In your case I'd get the iPhone 6. The iPhone 4 came out, what, 4 years ago? Smartphones have improved drastically since then.

If you're impressed with the 4's camera then you'll be even more impressed with the 6's because it's better than the 4 in pretty much every way.

Another reason why'd I'd go with the 6 is because soon Apple won't provide updates for earlier versions of the iPhone; anything lower than the iPhone 4s is pretty much obsolete in Apple's eyes.

Case in point: The 4 won't be able to get iOS 8.

Question to those who have bought the IPhone 6:
How is the battery? Is it as crappy as the one on the Iphone5? Or is it as solid as the one on the 4?

That's my main concern before buying it. I bought a brand new iPhone5C in April, the phone is cool but the battery is awful. Have to charge to twice a day just to get through the day!

So how is the battery on the 6 guys?

They're not using sapphire crystal for the touch screen. No mention of what it's made of.

I think the battery is almost double the size. If I could get 12-15 hours without having to charge I'd be ok with that.

The battery should be pretty good. With my brightness at the lowest setting, motion effects disabled and background app updates off, I can get through the whole day with my 5s without having to charge it. If the 6 has double the battery life of the 5s then that's pretty good.

@Parlay: they're using the same retina screen. They haven't changed much except for a new processor and a bigger screen.

Can someone break down the difference in the processors, I'm not really techie, so I don't understand the difference if any. And also, I've heard you can do more with an android. jeebus christ, they are saying they won't get more of the 6 plus until end of october at the verizon website. I might have to go in and try preordering at their brick and mortar, though I don't think it will be that much different..

I have a pretty sweet deal with verizon as a 'loyalty' customer, only 60$/month for unlimited phone and text + 2 gigs of data. I don't really care about having to wait a month to get the phone, but I will have to upgrade on my droid razr maxx eventually.

My boss just got the 6 plus on Verizon. I got to play with it for a little bit. I think the size is good. It's also very light like the Galaxy phones. It feels a little fragile to me. I preordered mine on AT&T. Still waiting to get it.

just bought the 6 plus 16 gig through costco.com for $277 + tax(was about 350 after tax, that includes an accessory pack). there are a some left on costco.com at least at the time of this posting. if you don't like to wait in lines or wait a month for a restock, I would say to get one from them. You do NOT have to be a member of costco to buy from their website. Hope some of you find this useful.

It's unreal. But they sell something physical and real and immune to software reverse-engineering, not like Myspace or Yahoo, who incidentally did something great and own a good chunk of Ali Baba.

Apple has a wide, wide moat-- it would be more or less impossible to duplicate their synergy of engineering, pricing power, software integration, and brand recognition. Haters please state engineering credentials before bloviating.

Even here, girls I'm with turn up their noses at their own perfectly good Samsung Android phones. They want an iPhone.
I had an Galaxy mini for a couple years and beat it to death, not as sleek as an iPhone but very well built.

Meh, owning an Apple product doesn't make one a fanboy. I'll be buying a Mac Air soon. Fanboys are the irrational types who'll rationalize every fault of the product. They only buy it because it's from Apple.

I remember a comment from a tech blog on the Apple Watch and the dude said that no one would be so excited about the Apple Watch if it was the Vizio Watch even if it had the same hardware and software and the same features. Me? I'd still buy the Mac Air even if it was the Samsung Air as long as it had the same thinness, and the 12 hour battery life
