game interactions, you have outliers, and this was one of them.

I've flirted with plenty of bartenders the same way, and usually that's all it is, flirtation to get a better tip out of me.

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

I noticed a couple of IOIs from her but I have gotten responses like this from women who I've used game on or just red pill antics. I do have an ego problem but the fact that she remembers me and even harbors any type of emotion makes me curious as to why I get these butthurt responses from women.

I was dancing with a another girl close to the bar but I dont she noticed. One theory is that she's not used to responses like mine or maybe her asking for a drink was just her way flirting. I need to learn more about bartender game...I just dont trust their advances...

Hopefully someone enlightens me on this situation so I can learn from it.

Asserting what you want and not taking anything from a chick will of course push some chicks away.

One of the central questions within game is what am I willing to do to get the notch.

The folks who don't know these things, will seemingly do anything and they get poor results.

Those who know some game, stop doing everything, but the girls don't necessarily jump into your bed because you said "No".

Eventually you'll come to accept that there are girls out there that you would like to sleep with, but because you have standards of how they can treat you, and how they can behave - you will be unable to stoop to their levels for the notch.

At some point, the respect you accord yourself will interfere with sex.

You have to resign yourself to the fact.

It also helps to see the world as a place that is full of opportunity, billions of women, many of whom find you attractive and want to be in your presence, and will cooperate with you.

I feel like you did everything fine. Also, the joke was SPOT ON. This is the same kind of humor/sarcasm I try to incorporate into almost my daily life. Making extremely contradicting statements based on obvious facts. Of course she's of age if she's a bartender (although some states you can be 18 and be a bartender).

Even the fact that you smiled smugly, which to even a retarded sewer rat would indicate "ok, he's obviously trying to be playful/funny/cocky", should indicate it's a lighthearted joke. As stated previously, she's an outlier, next her and don't look back IMO.

At these Coyote Ugly type bars, the bartenders are trained and encouraged to be rude cunts to the male customers. Its part of the "draw" of it.

I'd go back there, ignore her totally and flirt with the other waitresses and bartenders, tip well and have a good time. It'll drive her nuts. The wave and smile was a weak move.

Servers have long memories - if they think you've stiffed them on a tip or treated them poorly they will often take any opportunity to pay it back.

I almost never flirt with bartenders or staff because of this reality; their demeanor is almost totally tuned to keeping the customers happy, so I never know if it's their real personality, and they are often spiteful and hold a grudge. Gals I know who work behind the bar have almost uniformly "off" attitudes.
