^ You could get someone to record your lifts with a phone and then have other people critique your form online or you could probably just hire a person but have him pretend he is just your friend or something.

If you do one session with a personal trainer at a different gym sometimes they cover your drop in fee or it is included in the training.

For example, I go to 24 Hr Fitness and would never consider using the trainers they have on staff. I'm only an intermediate lifter at best but hands down have a better physique and understanding of what I'm doing than any one of them do. They're literally all skinnyfat twinks or borderline obese, and if anything should pay me to work out with me. Plus, 24's corporate mindset doesn't allow outside trainers to come in and actually improve people's lives, since they wouldn't be generating sales of overpriced soy-laden "supplements" for their shareholders.

I've only ever belonged to 24 and go to one particular location (in the hood) 95% of the time, so don't have much perspective here. Do you find good trainers at independent gyms? Or do other chains have better trainers on staff?

In any major city there will be a few guys who train college and pro athletes. They will probably call themselves strength coaches instead of personal trainers. They will be expensive but probably worth the price. Some might have group classes or work with CrossFit gyms. You can also ask them for recommendations on books or programs to read about so that you can learn a lot on your own.

You can also get connected with quality coaches on the Internet. They can't really teach you everything about the correct form for an exercise but you can send them a video and they can diagnose some problems. Youtube and websites like stronglifts.com have plenty to get you started with learning the correct form.

Some coaches do consultations and write workout programming via the Internet. Justin Lascek from 70sbig.com is one example.

See if you can find a coach who has the starting strength certification.

I remember long time ago someone shared a link to some website/application where you would input your lifting stats for key lifts among other data, and then it would output a model of the human body with estimated muscle growth in different areas or something like this.

Does anyone remember the URL of the site?

Does anyone want some free fish oil?

I have 540 servings worth of unopened fish oil softgel containers that I'd be willing to send to a verified member who PM's me.

The only reason I don't want it is because I have so much salmon in my diet now to the point where I don't need fish oil supplements anymore. I'd rather give it to someone than throw it away.

I've been lifting for many years and for some reason I don't get even half as sore as I used to when I was a little younger.

I work out 4x a week and I'm always exhausted after every session.

Not sure if it is the new diet where I'm eating really clean or the supplements I'm taking, but when I'm not as sore, I feel like I didn't work out as hard as I could the day before.

I'm lifting heavy, and having massive gains every week.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas as to why I'm not as sore...if it is normal?

Completely normal. If you are still making consistent gains then there is nothing to worry about.

I've taken a few things from his videos and applied them to my workouts; mainly abs and shoulders.

I can't remember the exact explanation but soreness and gains are essentially not related. Sometimes they happen at the same time. Sometimes they don't. There is some real science behind this (not bro-science) but it has been a long time since I read about it so I don't remember the details.

Also, it is possible to get sore and not make gains. For example, chronic soreness will probably exist when a guy is over-training and making losses instead of gains.

Any ideas for fast knee recovery?
I have 3 weeks to recovery it at least a little bit, but I also have to train running and cardio. It has been month since the injury and it got a little bit better even though I trained, but last few days it has gotten worse.
I know that this is not good question and the only right answer is giving it a rest, but I appreciate any idea - supplements, bandage...
Irenicus 路 2017-04-12 16:32:00 路 #3316
As a person who had a serious knee injury ( I couldn't squat, or stand prone without feeling pain)...you can't do much, to be honest.

You will have to drop cardio (also squats and deadlifts in the gym), and have your knee scanned by a specialist. If you disregard what I have written...your knee will probably suffer permanent damage.

And you don't want that, right?

Speaking of bandages and supplements, magnetic wraps did not help me (probably because my knee was damaged too much). If the damage is light, they probably will. Speaking of supplements, I do not know - I avoid them. Too much chemistry.

Been eating less than 100 carbs a day for the last couple days now, going to try and transition into a full on keto diet. Pretty difficult so far because it seems like everything I like has a lot of carbs. Only plan on doing this for 6 weeks or so but hopefully drop a lot of fat.

Finished up a solid chest day. Weighed myself on the scale, my bodyweight is as high as it has ever been, and is continuing to rise.

When I was lifting hardcore before I got injured, I weighed around 235lbs at 6'6 at a little under 10% body fat. Now, I'm a couple pounds from being 260 and getting real close to where my body fat percentage was a few years ago.

Feels wonderful.

Lost one of my best friends since childhood a few weeks ago then I lost my grandma a few days after.

Pretty much became depressed and lost my appetite and didn't work out for over a week. Barely had like 4 or 5 meals over a 10 day period, got sick and lost a buncha weight and became hypoglycemic at one point.

Finally started getting my appetite back last week and starting to feel better. Trying to get back in the gym and catch up on school. I lost at least 5 lbs. Sucks but it's time to move forward and get back on track.

Everything you like has lots of SUGAR because it's CHEAP and that's what the GLOBALISTS want you to eat because it fucks with your brain.

How did you hurt it? What's the injury like?

I find that I can clear up most of my knee issues my foam rolling my quads, IT band, and/or calf depending on what part of my knee hurts.

I landed badly from parachuting training facility. You fall in high speed from quite big height in 45掳 degree. A lot of guys get f*cked up on this.
I almost couldn麓t walk and there was swelling on it, but I tried it again two days later (there was final examination) and after landing it got much better. Swelling dissappeared and pain wasn麓t so intensive anymore. But one month later there麓s still the pain and it got worse recently.

I will try some bone supplements for horses.

Good video^

When do all of you guys with office jobs work out? I'm a lunch guy, I can't focus in the afternoon if I don't get out.
Mornings just doesn't work with my commute and everything, and evening I'm usually too tired and then can't sleep because I'm amped up.

The problem with lunch is that I am sort of pressed for time and sometimes can't get in a full workout but one key advantage is that it forces me to meal prep -- i wolf down lunch after the workout at my desk instead of getting fast food.
