German friend of mine who is staying in CM on an METV also told me he got his in Hamburg without needing proof of employment. Seems that you need to go to Canada for a few reasons Kdog, but for anyone else looking at getting an METV, I would definitely double check with the consulates in Aus before flying off to Europe or North America; looks like it is possible for some nationalities. Plenty of inexpensive flights there as well.

^ But you can only get a METV in your home country of citizenship. So being an US citizen, I can't hop to Aus and expect to get a METV.

Not only do you not need to be a citizen but in some countries you don't even need to be a resident to apply; apparently Australia is one of them.

To get the METV you MUST be in your country of residence. That is a rule of applying for it.

That is not correct, there is no residency requirement to get an METV in Australia for certain nationalities. I am surprised you are arguing with me actually, but now I don't really care what you do. Enter the country of your origin, I used one of the countries I hold a passport for (Canada) and if you scroll down to the requirements it lists an Australian e visa as a requirement (not residency).

Hey guys, I have a couple questions about Thai cultural.

I've heard in Thailand, Thai men usually beat Thai women where most Thais usually just let it happen cause it's a relationship fight and you mind your own business.

I also know that you never start a fight with a Thai all else you will get 100+ Thais kicking the shit out of you. Cops will look the other way I hear?

What if you get into a fight with your Thai girlfriend and she hits you and you hit her back? What would other Thais do if they see this? Personality, I would never hit a woman but if she throw some punches at my face, I would take her down to the ground and it wouldn't be nicely in a hold. Some Thai women can be a bit violent at times...
