I've traveled to Kiev twice in the last three years - always in late Spring - and I've found that using booking.com is the best way to find apartments. I typically pay between 800-1000 UAH per night. I have occasionally found deals as low as 640 UAH for one bedroom apartments in the city centre. Of course, if you're willing to go outside it - say to Pozniaky/Osokorky Metro - it will be more like 400-500 UAH per night.

One strategy I've used is to stay the first 2-3 nights in a place I found using booking.com, and then if I liked it, proposing to extend my stay for a lower rate directly with the agency/owner, foregoing the site. This works less well in Ukraine than other places - because you're often dealing with agencies rather than individual owners who may have more leeway - but can still sometimes work. Offering to pay cash tends to help in these negotiations. At the very least, they should be willing to reduce your nightly rate by the 10-20% commission they would be paying to a booking site if you booked through them instead.

In my opinion, it is ideal to stay within the close vicinity (e.g. 5-10 minute walk max) of one of these four Metro Stations: Maidan, Kreschatyk, Zoloti Vorota or Palace of Sports.

The apartments are located at Baseina 3 or 7, which is pretty ideal as it's a 2 minute walk to Arena City, Gulliver and Kreschatyk. Minimum 2 night stay.

It's a good idea to book a place for a few days and then negotiate a better long-term rate, although this works better in the off-season when most places are vacant. In the summer most owners/agents will have plenty of interest from short-term visitors at higher rates.

The Eradicator (love the KITH reference) is right that 800-1,000 UAH per night is the going rate for a decent place in a good location. You can get a studio for 600-700 UAH per night, which is fine for a few days, but not beyond that.

olx can yield good deals if you speak Russian. I've used it, but I've found you have to filter through the scams (if it's a great location at a really cheap rate) and it's best to phone because they don't answer emails.

I got the best results from keeping in touch with owners and/or agents I've rented from in the past. I just rented a 1 bedroom for May by Sofiski Sobor for 515 UAH/night. No Eurovision gouging for me.

The true local prices don't kick in unless you're renting for a year or more.

I can't answer that succinctly bc prices are all over the place. The quality of the apartment and of the location don't have as much of an effect as they should.
What I saw yesterday was an old studio for 220$/mo and a newer one for $380/mo. This is far from the center, in those Soviet bloc buildings that look the same. The stairwells were disgusting, I cannot picture myself bringing friends let alone girls here.
The newer studio is on the ground floor so only part of the stairwell is seen. If I get desperate I may have to take that. Locals would pay a LOT less, especially on one year lease

Looking at a nice place in the center today, hopefully I land it.

Hey guys, new here. I'm 30, tall, fit, learning Russian. To be honest I'm not much of a club goer or womanizer but that's changing. I've been in Kiev for 6 days. I read bang Ukraine, I found it very helpful. I plan on staying at least a month then moving on to Kharkov or Odessa, I'll see how things go here. Tinder seems to work well for me, been on a few dates with quality girls and have more planned. The club scene has been dead during the week, any advice on where to go? it's Wednesday so I might check out shooters or Caribbean tonight. On Saturday shooters was pretty good. Within 30 min I engage a English speaking 7 and we danced and talked for an hour or two, we even grinded on the dance floor. I was a few minutes away from trying to kiss her, she says she needs some fresh air. I get a beer and have a smoke. 5 min later I find her with some old Turk! He was showing her pics of his cars and boats on his iPhone. I walked over and put my arm around her but I could tell she was looking for a sponsor. I did get her number not going to call her though. I knew I had been bested and left the club, which was a mistake. Tried sky bar and dlux but they wouldn't let me in without a table. Besides that I'm having a blast here.

My Appartment is quiet, I would sleep with the windows open. I'm near independence square. Across the street from the national art museum of ukraine. I'm surprised at how clean it is here. The building is old af and looks dangerous, I'm scared to use the elevator lol

If you can approach and hook at a location that is within a few minutes walk of your apartment (in the center) she won't give a fuck about your furniture.

Visa free travel for Ukrainians into the EU Schengen countries just got approved by EU parliament. Will come into effect in June. Not expecting this to become some kind of a game changer though.

That is not the biggest issue here.

The autocrats in Brussels take another rabbit out of the hat, now that it is clear that the migrants will not work or assimilate, so they pulled the trigger regarding Ukraine, giving visa free travel on the 90/180 or 180/360 days rules. Now suddenly Ukranians will flood Europe on this basis and since they can not have a proper working contract, since this clearance is only on the grounds of Visa free travel this means they will work for pennies in menial jobs whithout a legal contract in this time frames, and possibly return to Ukraine in and out,
putting even more pressure in the working classes of the EU countries.

As for the girls, Ukraine will always be a hotbed of beautiful women, wether it has 45 or 30 million inhabitants. I have no worries regarding that.

The local competion will be tougher though, guys will have more money to spend on their devuskas.

I actually thought it will have the opposite effect. Girls will be alone while their boyfriends are working on some Polish farm.

Other advantage I see is that it is easier to travel with a Ukrainian girl or fly her to your home country for a visit without lots of paper work involved.

Visa free travel is only for tourism purposes for a limited number of days, it doesn't allow the right to work which is a big difference.

I found a Nice place outside the center and took it.

We will see if I regret not taking one of the old flats on Lesi Ukrainski. I will miss out on the bars restaurants and cafes
I've never pulled from daygame, actually never really ran proper daygame, so the logistics of living in a better pulling location isn't a factor.
Plus I have business ideas to grind on and living in a nice place will be one less thing to worry about. Nice bed, nice kitchen, nice work space can only help.
Anyway I now have a contact for places that might be a good fit for a short stay so PM for number. She's a kooky old woman but speaks halfway decent English.

Yes, definitely. It is very cheap to call someone, and even to call abroad. The price of the mobile internet is also cheap with good connection, choose one from Life: ), MTC or KievStar, minimal differences between them. I have a Life: ) for many years from now, but seems KievStar is nowadays the number one company.

Everyone uses Viber, more than whatsapp, but the last one is also heavily used.

Impressions for my current spring visit to kiev:
* Snickers shoes are top of fashion now, not only during day but nightlife as well, high heels are more rare and for 27+ girls. This phenomenon is for sure not good, I've asked few girls why, and they they say "I wish to be comfortable".
* Day game still easy to get numbers but conversion rate to dates is lower than used to be.
* a lot of cheaters online, from the "But Im not kiev, please send me money to come".
* Honest girls which looking for relationships would be older and less attractive.

Kiev is still a great place to be but it seems a bit over run and phenomenon which happened in Poland for example coming to here.
