Whether this video accurately depicts this guy's situation or NOT there appears to be a few attributes that are out of place and makes this guy the far exception of homelessness rather than a reflection of any wide-spread phenomenon.

Yes, his physical appearance and attributes demonstrates that his homelessness is in the very earliest of stages, and likely the longer that he is on tthe street, the more deterioration that there is going to be in his physical health, his mental health and his presentation of himself.

Currently, he seems to be describing his situation and his daily activities as a form of liberation - that when he gets up each day that he "can do whatever the fuck that he wants," but even weaved within this positive statement is the idea that others should NOT try this and others cannot pull this off.

Maybe also he can "pull this off" in NYC because for some reason he has found a niche and there are enough people willing to give him money (at least under the current situation) in order that he can eat "fairly well."

In the end, many of us seem to agree that he is NOT going to be able to keep up this gig for very long (and maybe even agree that there is some wasted talent, here). If he does NOT come up with a plan to get himself out of his current situation, then this cat is going to develop considerable regrets in the coming years.

Also, by the way,as we know, the street can be very rough, I remember seeing this very handsome and well built young (in his mid-20s) black guy in the streets of west LA. Then one day he is wearing bandages and he got really fucked up over some trivial altercations. I continued to see him on the streets for years and years after his beat down, and he was never really the same after that in terms of appearance and energy. It is even possible that some of the good looking and in shape homeless people may get targeted (once they are known) by some haters for some hater beat down.... maybe to teach them a lesson regarding what it really means to "have to be" on the streets.

^ Yes, that's what I was getting at in my post. That this guy is a trainwreck.

Anyhow, I think rather than arguing over whether his calculations are fully realistic or not (are they ever?), whether his lifestyle is ideal (it obviously isn't), or whether it's sustainable (he's clearly on a fast track to major burnout and loserdom), we should consider the real takeaway here. The guy is basically a bum and still pulling plenty of ass.

It's a reminder to newbs that excuses for not getting laid are just that and nothing more. Nothing more, nothing less. Social skills and game can carry you a damn long way.

As a side note, if I was on the verge of homeless, one of my first instincts would be to lock down a mediocre chick and milk her for all it was worth. My pride might keep me from doing it, but I have been tempted during hard times and definitely would be tempted if I was almost on the streets. A good emergency plan at least until you get on your feet again - women are nurturing by nature, and it's not hard to find ones that want to take care of you when you're down and out, especially since so many work in this day and age.

If this guy had a desire for a more stable existence, he'd latch on to one of these broads and leverage himself into a normal life again, but he's obviously too caught up in getting wasted and avoiding adulthood.

I live in NYC and this video was on my facebook feed.

A good number of people have made comments saying that see this guy "everyday" on their way to work. Apparently he was crashing around 23rd and Park for a while, but has recently disappeared from there.


It does seem like there has got to be more to the story, but the basic gist of it may be true. 150$ a day is a reasonable sum, I have heard many times that $100 a day is what most "savvy" homeless people are able to make. And he never claimed that these girls he mooches off were attractive.

There is no way in hell he'll be able to survive winter, though. As it is, he got really lucky in that we had an unusually very mild summer this year.

I never really thought about there being a moral to that particular story, except I was merely attempting to relay a situation that I saw evolve over the years of a deteriorating state from a young guy who appeared to have so much potential and good looks, who had evolved to a state of appearing to age and physically deteriorate very quickly and severely.

I suppose if there were any moral to any such story would be that if you place yourself into risky situations, then sooner or later the odds are gonna catch up with you.

Some people may believe that they do NOT have a choice in their particular situation (especially if running on some bad luck), but I suppose the degree of choice depends, in part, upon a guy trying to figure out a strategy for his long term rather than staying in a particular state that may be leading nowhere (that is if he can envision such lack of a future). Therefore, it will be much better if it appears that a guy has more options while he still has strength, youth and energy.. and if he can identify the use of such attributes within himself to get himself out of his particular path.

I do NOT know the guy's particulars (including his mental abilities) beyond his looks and some of the story about what had happened to him.

