Life after unplugging from the Matrix
My motivation to get a high paying career and be successful has greatly decreased since I discovered the red pill. Has anyone else had this problem? Right now I am working towards a degree in Medical Science, but am finding it difficult to be as motivated as I used to be. It feels like I am going against my own nature by having no desire for high status and wealth.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
Ah believe me I've been there, and I'm guessing many members on this forum have felt that way in the past. Right now you are in your gaming as much as possible period of game aka the honey moon phase. It's damn hard to think about anything else other than gaming when you start.

You just got to keep it up because even though you're different then the guy who decided to get in Medical Science, by completing it you'll be a high earning doctor who won't have to put up with a corporate office setting and have to endure lots of bullshit since you'll be the boss. Keep on going just don't try to discuss about Red Pill stuff with people you barely know. Tried it and paid dearly for it!!

I don´t see how being red pill (i hate that term) goes against being successful.

If you don´t want the degree you are going after thats a different story.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
I'm definitely going through a similar phase, and as Captain Gh hinted, I do definitely try to impart my new knowledge on other people. I think that people go through this phase because everything in their life is reconsidered. For instance:

I wanted to do something specific in a certain industry with high risk and high reward. After swallowing the red pill and reading/contributing to RVF I realized that there are so many options and countries in this world -- why confine myself? So even though I will work hard, my path and endpoint has become much more nebulous.

I think we all go through this phase when you first find out about game.

At first I was depressed, this was very short phase. Then all I wanted to do was game and workout.

Now I have leveled off and am focusing on my career. Girls are not on my radar as much. I'd rather build an empire.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
I've been following RoK since January and I finally decided to be a part of this forum late April. Before joining I lurked through some of the threads and I began to question my choice of direction in life. Going to college, getting a well paying job, then getting married and being a provider. Was this truly the way to live my life?

I was still in class for the semester when all of this hit me and I really had a moment where I was lost. You discover that you were part of this master plan of slavery under the guise of "being successful". Yet you discover that maybe this isn't what being free is all about.

I got my wits together and continued my education. There is a way out, takes a lot of dedication, patience, and drive. Lots of guys in this forum are already doing just that. Hustling every which way they can.

Don't worry too much about it and keep doing whatever it takes to be successful and accomplish your desires. It's a rough road, there will be people out there who will tell you "You can't" or "You're crazy" but these same people are afraid of risk and would rather live a life of comfort than pursuing something better for themselves.

If you ever need to talk. Feel free to PM me.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
Reassessment of your core values and motivations is useful.

If your motivation was for you to earn money to attract women (90% of our thinking is centered on that - so it is not unusual) by a good job and some status, then of course Red Pill makes you reconsider that.

But going further you realize that you want to attain something in life - if your studies do not interest you - fine, but most guys cannot become bloggers or professional Playboys or PUAs. You find what interests you truly and then throw yourself into the field. Medical science can be a field where you immerse yourself intellectually and achieve a high level for the pure fun of becoming good at it. The women will come with Game anyway, but a good job will give you a more well-rounded approach.

You also realize with Red Pill that you can always change careers later on, take a lesser paying but more rewarding career in the future (moving from emergency room to a quiet rural area in Alaska). You simply don't give a shit about the expectations of Snowflake which encompass eternal debt and a house in the suburbs with a life-goal of a McMansion.

But a man does need passion, determination and a desire to put his energies into one area of interest. If you don't have a goal, make one up. That realization is also Red Pill.

I see a lot of good responses. Honestly, a lot of my motivation came from wanting to have my own family. I'm sure that a lot of the men here were the same way at one time or another.

Working in a stressful high-paying job seems like a ridiculous idea when I wouldn't have a family to spend the money on. Perhaps the desire to be a provider is what motivates men to seek high-status positions.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
The red pill has made me lose respect for a long time friend. Dude I've been friends with since I was a teen. He got into a relationship with a girl and then basically vanished for months until I reached out to him. She cheated on her previous boyfriend that she used to live with to be with my friend. Now they are in a relationship and she moved in with my friend. They're all lubby dubby. This chic is a 5 at best.

First off if any girl will cheat on her man with you she's not trustworthy. Period. Especially a guy who is actually supporting her. Go ahead an bang away if you like, but to actually take such a girl seriously to let her move in with you? What happens when the next guy comes along that makes her 'gina tingle even more? And then on top of that he's so head over heels about her he stops talking to his friends. The red pill has made this kind of shit intolerable to me. He's so deep in the blue zone I'm not even going to bother trying to unplug him, I have better endeavors to spend my energy on. But the red pill has helped me see things like this so much more clearly.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
I think that rather than adopting a defeatist attitude, it's better to ask yourself what type of lifestyle you personally want to wake up to each day.

For me, the answer to that question includes having an apartment that is decorated and equipped in a manner that makes ME happy.

It also means not looking at pretty women with unrequited desired. I'm willing to work to achieve the status, appearance and skills to get the women I want rather than masturbating myself to an early death.

But in terms of achieving those things, I am not interested in joining the rat race, where I am dependent on getting subjective promotions to get ahead.

I've personally chosen a path that allows me to achieve my goals in a matter where my level of success is directly tied to my level of effort.

You should too.

Everything makes sense after unplugging.
And then you get angry when you realize you have been lied to and suffered because of it...

Spend it on freedom then.

1. Figure out how much you would need to live like you'd want to.
2. Figure out how much would you need to invest to get that income passively (dividends or similar).
3. Try to reach it as quickly as possible, that should motivate you to get that high-paying career/business.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
I swallowed the red pill about 13 years ago. Post college frustration and getting lucky to meet international travelers who already were red pill about life.

I think the stages of the red pill follow the common stages of the Kubler-Ross model. I believe I have moved to the final stage and it took a long time, but it was well worth it.

1) Denial - This is your average blue pill male. They do not want to know about the red pill and they suffer in life due to denying themselves the truth.

2) Anger - As described by many here. Angry at being lied to your whole life. Angry that women would dare treat the very men who give up everything to keep them safe in such a horrible manner.

3) Bargaining - I think this is the NAWLT stage. Not All Women are as bad as we expect. But the harsh reality is the system is bad and we must escape it. Finding a great woman in the USA is not only difficult but also very risky with these laws in place and laws that continue to change the game that you started a while back. Imagine getting married under one set of laws and divorced under a whole different set of laws. Many men have faced this. It would be like starting a basketball game, where a basket is worth two points and then half way through the game the other team's points double for no reason at all. Winner takes all, game on.

4) Depression - This describes maybe where the OP is at. What is the point in life if all we work for will not get us what we want from others. Why not give up?

5) Acceptance. Buddhist strive for this everyday. You accept life is how it is, and you learn to appreciate this. You can't change women or this terrible system by yourself, but you learn to work within it to find what you want. What do I want? I want to get away from this terrible system and these over weight women wearing flip flops and expecting me to drop everything to help them at a moments notice. So I avoid most people in the USA and work to move out of the USA. And I enjoy it greatly as I am not bothered by these same women.

All in all, why do you keep working hard? You don't do it to impress others, you do it for yourself. You do it so you don't have to work some low wage job with a bunch of people who drive you crazy because they have no goal in life but to bother others and cause drama. You do it so you can have enough money to travel overseas and maybe one day move overseas. You do it so you can be insulated from a society that strives to hurt men more and more. The Red Pill is a life saver.

RE: Life after unplugging from the Matrix
I was angry for a while, and I occasionally lapse back into that mindset, but I am thankful that I have the choice to do things differently. I don't have to live like my dad, or grandfather. I can live a life of choice. Sure, women are crazy sociopaths, but that's just something I have to learn to live with.
