I came across this article in Canada's National Post - it has excerpts from Ok Cupids famous dating preferences for men and women. This book "DataClysm - what we really want/do when no one is looking" sounds like a scientific codification of man red pill ideas we already know. But, it's good to see these things going mainstream.

Saw a piece on this book over at fivethirtyeight.com this week. One graph says it all about what age is most attractive in the opposite sex. Women from ages 20 to 50 all said roughly their own age (ie: a 34 year old woman finds 34 year old men sexiest). For men, it was a straight line saying 20 years old was the sexiest in a women.

I'm now 93 pages in out of 265. Good stuff so far. Some red pill knowledge is confirmed, such as sexual marketplace value of men/women at different ages. Now you've got something to reference other than Roosh or Rollo if you can't control the urge to speak the truth in public. There's a view on relationship stability based on network theory, which explains why girls who want to lock you down try their best to get you to introduce them to various parts of your network.

Part 2 starts out with observations on race, which might even be contentious here. Some observations from the data (seemed like common sense to me): black women are penalized (seen as less attractive due to race) by all races, black men are penalized by all races other than black, Asians penalize blacks the hardest, Asian men are penalized by all races other than Asian BUT Asian women prefer white men significantly more, and basically everyone is attracted to white men and women. One interesting observation was that black women looking to hookup actually prefer Asians to whites (whites get -22% on DateHookup, Asians get +9%). Didn't see that one coming. Also, if you're a minority but can even remotely BS being part white, you should do it. That said, the penalty for being black goes down if you leave America - smaller penalty in Canada, and almost none in the UK or Japan.

Data observations on beauty: it's MUCH more important to be good looking if you're a woman and bonuses for being good looking are non-linear (difference between being a 4 and a 5 is much less than being a 9 and a 10).

I want to get the book but it seems like it would mostly be stuff that I already know. The stuff about blacks and Asian men being penalized I think is almost common knowledge. On the flip side, black men are actually considered more attractive than other races when controlling for IQ according to certain studies (http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Ado....0031703), so there must be some factor other than attractiveness that explains why black men are getting penalized so heavily in online dating.

I'm also very surprised to hear that black woman prefer Asians over white men for hooking up. Doesn't fit common intuitions...
Also would think there is some penalty for blackness in Japan.

The Sunday Times (in the UK & Ireland) had an article on this last weekend. It's quite shocking to read the blatant irresponsible use of the word 'racist'.
On two occasions in said article, the author calls white (and other non-black ethnicities) 'racist', because their preference tends to be for non-black women.
It's becoming more and more common now to see this sort of nonsense in the newspapers over here.
While I'm glad my eyes are open now, it seems like 99% of the populace here are oblivious to it and just go along with the popular narrative they're fed by the MSM.
