RE: cnn report on pua in china
have a rest

do you like delicious food?

you are very fashion

I actually offered 2 Chinese girls (my gf and a good friend) 100 kuai each if I could watch them run at full speed...didn't happen but something about watching a normal chinese girl run at full speed cracks me up.

Please don't start with the "delicious," or I will pummel you with "beautiful." Then one of us will inevitably whip out "colourful" and that will be mutually assured destruction!

RE: cnn report on pua in china
Great posts Fathom and RedneckPunk.

I'm very good at Mandarin Chinese, but still intermediate. My dream is to go and live in China for some time, and fuck beautiful chinese girls.

I am surprised and not so surprised at some of the points you mentioned, a little fucked up, yes. But still, I think one can have a great time, and when the time's come, well you gotta bounce and move on.

RE: cnn report on pua in china
I don't entirely agree with the points being made here. it's a big country with an incredibly wide and divrse group of people. Even in a city like Shanghai, it's not like a 1 size fits all. Remember that overall, it is still a relatively poor country that has a small, privileged elite, and then a bunch of working class people. You can go to one bar and find people pulling up in Mazeratis, getting bottle service, and generally being aristocratic assholes, then you can go across the street to a club full of relatively modest girls, all in a 1 block radius.
If all you can find are these useless, privileged girls, you may want to consider different areas of the city.

75% sure this is Dash

just out of curiosity where in Shanghai do you go to bars with bottle service and mazeratis walk a block and go to a bar with modest girls? Please name the bars.

You mentioned Shanghai, what part of town has the modest girl bars you speak of?

The 3 girls I mention in my other post...none were wealthy.

Also I said in my post that my gfs were cool and took care of me.

The emotional development of Chinese people is, at any one time, a good five years behind that of the average Westerner. Chinese have no interests, no hobbies, no opinions, no creativity, and no dreams. The only thing the guys care about is buying a house and a car so they can in turn go buy a wife. The only thing the girls care about is expertly minimizing their physical flaws with makeup so that they can be externally appealing and marry a guy who has a house and car.

You know how in the West you begin showing interest in the opposite sex around twelve, thirteen years of age? You get your first little "girlfriend" and hold hands and maybe kiss on the lips, woohoo. By the time we're sixteen we've begun dating. By eighteen we've fucked. Then we go to college and fuck more, experience more emotionally challenging relationships. After graduation, we realize none of that was particularly meaningful because we were too young to know ourselves. But we now do have a basis for comparison when it comes to building real, adult relationships. [a lot of shy and lazy/picky guys don't even a girlfriend even in college in the US, but the majority did/do]

The typical 20-year-old Chinese has, in many cases, never even held hands with the opposite sex. Freshmen look and act like fourteen-year-old children. When they do get their first boyfriend or girlfriend in their sophomore or junior year, Chinese guys begin doing what we did in high school. They idolize the first girl who gave them sex (if she did), walk down the street with her carrying all her shit, following her like a puppy.

Since they do not have the social experience and emotional maturity to know this is all childish crap, they soon graduate and marry the first pussy they got. Then they tie themselves down with houses, cars, and children, because in China you must be married by twenty-five in order to please the parents, then the kids better come soon after. The predictable scenario plays itself out, where they reach their early thirties, are sick of their wives and their life, so they go out to karaoke bars with their co-workers to bang the semi-pros that work there.

Chinese women are obsessed with "love," even though they know fuck all about it. They will literally talk about "what love is" by quoting song lyrics or scenes from movies. They think every tired, worn-out platitude is profound. Forrest Gump's "I don't know what love is, Jenny... but I love you" was often quoted, probably 'cause, like, it had the word "love" in it. You cannot imagine the incredible degree of naivete in their tiny minds. This is why when you bed a Chinese girl, she is now officially your "girlfriend," unless she is one of the experienced foreign dick-chasing bar whores, which abound. Getting rid of her doesn't have to be difficult but her showing up at your door near midnight staring at you imploringly through misty eyes isn't surprising. Neither is her knocking on your door for ten minutes before she gives up, at which point you think she left, only to look out the keyhole four hours later and realize she's been sitting in fromt of your doorstep the whole time.

Are Chinese girls submissive? Maybe with foreign guys. But overall, Chinese women control the lives of their spineless men, and not in a matriarchal what's-best-for-us way, but rather in an utterly cuntish you-are-my-dog manner. Chinese women think having a fit is a normal part of a relationship. They get angry for nothing, it's a sport, and the pussy Chinese men appease them. Perhaps they don't do this with foreigners, 'cause they know the foreigner will get rid of them.

