Redneck = Southern Scots/Irish. Designated punching bags of the progressive elite. It's so strange once you realise that they are in fact an ethnic group, and you observe the media/elite racism against them. It's everywhere. Even my mother likes to mock southern whites for their low-class accents and slave-owning past and she's a New Zealander.

The first rule for putting the boot in to an underclass is to deny that they are in fact a separate class or ethnic group. You can observe this historically in many different time and places. Dalits in India, minorities in Eastern Europe, non-Muslims in the Middle East etc. No, they are not a different people with their own history, they are just backwards folks who cling to a funny religion or weird customs, and in the case of white southerners, they must forever feel guilty that 200 years ago the top 6% of their ancestors owned slaves.
