The way I use those terms:

Beginner - can't get laid.

At best, "gets lucky" and falls into an LTR once a year.

Intermediate - can get laid consistently.

Has a good sex life. Doesn't always pull or get 10s, but gets women and can run game.

Expert - integrated lifestyle.

Game isn't a hobby, but a lifestyle. Think someone like KrillWasHere, or Owen Cook.

For the record, I'd consider myself an intermediate. If you were to burn my social circle to the group, it'd be two weeks tops before I was seeing new girls.

My notch count is under 100 but over 50. I'd have to write them all down for an exact number. I'll make a thread when I break 100 and we can throw a party.

When you stop caring, not because of sour grapes, but because you've been there, done that.

You can tell who the vets are by who's pushing the boundaries and coming up with new shit that no one else is doing.

That's because they know they can run "normal" game and it's boring, so they push boundaries as they had an abundance mindset and don't care if any given girl doesn't respond.

When you have that abundance mindset of a vet, you experiment and game is just...well, it really is just a game to you.

It's almost sociopathic, as it's just moves on a chess board with people.

In the "pickup artist" context:

Beginners don't get pull new girls regularly, and if they do only with mediocre girls.

Intermediate's pull new girls regularly but not as often as they'd ideally like, and aren't regularly pulling the turbo hotties.

Veteran's bang new girls so often that regular people would not believe them if they told them, and regularly pull top-shelf quality.

Christian's guideline in my opinion are solid, but I think the main questions results over people who prefer quality or quantity. In all honesty some players just want to bang a crap ton of chicks while others don't want to bang so many but instead focus on the quality of the girl. What do you guys think about the differences in level of player with those two different thought processes factored in?

and also, when you know that just around the corner of life is another hot amazing woman to satisfy your urges.

Good points all around, however I believe "veteran" is sort of the wrong word choice in a game context.

I actually look at vet as more of what Roosh calls an "Innovative Casanova" - someone dealing with chicks/life on expert mode.

Everything is else pretty simple from that point...

Beginner: low notch count (can clearly remember every broad), hit or miss reading women, falls into a female frame on a regular basis - basically average guy

Intermediate: respectable notch count (lost track of #/names), can see "the matrix" and able to read women and men in multiple contexts, a few ltrs mixed in w/ periods of plate spinning and short dry spells, has occasional bangs while traveling, focus of life is himself - chicks come and go. Part-time Playboy.

Expert or "Innovative Casanova": high quality women are everywhere and easily accessible - life is firing on all cylinders (you can easily figure out the cats who live this life for real - a few are on this forum). Strong global connections - International Playboy.

I see myself at Intermediate level...wouldn't consider myself a "vet" even though I'm in my 30s and have been running game since the 90s.
