RE: Uncle Tom Reporter tries to punk Mike Tyson (video)
Honestly, that's what reporters do: they ask sensationalist questions that are difficult to answer. It's not all positive-positive. I don't really see anything wrong per-say with that reporter's question, because that's what reporters do in this day and age.
This sensationalist question got a TMZ-worthy sensationalist answer, which is just what he was looking for.
I'm actually surprised Mike Tyson had that outburst - smile or not - because I thought he would have been more media-savvy than that, but hey - Mike is Mike. I guess when you're Mike you don't need to know how to reframe.

Yea but that was Toronto, a watered down PC city. To ask that of question, was out of hand. America like to ask sensationalist questions but not in Toronto. Now, yes reporters can ask 'sensationalist' questions and they can also risk getting smacked in the gob for being out of pocket.

The difference here is that the reporter crossed the line from asking serious newsworthy questions to personal insult. What the fuck does Tyson's rape conviction from 30 years ago have to do with anything? Nothing. He served his time and that's that.
"Does the fact that you're a convicted rapist mean...." This is what he said.
It's an indisputable insult. He's injecting a prejudicial comment into a question, which is likely to inflame the passions of anyone listening.
This had nothing to do with "asking hard questions" or any journalistic issue like that. He obviously doesn't care for Tyson and think's he can bait him. It's bitch behavior, the type of shit a woman would do.
Watch the video again...you can see Tyson's gears turning, trying to decide if he should leap out of his seat and turn the interviewer's teeth in to Chicklets. Fifteen years ago, he would have. But he's mellowed...

The reporter was trying to create drama where there was none. Who was saying that the mayor meeting Mike Tyson was going to cause problems because of the rape? No one. The reporter did that bitch move where he says, "I'm just doing my job." No, he's making himself part of the story.
That said, I'll bet anything that Mike's answer helped rather than hurt his ticket sales.
Controversy draws a crowd. If Mike had given a tepid answer, would anyone of us be talking about the interview now?
RE: Uncle Tom Reporter tries to punk Mike Tyson (video)
Wow, how can you even defend a POS reporter like that like that? He could've worded his question differently but he wanted to get that jab in on Tyson.
Anywho, keep "Uncle Tom" in the title because that's what this fool is. As much as I hate that phrase, it applies perfectly here. A smug, self-important news reporter who doesn't contribute anything of real significance to society tries to one-up one of the greatest fighters in history. I see this kinda of smugness quite frequently among edumucated blacks who haven't ever contributed anything of real significance to the world other than get some liberal arts degrees and get affirmative action jobs.

Buddy, it's a daytime tv spot where Mike was coming in to talk about his performance. That venue is not the time to throw out insulting questions about a bullshit charge that took place 20 plus years ago. [edit 30! years ago]
Outburst? Tyson did EXACTLY what he wanted to do. Call out a punk for being a punk "you look like a nice guy but really you're a piece of shit".
You don't think that's the definition of reframe?

The reporter/Today show wannabe was probably told to ask him that by his producer, most likely because they get low ratings. No, he wasn't there to do a hard hitting interview. Mike was coming in to do business; sell his show, and probably advertise on that dinky TV station for the performance. The reporter was trying to hype ratings with a predictable page ripped out of the Matt Lauer playbook. You could see it in Mikes face, "Here I am coming in to do this city and this station a favor, and they try and derail my show." But Mike handled it well, and he took the whole thing down since they were taking him down. A classic move, probably learned in the ring and by promoting with Don King.

Without going into detail on a public forum, I've worked with the interviewer in passing. Felt good to watch his smug ass get served live on television.
RE: Uncle Tom Reporter tries to punk Mike Tyson (video)
Fuck, that reporter was a little prick. I'm not a Mike Tyson fan by any means, but that tweet bothered me. In addition to not knowing how to spell "Unfortunately" that reporter was such a little bitch. He talks about how he thinks he hurt Tyson's feelings, when he was the one pissing his pants during the interaction. He's a fucking wannabe Internet tough guy, heading online to talk shit because he's afraid to say it to Tyson's face(like most people would be).
And of course the manginas on reddit agree with him, what a cesspool of a site.

The oddest thing about the interview, which no one else seems to have mentioned explicitly, is just how passive aggressive this little shit is. Mentioning the rape conviction is predictable troll behavior. But then this pussy has the gall to wince and chide Mike, "come on Mike." That's like me slapping you in the face and when you punch back, I say, "hey, now you're just being unreasonable."
Mike handled it well, but this response was the greatest of all time for anyone: the I'll fuck you til you love me soliloquy.
I thought this interview with him was hilariously droll.