Here is an example of what the typical Chinese woman is like. In China there is an incredibly popular dating show called Honest Inquiries Only (非诚勿扰). Women stand behind podiums with a buzzer while a male guest is introduced. Via process of elimination, they hit the buzzer until only the women who are interested in him remain. During the Q&A part, where the female guests pose idiotic, lame-brained questions to the guy, here is what one girl said:

"When I was a child my parents were very good to me, so I never washed clothes or cleaned the house or did the dishes. If we were together would you be okay with doing these things for me?"
【At least these bitches on the honest inquiry/非诚勿扰(it literally means if you are not honest don't bother(a classical Chinese phrasal structure) ) show are honest】, which I believe most girls are not.
Apparently in China, being good to your child means ensuring she is useless. The point is, anyone who thinks Chinese women are the type who'll wake up after sex and cook you breakfast might as well get it out of their mind. They are domestically useless. Their best talent is complaining, engaging in circular arguments, sleeping, and shopping. They are spoiled beyond belief. Here's another question a different girl asked:

"If I get angry with you often, will you be able to live with that?"

I leave it to you to weed out the sinister presuppositions of this question, not the least of which being she gets angry for fun. This is one of the most popular shows in the country. No one bats an eyelash at the abject stupidity of the guests, which means they are inevitably, at least to some degree, representative of popular sentiment.

The typical foreigner whose cultural exposure amounts to nothing more than fucking Chinese chicks will never see this, even if he stays in China an entire year. But those who speak the language well, who have had real relationships with Chinese, whether female or male, have truly gotten to know them, their friends, their families, have watched their TV shows, those foreigners will feel and understand the incredibly bleak and fucked up, dysfunctional state of the Chinese psyche. After that, China might not be so fun anymore.

My recommendation for bang-happy would-be visitors is go there, learn enough of the language to order food and ask basic questions, screw as many hot Chinese girls as you can, and leave when you're done. Don't make China into some kind of cultural conquest where you will get "really good at Chinese" and "get to know their culture." You'll come away feeling disillusioned and disappointed, if not disgusted at their utter lack of values or even basic human decency.
dude, U are like right on the spot. I was watching this CHinese drama show, dude one guy character is so beta that he is always submissive, still wants reconcile with her girlfriend even though she stole 300,000RMB and made him lose everything. The guy is totally dependent on his parents. Then he goes live with his friend is like 27 who still has no job and lives with his sister who is total alpha and focused on carreer. I mean these guys let girls boss them all the time. There are side stories where random hot chinese chicks chasing corporate CEO and rich guys. Eventually the nice beta guy falls for some hot unlucky girl. this show 囧人的幸福生活(happy life of shameful people) is accurate description of Chinese relationship if exclude all the rich people and all the fate bullshit,.
Chinese kids these days don't know how do shit, cuz the parents spoil the only child. Yes, every chinese parent tells their kids get a house and a car, or else u won't get a wife. If u ask a hot chinese girl what she wants, she probably says i want a rich guy with a respectable job who has a car and his own condo/house, who is handsome and 1.8m or taller, essentially same as some delusional western bitch. I mean how many chinese guy are 1.8m or has a car and condo, most don't except for the upper class, even then they are probably not 1.8 and good looking. I guess that is one of main reason that these girls want a rich foreign guy.
Yeah, there are way too many fucking romance dramas shit on tv to satisfy Chinese women's or men's fantasies. It is usually about some rich guy falling in love with a poor/average but good looking chinese girl or a beta becomes rich and falls love with his crush, and it happens mothefucking fate always brings them together.

There was some other show, don't know the name, and the girl was asked would you rather marry the love of your life and he was poor or marry a rich man you are not in love with.

Her response: "I'd rather cry in a Mercedes than smile on the back of a bike"

Weibo in China blew up and had crazy hate for this girl and what it means for Chinese society. Proof that are still many good people there, and they see their society decaying around them.

China is a MASSIVE country. 1.6 billion people (ignore the official stats, that's what chinese told me!!) Everyone's gonna have a different experience.

China does have people who have some level of self-determination, people who have interests, people who are artists, etc. It's just not a huge number as a percentage of the population.

Examples:
-888 art district in Beijing
-punk rock scene in Beijing
-lots of artists and society dropouts live in Yunnan province
-i personally met a ton of people who quit their corporate jobs and -led interesting lives in Yunnan province
-met lots of chinese who spend time out in tibet
-met a couple when i was travelling in Qinghai province who met and fell in love in Lhasa and went to visit them in Chendgu
l-ots of people starting to do interest stuff in BJ and SH-- although it's still in it's infancy compared to anything in the west.

undoubtedly china is a **cked up country and the interesting stuff as a percentage isn't that high. But in a country of 1.6 billion, surely this adds up to a decent number of people.....

you have the find the right places, the right people- same as the u.s.-- west va isn't too happening and you might have some frustrating experiences, but lots of other places...

