my first close from game actually took me < 10 minutes. What made it crazier is it happened during the day inside of a bookstore restroom. That isn't an environment where people are known for being horny. Goes to show anything is possible.

OP I thought was originally thinking non-club/bar drunk game, but I could be wrong. Good comments soup. Here's my bar story.

Within 30 minutes. Stars aligned. She was 23, prob a 7, cute Midwestern girl. I was grabbing a drink and started hitting it off with her. She bragged about how smart she is, even telling me her test scores. She lied that her friends were there and she couldn't find them. Getting with a girl in the night is a very different thing from a day approach though. Of course when girls are drunk, horny, and you happen to come along at the right moment and don't screw up, it's on right there.

During daytime though, it's much harder to imagine how to pull this smoothly when girls are not in Party Mode. I'd be much more interested in stories about that personally.

There 100% is other strategies for guys who are only 8/10 or less. OP mentioned the question 'What do top alphas do?' - For the most part I'm just pointing out that the majority of what they do is useless [Typically game ruining] unless you're that top 1%.

Cold approached a hot French Moroccan in Paris two summers ago at about 4:30 in the afternoon as she was strolling down the street. Said hello to her and asked where she was headed to. Big city, Sydney. The city itself a pretty brutal for 99.9% of guys but when you fit the build of that small minority it's amazing just how slutty the girls are.
