If a person actually lived there (or the Philippines for that matter) would the easy bangs eventually run out? Would you go through all the foreigner-hunters within a year or two? Or would the supply constantly replenish itself?

I met a few Westerners who owned or co-owned some really nice bars and restaurants aimed at the upper crusts. Another was involved in the mining sector. Came across some Dutch businessmen taking advantage of their former colony's resources. Others are diversifying their manufacturing from solely China into Indonesia. Tech space is also growing, apps like GoJek and Grab are utilizing the large number of low-wage earners into demand-based services. I mean, you can order a massage to your place through an app for a small fraction of what you'd pay in the US. There's an upcoming presidential election so should be interesting how the winner approaches foreign investment.

Regarding the one black dude, it was at Dragonfly, which is table oriented but by the time I got there, midnight, people were already mingling about the common areas. And yea, anyone can ultimately get used to a city, but just not for me. I like fresh air

And has anyone experienced the local girls being super clingy? As in wanting to spend the whole day with you after a ONS and then the next day, etc? Was my experience, albeit with a small sample.

FYI all Immigrant is shutting it's doors with the final closing party this Saturday 2 Feb.

Place had long since gone to shit despite their best efforts to recapture the old glory days. But for those who are in Jakarta this weekend it might be worth going this Saturday as I would expect a decent enough crowd to turn up for their final night

Shame as I had that place completely on lock back in the day. Man I had some real great parties in there both with my buddies and with other RVFers, and boy did I smash some banging chicks from there too.

End of an era... :(

Small Jakarta trip report just finished six days in South Jakarta and north Jakarta very worthwhile and would encourage all to come. I stayed by the serayan city mall in the south and then By golden crown in the north . the chicks here are 5 times hotter than the ones in the Philippines and on par with the girls in Vietnam/Thailand the only drawback of the place is that as written before the traffic is absolutely awful , I like to walk in the city I visit and it is not possible here at all. if you’re going to come here it does require an extensive amount of research to find either a bar or a club but there are more respectable ones in the south, but you will still need to taxi everywhere jakarta definitely worth a visit, Surabaya will be next. Recommend , Fable, empirica , Brewerkz, Jenja (very south) Golden crown semi pro

I went there in Sept and the service was wack, but outside of that it wasn't all that bad. People there are pretty chill from my experience, been there maybe three times in the past year.

In a city with 20-30 million people there are more girls turning 18 every day and moving there than you could ever possibly bang.

I actually planned to checked out Jakarta but the accommodations situation seems a bit of a let down, at least in the central places.

The Airbnb's in the price range I'm used to in the region receive horrendous reviews (seem like absolutely neglected units), and that's a huge red flag if it's Airbnb, where reviews are normally overly positive even for shitty flats.

Reasonably priced 3 star hotels (at a good location) also receive shitty reviews overall. Even for international names like Ibis I'm repeatedly reading "this hotel isn't up to Ibis standards" and so on.

Looks like I have to fork more than I want to just for a decent place to stay (not run down, no cockroaches, sewer smell etc), or book a place that is not central and deal with the traffic and bad logistics (bad idea).

Maybe if you book way ahead (a couple of months or more) you can catch a decent place to stay at a reasonable price though. Or just be willing to pay more. I wanted to stay for a month so paying double what I'm used to for the whole period is a no go.

Coupled with my complete disinterest in the city (excluding pussy), pollution levels which are the worst in the region and so on, I'm skipping it for now. I guess Jakarta is just opposite the line I'm willing to cross just for supposedly easy pussy with no added value on top of that.

Have fun for me whoever is there, you have one less horny mofo to compete with

Up to $35 per night for Airbnb, add a few dollars for hotels. The standard for these prices seems lower in Jakarta comparing to 'similar' cities in the region.

Judging by multiple AirBnb and booking.com reviews, Thamrin residence which has been mentioned multiple times on the forum seems like a condo building I would normally blacklist in a city like Manila.