Qinghai is way off the tourist map ( except for people just passing through Golmud on the way south ),can I ask you what was it like chasing women out in the wilder provinces? Would love to hear your opinions and experiences. I have always wanted to do a couple of months hunting pussy in the undiscovered parts of China like that.

1.2/1.3/1.6/1.8 billion it makes zero difference to what we are discussing.

Have you ever banged an Chinese artist, dropout, or band member?

Have you been freinds with one of these types for years, met their friends, parents, etc?

I have

Guess what...they are still Chinese and have Chinese characteristics.

If you LIVED in China you would know that inherently it is a frustrating experience regardless of where you stay. GUARANTEED, NO EXCEPTIONS

The knowledge Fathom and I dropped is imperative for those that want to live there and understand the culture. If you believe we are pin heads that just lived in the wrong place and met the wrong people fine.

In my 5 years there I met a wide variety of people...rich/poor modest/arrogant, awesome/awful, selfish/generous, corrupt/honorable.

They share many characteristics...they were chinese ie confucius beliefs, importance of face, importance of social harmony. They or someone in their immediate family lived through the Cultural Revolution and The Great Leap Forward.

These things shaped their parents lives and in turn their lives. So yeah I think I know what I'm talking about.

FYI the government gives tax incentives for Han Chinese to move to Tibet for the purpose of outbreeding the Tibetans to ensure a "peaceful transition."

Glad you enjoyed your trip, I enjoyed my time there as well. That's why I stayed for years.

Bust out some Yunnan data sure many would love to hear more about the place.

Among some the elitre, quite possibly, I'll concede that. But the average Chinese girl is generally not very well off, works a shit ton, and is usually very outgoing and friendly. I know engineering students who do schoolwork for 15 hours a day, I've met retail salespeople who almost pass out at their kiosk from exhaustion, and I've seen 50 year old women walk me to the right bus stop 10 minutes away after I've asked for directions

oh, and for a good mix of people in Shanghai, go to xintiandi. you see everything from expat and hooker dens to upcale jiu bas and everything in between

@ Fathom and redneckpunk

Some accurate pointers about the Chinese, but you guys are looking at it from a Western perspective and don't understand why things are that way. Looks a lot like the posts on expat forums claiming to be disillusioned about the culture of the country they are in and disparaging the people with phrases like "Tiny minds".

Wonder why Chinese kids and many others in Asian countries in general study all day and don't have much in the way of hobbies? Well, because they're fucked if they don't. If a westerner like you were in their shoes, you'd say the system's bloody rigged. In the US if you just slacked around in a shitty state college or even didn't go to one at all, hell you'd be able to get a blue collar job, own a car, own a house, living a "joe the plumber" lifestyle. In most Asian countries Joe the Plumber, Sarah the factory worker eat shit. China Joe lives in a dingy work dormitory with 4 other guys, and earns $250 a month, in a country where the cost of living to wage ratio is much worse than the US. Genuine brand name clothes, eating in a restaurant, widescreen lcd tv? Forget that crap. In Thailand a E-class merc with a puny 1.8 liter engine costs $120,000. In the states the most basic E-class with the smallest sized 3.5 liter engine costs what, $45,000? Lol at stories of "I'm homeless man, I'm living in my car..". If a guy in Asia heard that he'd go wait, how the fuck can u afford a car if you're poor? People in China (and other Asian countries) live with their siblings and parents until their marry not only because of culture, but because they just can't afford not to, including those engineers who went to decent colleges. The way it works in China due to cost of living and wage rates is that people are dependent on their parents way into their adulthood. What if you're parents don't have money? Well, you're fucked. The only ticket out of this, the only chance for a better life is if you studied very very hard, graduate as the top 3 students in your middle school in your rural province, get in a good high school where everybody spends 12+ hours a day solely on their academics, and hopefully get in a good technical program in a decent university. Even then after you graduate and get a white-collar job, your standard of living is still wayyyy lower than Joe the Plumber stateside.

So of course, kids are gonna be pressured to study all day with no time for social activities, dating, prom night or whatever. Studying hard is deeply rooted in the Chinese mindset, and for good reason. Americans are lucky to have the luxury to slack in school, go drinking and fuck around. That plus the sexual conservatism is why you have 20+ year old dudes who have never kissed in a girl in his life. Also adding to Chinese girls' emotional immaturity AKA she doesn't accept it when you fuck and dump her is that casual sex is not considered common and acceptable in their society. For the middle-class non-skanks, the traditionalists say sex is only acceptable after marriage; the liberals say that it's okay if it's with your boyfriend and he loves you very much. So if they have sex with you, to them you are considered girlfriend and boyfriend. Of course they are gonna be traumatized when you spit game (unheard of) and don't want anything to do with them after you dump your load. Why is it so hard for westerners to realize that casual sex and slutting it up in your teens is not mainstream in a country like China? And of course I'm talking about the majority; there will be exceptions where there are girls who know how to game the system by putting on a nice traditional girl facade for all to see and fuck alphas, rich guys and foreigners in private. The concept of face and public reputation is even more important than your actual behavior in private, but that's a whole other topic.

