Hey Fellow Travelers,

For those who have had an extensive stay in Davao, just curious if you have come across a good sports bar? Most Sunday NFL games are 1PM EST, 4:15PM EST and 8:30PM EST on Sunday so I would need a sports bar that operates 12 hours ahead of those times. Found a spot in Pattaya a few years back that was open 24/7 so hoping to also find a spot in Davao!

I will be there for most of October and want to catch some key games if possible.

I am sure my hotel room may have ESPN through satellite but unclear if they will carry some of the top American channels (Fox, CBS and NBC).

If anyone has any info. on a good location where the football action can be viewed, please let me know!

There's a sports bar owned by this German cat in this little alley of bars/restaurants off Rizal St. Not even sure if that fits the description though. Not sure anywhere in Davao does actually, with the alcohol curfew and lack of foreigners.

But I'll try to remember to ask someone tomorrow and at least get the name of that bar, if I can.

There's a bar on the outskirts of town run by some expats. It says they show American sports but you'd need to get in touch to confirm they show NFL, and it's a bit out of the way if you have other things going on. http://www.driftersdavao.com/piratespub.html

The Eagles Bar in Marco Polo hotel also shows a lot of sports, they'll probably show it up until 2am if you ask them.

Edit: I never visited this place, but I heard it has bowling, pool, darts etc. Could be worth trying incase they have sport on TV as well. https://plus.google.com/105599576698294792756/

When I did my Google search, the only thing that came back was. "Tim Tebow, born in Manila was building a hospital in Davao"

...I didn't know Tim Tebow was born in the Philippines.

That's actually perfect since I am staying in the downtown area. I will check out this place when I arrive next weekend. Thanks Enigma!

I will post updates here in case any other future travelers are looking for a good sports bar while in Davao!

FYI you can get NFL Gamepass and ESPN College Football Game Pass and just watch the games in HD on your computer too. Nice option to have when you just want to watch a game and not go to a bar.

Just to update any other RVF members who are looking for NFL or NCAA action while in Davao...

I tried all suggestion above and had no luck with the majority of options. I purchased the Smart unlimited data for 1000php (good for 30 days) and got the NFL GamePass 1 week trial. I was Tethering off my mobile to get good signal. Wifi was hit or miss at some hotels. Since I have numerous email accounts and a few credit cards, I was able to take advantage of the FREE 1 week subscription 4x!
