Two options:

1. Michael Jordan from space jam. I have the Jordan TuneSquad jersey. Could be a good move with all the 90's kids recognizing.

2. Doctor. White coat, shirt and tie (looks good and stands out), stethoscope, and prescription pad to write my name and number on. I could also play on the ebola scare... "You look like you might have ebola, I think you should come to my office and let me give you a shot". (party is at my place)

Any advice?

One Halloween I saw a girl in a military camo getup and her blonde hair in a braid.

I thought she was Cammy from Street Fighter and honestly Cammy is my girl so I started talking about that. She was Irish and with the loud music, I couldn't really understand her until she was like:

"What? I'm IRA. Bye"

I did American Psycho a few years ago. Very nice suit, red blood splattered see through rain jacket etc. I got a huge amount of attention from guys at every party/bar I went to, who all loved my costume. About 2 girls total over a weekend of wearing it understood it. Its a cool costume, but one only guys will get.

A 'sluttier' costume (lifeguard, or army Ken doll, or stripper cop or similar) would be far better for getting girls, if you're under 30 anyway.

I'm going to a friends house party and I can't decide between two very different options:

1. Tony Montana / Scarface - Suit with open neck white shirt, cigar, big arse machine gun, bag full of white stuff, wad of cash and a bit of blood spatter. Basically Tony from the end of the film.

2. Fireman. Tight blue t-shirt, blue drill pants, steel cap boots and find myself a hat from somewhere.

I'm in good shape so could pull the fireman off i think.

Fireman, no contest (if it's recognizable).

Tony Montana may get you laughs but unlikely to get you interest/recognition from girls. Guys will recognize it more for sure.

Yeah, I guess Tony Montana is the same deal as Patrick Bateman, you'd have to be a movie buff to get them.

Fire fighter it is, just need to find the hat and some red braces. Think I may have left it a bit late though, I saw a wicked costume on ebay but it won't get here in time.

I got two SNL's last weekend dressed as a doctor. You should all try it. Did my whole prescription schtick. There was a girl I wanted to bang, so I gave her a prescription saying:

Halloween is a great time to go solo. People are much more open than normal to meeting new people and costumes are a natural opener. Plus the girls are drunk and dressed slutty or crazy. The vibe is one of being wild and adventurous. The last two times I've gone out solo I got an SNL. Research good venues and go for it.

Yes, less of the target age range girls will recognize the character.

However, it's no contest even if they were equally recognizable. Typical reaction even when recognized by a girl:

While its great going solo, most of the bars are at capacity which is normally a bad thing as girls are too busy trying to find their friends or walking from one side of the venue to the other. I'll be rolling solo, have a few bar parties I RSVP'd too, but honestly, but 10pm most things will have 30-40 minute lines to get in. I'll be rolling out early, like around 7pm or so, save on the Uber Surge pricing, less crowded and if venues suck I can move to something else without the hassle of lines.

I'm shocked by the number of my single friends who are not doing anything at all. I reached out, but most are either going to really lame "couples parties" as a single guy or just staying home.

I think as I get older Halloween is my favorite holiday. Most people are getting drunk and partying, it's acceptable to be grim, and girls seem to be in a race to the bottom to come up with the sluttiest costumes possible for the past few years.

Drunk sluts and fake blood everywhere usually makes for an interesting night. I'm already seeing some of this tonight.
