As long as it wasn't Senator Armstrong, it's all cool. Hillary Clinton doesn't know shit about Nanomachines.

(I just wanted an excuse to post this image twice in one day.)

Hahaha, Senator Armstrong is the best. But no you are pretty close though, it is a Senator Armstrong like character that uses nationalism and populism to prey on the fears of the people and of course everyones' reaction is *herp derp* Trump. That wasn't what triggered me though, it was one guy saying the character is "symbol of right-wing fascism disguised as populism" as if fascism only comes from the right...

I mean these people are so cucked you should really look at their off-topic forum and see everyday there's at least 4 new threads bashing Trump. The cognitive dissonance and ignorance of these people is honestly astounding, it's like could they be any less self-aware? I should probably go back to the 'Game' forum section and read more on my framing and keeping emotions in check.

Fuckthat

Yeah, NeoGAF is not a good place to hang out. Very, very beta place.

Feel free to post any videogame related comments you have in this thread. It's mostly a witcher 3 thread these days, so it would be nice to have people talking about some other games.

I got banned on NeoGaf (a famous gaming forum) for comparing a certain character in a game to Hillary Clinton when another user had made the comparison to Trump. Now you might say I was shitposting on purpose, but I was genuinely making the assertion that was the case in MY OPINION.

Afterwards of course the typical liberal responses were made of standing on their moral high-ground acting all smug and pretending to be smarter than they actually are. It's that and the passive aggressive insults while also saying "I don't want any part of this but I'll just say you're opinion is bad while being intellectually lazy and not explain why, and here I am chiming in my two cents anyways" (you'll know immediately what I mean when I say this).

I don't understand how gamers have become so cucked, Milo made the point I believe on Joe Rogan before that because gaming challenges the mind when you are involved in solving puzzles or challenges i.e. platformer, puzzles, real-time strategy, MOBAS, etc. that they are supposed to be more critical thinkers.

Instead ever since gamergate, most of the mainstream audiences in gaming have been cucked with the same bullshit SJW mindset prevalent in other forms of media predominantly with TV, film, music, and books.

It's just so sad because video gaming as an artform is underrated when you actually think about the design perspective. It takes so much talent to program a character model to create realistic fascial animations or rendering foliage or putting the right colors in a fiery explosion, trying to get every detail as perfect as possible.

Anyways take this for what you will, but I had to get this off my chest. It's just sad to see the degeneracy that political correctness and censorship has done to ruin beautiful art forms by politicizing everything.

Milo was sucking his audience's cock. Look, if gaming is meant to make you an all-round better critical thinker, why the fuck does the concept of pre-ordering even exist? Nobody who has even a modicum of common sense buys sight unseen, yet time and again vast tranches of gamers get rooked buying a shit, unfinished game on pre-order instead of waiting for its release, deciding whether they want to waste their time on it, calmly evaluating where they can buy it cheapest, and then proceeding to purchase.

That's leaving aside that gaming is generally not about problem-solving. Not a bit. For the most part it is a human being engaging in straight Pavlovian conditioning: blow up the alien, get a little dose of dopamine, rinse, repeat. If gamers really were after challenges to make them think, there would have been endless sequels to Myst and Riven. Oh, wow, a bunch of gamers actually managed to form a team, cooperate, form a strategy, and defeat other gamers in a tournament setting? Pro-am sporting teams do that every day of their careers and have to move their asses while they do it.

Gamers as a group in my experience have always been cucked. As a group they've had neither the experience of screwing or getting screwed over by a woman (for lack of opportunity in both cases) so when some moron talks to them about equal rights they bob their heads as if it's going to get them laid, or because they actually think women don't have different brains floating in a hormonal broth. Or they affect a gentlemanly way of talking -- which includes passive-aggressiveness -- because they've been taught by a generation of overbearing mothers and absent fathers that this is the way they should behave, the way they get ahead.

Life is a zero-sum game: if you're seriously gaming you're not out getting a sense of how the real world operates, and you are much less able to critically think about politics. You are also unlikely to be cucked because your favourite area of "expertise" depends on continuing largesse from the system; you wouldn't survive in a real world, balls-out competitive situation because you don't have the practice. Your entire area of speciality, making dots move on a screen, is a nonessential, an entertainment activity (compare how the entertainment industry as a whole is lefty for want of real world life experience.) And that's before you get to the spergy side of many gamers' behaviour.

