what the hell is wrong with people nowadays that it is perfectly acceptable to threaten to stab a 13 year old boy, but point out differences between the sexes is cause for termination at your work.

Christ. Facebook is a progenitor of this lunacy, too.
So much 'featured content' I see is annoying, so I just click the "I don't want to see this" drop down on the post.
The next screen shows a choice of reasons why not, one of which is "It's offensive or inappropriate"
Click on THAT, and it will give you a list of reasons why the post is offensive or inappropriate, including:
-It's sexually explicit
-It's illegal or violent
and my favourite:
-I disagree with it
It fairly boggles the mind that those reasons are lumped together.

And yes, good for the boy for not kowtowing to the worst kind of coward.

Yeah, exactly. I've said it before around here, but death threats on the Internet are about the dumbest thing I can imagine, especially the idea of people taking them seriously. Some basement dweller on twitter saying "I'm going to kill you" is a serious cause for alarm and worry? Get real. Uttering a death threat anonymously over the Internet requires zero commitment or seriousness.

SJW types frequently laud the notion that they've "received death threats", as if they've survived some massive hardship through sheer bravery and luck.

We know who they are: the soft misfit losers of today who have nothing else going for them but their niche interests. Threatening people is the only way they can assert power over a life they feel they're powerless to control or change.