I loved that stuff. Too often those reporters cannot be called out on their backhanded insults and bullshit.
Tyson's image would not be hurt by this. And I don't think that he thinks this through anyway. Anyone goading Mike Tyson like this is just nuts.
I wish many more economists and businessmen would be calling out those propaganda mouthpieces more. I want to see once a PhD go full retard on those guys and say: "I tell you paid pieces of turd what the problem is:...." Good that at least Mike Tyson or Russell Brand can do that:
Or this bodyguard calling out the CNN reporter on his racism bait:
Discussing with the media heads in my opinion is about as useful as talking to a minion in Goebbels propaganda ministry. Does not matter shit, since they are just mercenaries of the mind war following orders for a paycheck and some fame.
Sometimes you see guys on TV who are really the movers and shakers or are really in the know. They are more often amused about the antics of the media heads. They know it is just for show and mind-control of the general population and they treat them like that.

Ricky raw has a post on Rearden dealing with these Passive Aggressors.
Quote: The intellectual Passive Aggressor creates an environment where being in open conflict or punching a guy in the face for being a dick is shameful, evil and barbaric while sarcasm and snarkiness are the most admirable, mature way to engage in conflict. This intellectual smokescreen that disguises the true nature of the conflict
These pricks are the ones you gotta be on the look out for "They throw rocks and hid their hands"
Quote:I always hear other men complain about having to watch out for alpha males in social situations, but I think in our feminized society this is an outdated concern. You have more to worry about from a beta male sneakily chipping away at you in a social situation with subtle, cutting remarks calculated to make you look bad while looking somewhat innocent in nature. These people have spent a lifetime honing these bitch skills, and to compete with them on it when you are not used to being in that mindset is suicide, similar to being a weekend warrior who picks up a basketball once a month at the playground going up against an NBA player. People like this, the Mo Roccas and Stephen Colberts of the world, usually spend just about every waking moment looking for an opportunity to be sarcastic or snarky, and have also gotten the balance between passive and aggressive just right to the point they can always deny having done anything wrong.

That was really funny and it made my day, but what the hell did I just watch?
I don't think the reporter was intentionally trying to entice Tyson, but his choice of words was wrong. He could have said something like, "some critics would argue because of your past" not "because you're a convicted rapist," that's been a touchy subject for all of Mike's career.

This is a great piece written on passive-aggressive types. I have dealt with these bitch made simps the most and what he says is absolutely true. With passive aggressive types you have to expose their covert aggression first so you can come at them with justifiable confrontation. They hate it when you get up in their face especially when they slip up and openly insult you. Besides the snobbier western euros in his example..the typical hipster, many asians, and the majority of upper middle class suburban types are very passive-aggressive too.
Some passive-aggressive behavior is also part of full blown personality disorders. Narcissists and some avoidant personality types are by nature passive-aggressive.

This is classic. Thanks for sharing this, Thomas. Made my day so far....

RE: Uncle Tom Reporter tries to punk Mike Tyson (video)
If your producers tell you to say a line like that refuse it. If they tell they may fire you, offer to re-word it. Lots of news reporters especially big name ones, re word and cross shit out all the time. If they refused that, go rogue and reword it while it's rolling live like Reroutebackwards just suggested. If they write you up for it, fuck it. Take the write up. Making enemies with elite NYC people that love Tyson and Tyson himself is not that great for your career either.
Uncle Tom, while a bit strong for this case, is certainly applicable. You do not have to full on support another brother, but damn don't try and tear him down on national television giving more people to use as ammo against him and all other "Angry Black Men or "Angry Men" in general. I wish there was a new version of Uncle Tom but for all races, not just black, because Bitch Move and emasculated is not good enough for this situation. I'm sick of other men not having another man's back out here. It's hard enough out here in today's economic climate. He has a family to feed. We all have our own race to run, at our own individual pace, and we all need the same results. The least we can do is not tear each other down.

I don't either but that reporter was a little bitch. The way he seamlessly slipped that shit in there was a surprise attack on Mike. You could tell Tyson was taken aback by it for a moment or two because it was a complete verbal sucker punch, the kind little bitches like the reporter specialize in.
They need to be called out and clowned on.

Tyson knows that was just the devil trying to tempt him yet again. He knows better these days that violence cannot solve everything. Mike Vick had to go through similar shit I recall. As long as he does not fall for the okeydoke, he will be alright. If his bi polar flares up bad enough though, that might be a good time for people to run.