This is why I love coming here even though my post count is still not up there yet to go to 'Politics & War'. Not that I could hold a candle in a discussion with some of those guys (I'm looking at you Zelscorpion, Samseau, Neubache etc.) At least I'm learning here, and we can have disagreements while maintaining civil discord. All this sounds good and logical. But if what your saying is true, how come Gamergate ripped the bloody, still-beating heart out of its target, the game journalism industry, to the point where SJWs still speak of it in terror, while the NFL, which consists of guys who get laid all the time, is hemorrhaging viewers because it won't let go of PC bullshit?
Leonard D Neubache · 2017-05-06 03:34:00 · #2208
Beyond that, gamers are some of the most irreverent lunatics when it comes to political correctness as long as they're in their safe spaces.

Talk of faggots and fucking-your-mom and gassing jews is par for the course day in day out. I would hazard to guess that most if not functionally all of the alt-right are gamers to some degree, and there's something about playing the Nazis in a world war two game or being reduced to teabagging some guy as your only means to communicate with them that simply lends itself to not taking anything in the world as sacrosanct.

The thing is that these irreverent latch-key kids are now becoming the young adults of the West and it's bringing with it some interesting developments.

I will have to sadly take the (((tribal))) way of answering a question with a question: have you seen any major gaming journalism outfit substantively or clearly change its ways about disclosure of conflicts of interest?
Did Kotaku close down?
Gamerant?
Polygon?
Seen any red pilled or shitlording computer game lately out of anyone bar CD Projekt Red (and even Witcher 3 has buttfucker-sympathetic scenes, I'm thinking of Lambert's "relationship" with a witcher of the School of the Cat even though I try not to remember it.)

The NFL is a different kettle of fish: it is a mass popularity sport. If watching other guys play computer games (passivity at its best) were popular, you'd see the same bullshit there as well.

We have two new red-pilled gaming sites; OneAngryGamer and TechRaptor, well worth supporting.

Sadly it's true that majors are still mostly staffed by ZQ sycophants.

Lambert and Kiera Metz appear to become a couple after the battle of Kaer Morhen. She may have turned him back from the dark side.

Switching to another game, Prey is getting 'very positive' reviews on Steam. On Opencritic, with 9 reviews in so far, it is scoring a 'mighty' 89/100 .

One Steam reviewer writes:
Quote:First impressions - Fantastic.

Bioshock + System Shock + Dead Space + Deus Ex - mix them together and you get Prey.

Another reports:
Quote:Great Optimization.
Maxed out with not a drop in framerate.
Beautiful art and scenery.
Ammo is scarce so you better think what you're doing.
Rather impressive tech, especially the looking glass.
Human Revolution- Style inventory management.
Crafting that makes sense since any item you pick up can be recycled, you can make ammo and such easily.
Immersion factor is 11/10
It's pretty hard , even on normal it's a good idea to look for other paths and know when to not engage.
You do have many paths, even unconventional ones, with some careful thinking you can actually go anywhere and even skip locked doors and hazards without much problems. You are really rewarded for being patient and taking your time.
Meaty combat.
Actual tension when exploring unknown areas because anything can be a disguised alien.
Good sound mixing.
Skills have to be balanced , but allow a sneaky and tactical manuver or agressive and direct approach (or in between)
The entire ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ station seems to be fully explorable.

Many PC players are saying that it runs like a dream, Arkane apparently having learnt from the performance woes of Dishonored 2.

I managed to get a steam code for £27 from cdkeys.com, not bad for a day one price.

The protagonist, named 'Yu', is obviously oriental in race (aparently mixed Chinese/German) but that is still too white for some on Twitter!

Interestingly the E3 2016 reveal trailer showed him to be properly white and slightly Russian looking if I had to guess.

[Image: Ij6iT3B.jpg] Whitey

[Image: sLnVuQX.jpg] Yuri?

[Image: dcNIH2B.jpg]All new Oriental player character 'Yu'
.
So even that change was not enough to satisfy them. Proof that you should never give an inch.

This is originally what Prey 2 was going to be a direct sequel to the first game, but you play as a bounty hunter.

However Bethesda did some shady ass shit to the company making the game , so it ended up being cancelled. Bethesda still owned the name though so they slapped it on to the new Prey 2017.
sterling_archer · 2017-05-06 11:50:00 · #2215

technically yea but it does not have anything in common with the old series besides the name

I started playing Darkest Hour the other day and installed The Grand Campaign mod, which lets you play straight through both World Wars and the Cold War, from 1914 to 1991.

