Kyiv was so messed up that I couldn't recommend it to anyone in good conscience. It's just too overran by foreign guys and escorts spamming in Tinder / hanging out in nightclubs. Kyiv just happens to be convenient due to the airport and easy AirBnBs.

No idea on the situation in Kharkiv but I know it's on Uber so that would be good enough for me.

Unless someone has field experience: you should decide whether it's better to be closer to an university area (access to babes) or closer to Puzata Hata (convenient eating) / Nightlife (although if Kharkiv ends up being a mini-Kyiv the ratios of non-pros might not be good).

I don't recall meeting a Westerner in Ukraine that was getting increased results with Ukrainian women due to language knowledge. I think for it to be valuable you need to speak it at a meaningful level, many girls have expressed their frustration to me that they cannot say what they want to say in English, even the ones that speak English well.

Day to day though it's useful to hear what's going on around you, pick up a conversation in the coffee shop and have a laugh etc. Otherwise you are walking around in a bubble.

You will always be considered a foreigner in Ukraine, Russian or no Russian

Load up on fake D&G from Instanbul market vendors in the biggest suit case and thank me later.

Funny thing is I used to handout flashlights (as in normal flashlights) with the Spanish Gaudi pattern from Barcelona to Asian girls. Bought over a dozen cause they were just $3 each. Even made a fake backstory saying how it was a good memory of my special time there. Et cetera et cetera. Bringing back souvenirs for chicks is something that I have been doing for years now. It's not going to get you laid but it definitely helps. In their mind they think that the guys thinks of her and cares, even if it's a little thing. The souvenir/little present needs to go along with texting and show care, though. EE gold diggers or gold diggers in general will not be happy with something small and inexpensive and will not put out.

No, I disagree. Learning Chinese or Indian enables you to speak them in two or three countries max while learning Spanish or Russian lets you speak the language of 20 and 10+ countries respectively. So even from a pure travelling standpoint (and not banging chicks) learning Spanish and Russian is much more beneficial then all other languages including Chinese and Indian.

I always tell this to the Rus/Ukr chicks when they ask me "But why Russian?!"

In theory: Ukraine is considered semi-famous for medical education at cheap rates.

In practice: Does Ukraine really have better education than Morocco? Even though places like Morocco have a per capita GDP than Ukraine? It seems like they're using it as an excuse to go drink vodka and have sex with prostitutes to me. And I kind of see some evidence for this such as the Middle Eastern and African male seems to outnumber their female counterpart by 3:1 or more.

Kharkiv has 22,000 foreign students, most of them from middle east/Africa. center is quite big, their is English speaking community which you can connect with- lower quality of girls there obviously. I didn't connect well with this city, prefer Kiev. I got some activity there but in general less frequent and less quality. Not bad city though in overall perspective, might visit again.

I see. By 'Islamic students' I read 'students studying Islam' as opposed to 'Muslim students' generally. The latter makes more sense...though still a little strange since (I imagine) Middle Easterners and Africans would probably hate the climate in Ukraine, not speak the language that well, and be met with a frosty reception by the locals...The draw of free-flowing vodka and bountiful pussy must be real.
