Just a heads up...although I have not been to Zapo I did bed two girls from there and both had unshaven snatches, very rare in Ukraine. Watch out, it's a jungle down there.

Well, maybe I overstated with "WGF". My bad. Zp is maybe still off the beaten tracks, but we're not in the 90's anymore. Even in those less-travelled areas, being a foreigner isn't enough, and loong gone are the days when solely speaking english was a magnet for girls...if you're decent looking, with the right wardrobe/status accessories, and enough charm, game and aloofness, you will have easy pickings - more than in Kiev, as there's much less competition. Besides the very central locations, where else is good to rent an apartment in Kiev?

I've looked near Khreschatyk St and the Independence square but options are currently limited at the moment. If I look outside that area my options increase substantially.

Is generally speaking anywhere near the centre a good place to stay? How are the areas within a 2km radius of the Olimpiysky stadium, and parts around Ocean Plaza mall?

So I thought I'd give some 2 cents after spending 10 days in Kiev. Probably nothing that hasn't been said already but fuck it.

As I was saying to some of the forum guys I'd met - one could literally date every single day in this city. There just seems to be an endless supply of available and willing girls to 'go on a walk with' - speaking of which, get used to walking - it seems that's just what you do. I actually began as the 'naive tourist looking to get to know the city' but by the end of my stay I had to almost feign my surprise at having visited the same place for the 3rd time in a week. But ay, that's all good.

Had pipelined a bird for a couple months, or more accurately she pipelined me - I was fairly indifferent to her but I thought 2 or 3 dates should be a sure thing, but when push came to shove it was 'woman's week' as they say and the flag eluded me. But not before she showed me some of the most insane yoga poses I'd ever seen. Yoga seems to be popular here and her body was quite extraordinary. And yet in Ukraine maybe it's not much more than a tip of the hat - such is the abundance of quality. Of course in hindsight I would've ditched her earlier but her chase was relentless. Anyway, that's the way it goes. As a side note - I had a random text at 2am that night from a bird I had a first date with a few nights before - and she was like 'do you want to meet? Now? )))))' and of course I negged cause I had the other one in my place. Again, that's the way it goes.

Probably my best date was my last night - from Tinder originally and met at the Muse concert for a quick 5 minute chat - then day 2 at Podil walking around town. Grabbed some lunch to start then after some extensive walking my 'shoes were causing me blisters' so I had to go 'back to my apartment to change them'. Actually legit. But feel free to steal that one. Cause I also stole the 'I don't understand my washing machine, it's in Russian, can you help me?' from someone on the forum. (Cheers whoever that was). Anyway, once she agreed to come up I actually did need to do some washing and change my shoes. I had a bottle of wine that needed drinking, we stopped at the supermarket for nibbles and went to the park to drink. Nice little picnic. Then she came back for a second time, we listened to some music - started getting physical but it wasn't to be just yet.

There were a few other dates in between that that didn't go far. I really felt like I only scratched the surface on getting to know 'how things work' and 'refining my backstory' - the interrogation is relentless 'why you in Kiev' 'how long you stay' - blah blah blah. But of course if she likes you this dissipates fairly quickly. I suppose it depends what she wants and how well you can establish some kind of connection. Putting in a few months prior to learn some basic Russian and the Cyrillic alphabet I felt was integral to add an extra layer of value to the experience. Great meeting those guys I met and to those I didn't.. I'm sure there'll be another time and place.

@Dirkis Great writeup...it's insane how 2-3 dates means nothing...it's almost as if you have to screen a lot more
for girls who are more interested in relationships than just dating. Although 10 days is not really a lot of time...

Although on the flip side, it seems like they take the first few dates pretty seriously...not really intended for sex
but actually to get to know you.

Next time if you're there longer, you might need to pipeline girls a little longer so you don't have to go
through the third degree as soon as you arrive.

Between Lva Tolstovo and Olimpiisky and Palats Ukraina is fine. Between Palats Ukraina and Lybidska (Ocean Plaza) is pretty boring.

Ocean Plaza is always busy and apparently there's a beach club nearby, but I haven't been yet.

I've stayed by Olimpiisky and Palats Ukraina. There's great talent at the Linguistic University (during the academic year). At Volodimirsky market they have this amazing sherbet (щербет sugarless/flourless nut/dried fruit bread/cake thing).

Podol is pretty cool too.

Consider the Circus as well. It's a central transport hub and Ukraina shopping center is there, so lots of people. The botanical garden is right there so it's good for dates and day game. Caribbean Club and Sorry Babushka are around the corner, although I don't recommend either.

I considered that Area, the biggest problem is that you are between Metro stations - Zoloti Vorota is quite far, Universitet up a long hill, and Vauxhalna quite far and an unpleasant station.

In addition there is a lot of traffic, pollution and it takes ages to cross the roads

Also not too much in the way of restaurants

@Apollo21 Yeah that's right - which is why I think you do better the longer time you invest, but this is probably true for almost any destination in the world. One just has to consider all the other logistical factors involved such as cost of accomodation, food, drink etc. Kiev (and Ukraine for that matter) ticks a lot of boxes for some of us which is why this thread is over 100 pages long, it's a popular destination.

Of course I think the girls aren't stupid - most of them know why you're there at the end of the day - it's just nice to have a cover. I often said 'Australians commonly visit Western Europe - I wanted to get off the beaten path and try something different. I was curious about Ukraine.' She can imagine she's in some romance novel getting swept up in the moment. Even though we know that really it's mostly just economy - you invest xyz amount of time - you'll get xyz equivalent results. Of course there's always exceptions.

As a side note on my final date I mentioned she was explaining to me - 'this is how a typical date is in Ukraine' as we watched several couples walk by in the park - the woman holding a bouquet of flowers. She mentioned how if a guy rocks up with just 1 flower - he just wants sex, but if he has a bouquet he's willing to invest more. I tried to explain to her 'look if I rocked up to a first date with an Aussie chick holding a bouquet of flowers (not that I ever would) this would work *against* me rather than for me - that flowers (and romance in general) is a spice that is applied sparingly at best. Completely different mentality - but we can get away with NOT giving flowers in Ukraine cause we can simply justify that 'this is not how it is in the west'. But sure, eventually some cute things would work well. Perhaps after you bang I reckon.

I was also like 'I notice there are so many high heels here.. what's going on? Even a girl walking in a park has heels.' She's like 'yeah so we can meet more easy some Australian guy..

I would say many Ukrainian girls are stupid!. The older the girl is the more likely she will know why you are in Ukraine, it's pretty easy to fool a younger girl into thinking you are a regular tourist, or a "biznisman"

The flowers thing makes sense, I certainly would not bring flowers on a first date(In my mind it would scare her) but if I did i'm not going to bring a bouquet for just any girl.

Yes the dating scene in Ukraine favours the man, Ukrainian girls will often say "For every 100 men there is only 1 good man" which translates into "Only 1 rich , handsome man with a big dick"

There are very few Australian tourists in Ukraine, as until recently you needed a visa. I understand they give you 14 days now on arrival. Most Ukrainian girls couldn't even pinpoint Australia on the map or recognize the flag

Yeah I'm fortunate to have a British passport too. Australian passport holders still do need a visa actually - think it's ~500 UAH. You get it on arrival but you also need to 'prove' the tourist nature of your trip, probably give accomodation details etc.

Yeah, they're aware of koalas, kangaroos and spiders. But not a great deal else. They certainly had no clue whatsoever where I'm from (Perth).

Problem is.. I don't remember WHO posted the info.. and I can't seem