I have placed myself in some fairly risky situations for short periods of times and did a lot of shit that was, in retrospect pretty stupid and risky, but I would imagine that my level of risk and stupidness is NOT anywhere near the same level of risk (and potentially stupidness) that some guys experience if they are sleeping on the streets for years.

The guy in the video characterized some of his plight as free spirit, and I suppose it is a matter of perspective and a matter of thinking if this short term satisfaction is a good or decent long term plan (especially when he seems to have some logic abilities).

I highly doubt the guy is sleeping on the streets during his 'off nights'. A bed at the hostel is definitely affordable with the money that guy claims to be pulling. Regarding how clean he looks... I'd say the dude has a membership to a cheap gym like the Y. That way he can shower and clean-up when ever he needs. I don't doubt his numbers though. He really does nothing all day so pullin' bitches becomes his main gig.

b) do multiple short dates a day for girls that you are willing to date to get the bang
c) release the girl after the first night you bang
4) take good care of yourself to prevent getting colds
5) keep things fresh by banging different types of girls
6) keep things easy by finding a workflow that makes things easy for you
7) keep yourself comfortable and positive by locking down the bars you go to

I've been to NYC too, and I have seen plenty of fatties.. both guys and girls... though I do NOT pay as much attention to guys.. and I would NOT really know if a girl would get down on a guy for his being fat - because I have seen plenty of decent girls with fat guys.

Surely our opinions can vary about whether the guy in the video appears to be fat (we certainly did NOT see a shirtless picture or some tight clothes on him), but I did NOT consider the guy to appear fat in any kind of repulsive way, and he seemed generally attractive in his physical appearance.. no homo...

Even saying all that I am NOT really very clear about whether a girl would consider him handsome or NOT or what kinds of girls would find him acceptable to bang or to hang out with... like some other guys have said, in this thread, his circumstance may cause a certain desperation and even appeal to the maternal side of the woman if he can charm them while saying that he has run into some bad luck concerning lodging.. food, etc...

I watched the video and kept waiting for any mention of him taking a shower. Didn't hear anything mentioned. does he go to a gym? I guess if he's getting $150/day then yeah, but you'd have thought he would mention that detail as glowing as his skin is. I grew up in Louisiana and even one weekend without a good shower will leave my arms resembling something out of an X-Men movie.

I play music on the street corner with a homeless drummer nearly every friday and sat night. He's homeless by choice...a party animal who uses all his money on vices.

He swings from girl to girl getting lodging and resources. Think Tommy Lee with short hair. He's 34 and shows no signs of slowing down.

What's more, we play in the middle of the crowded bar area of our city and the ONLY girls that come up and start a conversation/dance to our music are the truly confident girls...ie usually 8+ in talent. The girls that talk shit and are POF/OKC famous can't huck it to put themselves out there. Same with dudes. You get some of the coolest guys in town grabbing a chick's hand and starting a mini-dance party on the corner. Kind of Xyzz-esque stuff. True confidence. And they all stick around to network/have a beer...there's very little competitive out-alpha bs among these guys because none of their resources are limited in any way...they have money and usually a few girls with them. If anything they introduce the single girl in the group who isn't with anyone for the night. Cool motherfuckers.

There's no darkness, no blasting music to hide anyones fears. It really cuts to the core and brings out a person's true self. It's given me a lot of perspective since I got into it a few months ago.

I absolutely believe Fisto's stories...I even think Fisto downplayed just how much action he saw...and have seen this drummer pull it off since I met him. Hell some nights I get offered 'lodging' because they just assume I'm homeless/hooked on vices as well.

The funniest part is that I started using a cheap flip phone when I go out bc I kept losing my phone...now girls will comment "oh I love broke musicians!! lol omg lol" when they see my phone and rush to buy me a beer or bring me a slice of pizza or tell me where the afterparty is

Unrelated but important, between playing music in the street and playing in a venue...if you're looking for social benefits playing on the street is 10x more likely to get you action

Btw Fortis, my drummer and I pull anywhere from $15-30/hr each when we play on weekend bar nights. Usually $10-15/hr each playing weekday nights/ downtown during the day. Outside sporting events you can reach up to $40-50/hr each, especially football games when people are drunk from tailgating. There's times where you'll make more, sometimes less, but those are pretty fair averages
