So what was all of that? Dominican guys forcing haitian women into prostitution or what? Or me being a drama queen and my imagination running wild.

My imagination could be running wild too but depending on the visibility of the (presumably) alley the back door opened up to you could have been jumped and robbed or worse.

I think playing it safe with the double taxi was the right call. Best case scenario you get some, worst case you lie cut up in a gutter. I dont have to run that math twice.

Dominican girls are known for that: when they feel you are about to kick them out, they'll wait till you are away for a few hours, will come with their whole family, - brothers, cousins etc, and just clean your place up, up to the last lightbulb. The mentality of a typical barrio chica: if she spends months living with a rich gringo (they are all rich to Dominicans without exception), and in the end she shows up back at the campo at her parents' with absolutely nothing to show for it, - no marriage, no US visa, no material spoils of any kind, that's a catastrophic FAIL, and everyone in a 3 miles radius will gossip about it. As long as she has at least a couple of couches in tow, her time wasn't for nothing.

As far as violence from girls, I only heard about it with connection to hookers and drugs - as long as you don't mess with that, should be fine. Overall, letting DR girls move in is a huge no-no.

Yeah I knew a fellow american friend living down there that was dating a beautiful, educated, english speaking dominican for two years and when they broke up she stole his car that he had just bought about a month prior.

Well what was funny was the back door led to my hotel which was right next door. I don't think she was leading me to get robbed as she didn't specify a certain way but you still make a good point.

Shes giving me these strange vibes and how we should leave together but through the back door. I tell her I don't pay for sex and she says thats fine thats not what shes here for. I'm a few beers in but still fairly sober... and I start to notice the eyes of several men inside the bar staring at me (we're on beachchairs in the sand). I get weirded the fuck out, walk into the bar past several dudes that could murder me in an instant, hop on a moto and get the fuck out. I have the driver drop me off a few miles away downtown, hop another moto and go back to my hotel. I spent the rest of the night thinking about her and what could of been... but I feel I did the right thing.

So what was all of that? Dominican guys forcing haitian women into prostitution or what? Or me being a drama queen and my imagination running wild.

A single beautiful young Haitian at night in a Cabarete beach bar, "a bit forward" and suggesting to leave together? of course, she is a hooker. The guys were just wondering when you'd be done with her so they can line up another potential customer - I am sure she was banging some guy in less than 30 minutes if she was really hot. There used to be a bar called Bamboo whose owner had a lock on pretty Haitian hookers in Cabarete, was that it? (changed the name/ambience now). Not sure why she wouldn't name the price - perhaps it was really late and she was happy to take whatever you'd offer. Good call on just leaving if you weren't going to drop any cash because it's not worth the drama that would follow. I don't think you were in any physical danger though: that beach is small and has constant tourist police presence, especially at night, - you can basically point a finger at a local and they will spend a night in jail till further investigation. Just never do 2 things: avoid paying a hooker and ask for any drugs, however mild, as you will be set up.

RE: The Dominican Republic. A Cautionary Tale?
While i admit that the DR has a lot of girls with shady values, I think DR women are getting too bad of a rep. Stay away from hood rats for relationships and you will get rid of 95% of that drama.

All of that aside, if you want to avoid all of this, just make sure she's really into you. I've never had any problems with this because I will only trust a girl that I can see is really into me (anywhere in the world). Even in the West, once her attraction for you starts going, that's when she will fuck you over.

I agree and I dated other dominican girls without incident, apart from the usual female drama. But with the girl I referenced in my original post I just wasn't sure about her and felt like she was up to something. But I could be wrong which is why wrote the post, just to get others perspective.

Plenty more in the sea. I'm always very skeptical of 3rd world lizards especially since I have 1st world status.

This kind of thing happens in the Philippines too, unfortunately quite common with stores if murder by ex-girlfriend. In Thailand they have a better understanding of the con/long-game, so rarely need to go to those extremes.

But damn those Dominicanas are hot, browsed some monger site by accident (true story), and even the hookers were would bang all around. Black booty, slim, with a bit of latin mix, perfect.

Simply put, if you stay away from drugs and prostitutes and don't let girls live with you, you drastically reduce the chances that things like the O.P. described will happen to you.

Cabarete is hooker / scammer / murdered ex-pat central.

I lived in the DR for 8 months.

Used to hear of a different murder every week.

Agreed. Having hung around with 20Nation, all his girls are extremely attracted to him and none of them give them any bullshit that other members report(like trying to get money out of him, bullshit like that). Its because he only bangs girls that are truly attracted to him, and runs extremely good comfort game.

@Merenguero
Correct, I wasn't in DR to game. Long story.

@ASOT
Heh, the tens of millions of men who aren't attracted to black or red skin, we're in the closet. Just please don't tell anybody, mmkay?
Joshing aside, good for you chocolate lovers, you have that field to yourselves.

@RIslander
When I was there (north coast, Cabarete and Sosua) there was a German guy in his thirties who owned a P4P bar. He said he had them well-trained, they wouldn't even look at (let alone approach) a bar patron until the patron ogled them first. I stumbled across the place one weeknight while wandering randomly and was the only patron in the establishment at that moment. Most expensive gin and tonic I ever had in DR, and the guy was understandably disappointed when I told him I'd no interest in P4P. IIRC he had four or five girls there, all Haitians, very dark-skinned but model-thin. They exuded a meek and compliant vibe, probably all illegals.

@moma
OK, a country run by Japanese boys would be exactly the same. My bad.
