Another liberated member blogged: "I haven’t shaved my legs for nearly a year (January). And you know what? No one cares! Or if they do, no one has said anything to my face.”

Another user of the Tumblr group, added: "Glad to see others that share my opinion on body hair being no big deal."

The mass movement against hair removal is seen as a way of empowering women who are expected to conform to social norms - such as wearing make-up, dieting, and removing their body hair.

But it's not the only movement online supporting female body hair.
The WANG Facebook group, which stands for women against non-essential grooming, believe that "everyone should be free from coercive gendered bodily norms and should have absolute bodily autonomy."

Their statement adds: "We look forward to a day when people can present their bodies in whatever way they choose."

The group has so far amassed more than 1500 likes on the social networking site.

I don't care about this. Back in college I messed around with a French exchange student, Marie, who had hairy legs and armpits. She was still hotter than hell, but in a completely non-American way.

I'd take Marie over 1,000 of the tattooed, pierced landwhales masquerading as women in America today. Marie could shave her legs and be good to go in five minutes -- the landwhales can't erase the tattoos or melt away the blubber too quickly.

Accepting anyone's body, in its natural state, is different than accepting a freakshow, which we're asked to do more and more these days (I don't consider 50 extra pounds of fat natural).

This doesn't bug me nearly as much as other things, probably because I had a good experience with it at age 20.

I fucked a petite Pakistani girl and was faced with the same thing. She had hairy pits and I think her legs were hairy too but she was so tiny and hot I kinda forgot about it. She was clean and nearly broke my pipe off riding it so I was totally oblivious to it all.

I agree. If she is healthy and feminine you can let a woman in her natural state just 'be'. If she is attractive and feminine then it really shouldn't matter.

This trend isn't about "empowerment" it's just showing that western women are lazy. The logic feminists use to justify things like this is "men aren't expected to do it, so why should we? Equality, duh." Lost in the pleasure they derive from acting like victims of oppression is the fact that men have plenty of expectations placed on us that don't apply to women. So, hairy-legged beasts, if you're unwilling to fulfill attractiveness standards that only apply to women, that's your choice. But then don't expect to find a man who:

-earns a nice living
-is muscular
-is tall
-is confident & charismatic
-is funny
-makes the first move
-plans and pays for dates
-is handy
-is mature and independent

If you, as a feminist, truly believe in equality, you have no right to have these attributes on your checklist, because they're ONLY expected of men. Gosh, isn't that so fucked up and oppressive?

I was speaking in another thread about The Modern Feminist as subscribing to Victorian Romantic Sensibility where she is valued for who she is as a person rather than her beauty. Of course, this can only be proven if she attracts the highest value man possible, who has a choice of many beautiful woman but chooses her over their 'shallow beauty'. A low value man can't add power to the fantasy, because he lacks options.