Of course, that's supposing that World War II and the Cold War even happen, since the game plays out slightly differently each time.

I've redone the first 3 to 10 years about 5 times already, because I'm still getting used to some of the games mechanics and keep getting sidetracked trying to implement these clever little strategies that don't work out the way I planned.

In one game Germany lost WWI without the US every joining, another game Russia held their own and never became the Soviet Union, another game Germany just beat the shit out of everyone and even annexed Belgium and the Netherlands and had about 50% of France before they cried mercy, and the most recent game, Germany ultimately won but not as convincingly.

Whether Austria-Hungary is useful or worthless and whether the Ottomans join the war is completely up in the air.

I'm actually playing as Japan though, since they have more freedom to play ahistorically and are strong enough but not too strong. My plan was not to involve myself in WWI and instead just take over most of East and Southeast Asia by WWII.

But like I said, I keep getting sidetracked with these plans I come up with that don't work out properly. First I had the smart idea to take the Dutch Indies, since they have a ton of oil and the Netherlands wasn't directly allied with anyone.

Of course, my naval tech in that period limits the range of my power projection, so I needed a naval base within range of the islands. And as it turns out, the safest bet was taking the Philippines from the US. It was an easy war, since my navies just totally kept them out of the Pacific, minus a few random ships that managed to sneak through from the US or Nicaragua, of all places.

Fucking stubborn Western Imperialists would only give up half of the Philippines and Guam though, but that was enough. Until I realized that attacking the Netherlands causing all of the Triple Ententre/Allies to attack me, including non-weakened Russia and their absolutely massive armies tard

Essentially I had pissed the US off for nothing and I also realized I hadn't been doing something properly with my economy, so I restarted.

In my last game, I decided to take the decision that allows you to demand Germany's Pacific holdings in return for Japan's neutrality in the war. When they declined, I declared war, thinking I could just eat up all of their islands basically unopposed and then demand them in a peace treaty.

That didn't work, unfortunately, and they preceded to just mop the floor in Europe. Not getting the islands wasn't the worst thing in the world, but entering the war fucked me up in a few ways.

My strategies in both cases were actually good, the mechanics of this game are just different from other Paradox titles in the way they handle wars.

I'm interested to see how this mod handles Germany winning the war, since it's supposed to be set up to handle different scenarios. They won in my current game, but I'm just going to focus on taking Eastern and Southeastern China, which will give me huge manpower bonuses, then build my navy and airforce so strong that I can take Indochina and Indonesia without the fucking white devils ruining my plans.

Of course, all of this was about 20 hours of my life. Paradox grand strategy titles are great if you want to totally ignore all of your responsibilities and sleep and eat less than you should.

Incredible. I can honestly imagine an older member of (((them))) talking to a younger member of (((them))) in precisely that kind of language except that they're referencing real word events, trying to convey that not everything works out the way you expect it to when you're moving the pieces around the board.

At one point I started up as the US, thinking I'd avoid the shift to interventionism that started with the first World War and only involve myself in conflict that directly served national interests (invading Canada, for instance Angel), but then I looked across my vast industries and relatively isolated geographic location and thought, "Well, this is a little boring, isn't it? You'd have to try to fuck this up".

@Enigma download the Kaiserreich mod for Darkest Hour if you want the what if Germany won WWI scenario.

Also I love playing Austria-Hungary mainly because I always get bummed out by how much militarily Austria failed in its history with notable exception. Also a generally fascinating play through if you decide to turn against Germany then go full world conquest but very difficult.

I got back to playing Grand Theft Auto III on Steam recently going for 100% completion. I love listening to the talk radio stations in these games, it's pretty hilarious. Chatterbox is hilarious where Lazlow talks with weirdos most of the time. I see now that the GTA games from 3 to now are mostly spoofs of American gangster and heist films as well as American culture. I laugh when the stereotypes comes up in the political stations.

The Friday the 13th game is coming out in a few weeks and I'm looking forward to it.

I think that just shows the wide appeal of gaming to a lot of demographics. The logical, redpilled side are very competitive and/or strategic and also like playing deep games with a lot of meaning.

However, games also appeal to cosplay/fandom/geek/SJW fags as well.

I'd also say people who're into professional sports but don't actually play(but just sit around on the couch watching others) are generally more cucked than gamers.
