Just found out that my friends wife has been having an affair with another guy in our social circle.

One of our female friends sent me screenshots of text messages of the conversation they had about it.

I'm fucking disgusted.

Engineer has a point. If you think he would divorce over this, he better get all his shit organized for it. I.e. evidence, move assets, etc. Do they have kids?

They have assets and a shit load of debt. No kids. I'm sure he would get fucked over in the divorce.

And it makes it worse that the problem would explode beyond just their relationship. All of their careers are very closely connected and this coming out would mean the definite destruction of careers and lives.

I thought of her as a good friend. Up until an hour ago when I found out this shit. My buddy is such a good guy too. But we all know what happens to good guys.

Also this comes a couple days after I learned one of my regular was a raging lying slut. She had me 100% convinced she was a good girl. Turns out everything she had said to me was a complete lie.


I've been sucker punched by the red pill this week. Time to back peddle, gain footing, and throw a mean right cross right back.

I havent decided.

Unfortunately the guy shes fucking has some real bad dirt on me and would undoubtedly try to bring me down with him.

Right now I just simply can't do it. I need to get myself in a better position to protect myself from the fallout. Yes he is my good friend, but I'm not starting my life over from square one because I feel like telling him is the right thing to do.

I do see myself separating myself from that social circle. I can't be around that shit knowing what I know.

I've noticed that when an affair gets caught its always because a female friend of woman leaks it out, women love drama.

Try to find out a way to get her caught by the husband, find out where she is meeting him and arrange for a way to have your buddy at the same location. Pretty much don't tell him outright, just lead him to the truth.

Any way to have the info get to him without people pinning it on you?

Edit: Maybe that girl that shared with you will do it. Or she shared with others who have less at risk. If you are in this social circle, I bet she is dying to let everyone know what is going on. Just a little vague prompting might get her to do it. Just don't text anything suggestive. This way it is all he said she said if you get accused for leaking. There has to be a way to help your friend and not get burned. But she is a whore. What was she thinking, oh wait she is a woman.

If they got a shit load of debt just BK and get the fuck out with freedom. Let's hope she makes more than he does. Maybe he can get alimony.

If my wife cheated on me I would definitely be willing to destroy some careers and lives.

If you really do consider him your friend then you would tell him. I told a friend in the past he was being cheated on and we are still friends today. He appreciated the fact that I had his back.

It doesn't have to be direct. Perhaps you could leak evidence or convince this girl to say something.

You should try and find a way to let your buddy know this without it pointing to you.

Could be as easy as creating an anonymous email adres and stating your a male collegue from the cheating wife who's been through the same who can't let this happen to someone else...

Even though your friend may not believe this at first, he will pay more attention to details and find out for himself eventually.

Is it possible you can get someone else to break it to him? If he's as good a guy as you say, and men of character are to look out for each other, he deserves at least for some effort to be made to (discreetly) inform him.

Samsamsam's suggestion is money. You can stimulate the female informant's appetite for drama and subtly encourage her to keep leaking it to other people. Eventually it will out.

The anonymous email idea is fine too. Say "I'm a friend who cares about you, here's info you need to see. Good luck." But the important thing is that he finds out, no half-measures about letting him draw his own conclusions. Give him the hard evidence in the form of the screenshots.

Just deny deny deny. Look confused and say "What...? I'm not sure what's going on? Are you saying you had an affair? Hahaha that's so ridiculous, you would never do that and betray _the husband_."

Make it oppressively awkward enough that they can't bear it but to drop it, even if they remain suspicious. If it gets hairy, simply accuse the female friend of being a liar. Suggest the obvious and that she told the husband herself.

I could never keep such a deep secret from my friend. What is the point of having a friend if he won't even tell you that you're being cheated on and shamed behind your back? Whether or not it will be rough for him, etc. is not the point. He deserves the truth, and if he takes his anger out on you/accuses you of lying, etc.. Then move on but at least you did the right thing

IF you decide to tell him, consider not being the messager yourself, you will get shot so to speak. Maybe get the girl who told you to show him the texts, if not you risk your own friendship.