And by the way not allowing your daughter to go out after dark when she's 18 is extremely common in probably all Asian countries. In the parents' minds when their daughter is out late she could only either be getting drunk and slutting it up, or being in situations where she puts herself in danger of getting raped/robbed. Quite true too, when you come to think of it right?

Quote:The only thing the guys care about is buying a house and a car so they can in turn go buy a wife.
Duh of course. Remember that no matter how much a Chinese man and woman are "in love" he ain't marrying her if his family is not rich enough to afford the dowry. You are financially imposed to marry within your income bracket. And for the average Chinese man, if he's not married he's not getting much poon (aside from hookers).

I agree with you though that the modern Chinese wife is starting to wear the pants in many households, demanding materialistic shit. The men are still behind, not learning how to cope with the economic changes of the past 20 years and the resultant creeping entitlement of the women. Soon they'll learn than being the "nice" provider which has worked for 3,000 years isn't going to be cutting it anymore.

About the stupid questions on dating shows, have you watched dating shows in a number of countries? Of course the questions are going to be outrageous. If it's something you'd actually say in real life, then it would be mundane and wouldn't be on T.V. Low chance a woman actually pulls the is it okay if I'm angry with you often thing in real life and the guy casually accepts it. Its absurdity is meant to draw reactions and interest from viewers.

Regarding the modern Chinese woman not knowing domestic shores, it's only for those families who have maids, and only a small subset of women from those familys. Again the wage structure makes hiring full time maids ridiculously cheap, <$300 per month, so most upper middle class families are going to have one. Of all the richer families I know in Asian countries, no member of the family does their own household chores because they hire a maid to do it for them.

Oh and Chinese children actually take care of their parents when they're old, not leaving them to rot in old folks' home like in the "enlightened" west. Chalk it up to their Confucious values. Hell, the early Chinese immigrants would send back 50% of their wages to their family in China, while they themselves toil in poverty.

In all, I'd rather take a Chinese for a LTR than an American woman any day of the week. And if I just wanna fuck them, it doesn't really matter right?

1) I didn't say "tiny mind" Fathom did.

2) Please don't think for a second that I don't understand why Chinese study. Hello I lived there.

3) I wasn't putting down Chinese people I was explaining common traits.

4)I love when some tries to explain what Chinese poverty means to a guy that lived there. I think I have a pretty good grasp of what chinese graduates make vs Joe the Plumber.

5)My example of Chinese girls crying outside my door were gfs not casual sex.

6)I prefer a Chinese girl over an American girl generally speaking

7)The story about the girl not be able to go out at night is to give an example of why they behave in a childish manner and are less mature than their western counterparts.

This is not a put down it is an observation.

8)The typical urban chinese kid lives without siblings and with parents and often grandparents, and the adults do all the chores and look after them. The term for this generation is Little Emperors and this term came from Chinese not Westerners, and they often posses the traits discussed by Fathom and myself and if you read Chinese academics or any Chinese person over 40 they say similar things about this generation.

9) Yes chinese kids take care of the parents which ties back into why they are pressured to study and be successful by their parents.

Never said this was bad, but this constant pressure starting at age 6 has implications for their personality.

10)Of course I'm looking at it from a Western perspective, I'm Western.

I wan't being anti-chinese, I am not blaming them for their studying, shyness, immaturinty, perspectives, goals, etc.

I'm explaining what a typical chinese girls personality and value system is, why it is that way, and what it means for people living and working there or travelling there.

@The Conductor...I think we agree with each other.

Fathom is a little bitter because he just left there after a 2 year stint. That is normal, over time it passes.

@Clever Alias still 90% sure you are Dash.

Chinese girls complain regardless of socio economic background. If you lived there for any stretch of time you would know what we mean by complain. Not talking about this jewelry is not expensive enough complaining, we're talking about more day to day stuff they complain about. However since you are Dash in NC and not Clever Alias in Shanghai I wouldn't expect you to know this.

RE: cnn report on pua in china
Guys, awesome insight into the Chinese culture/psyche and girls' mentality. I have been looking at going to China and will be going soon, first as a reconnaissance trip and then, for a longer stint, to spend a few months, possibly a few years if I really like it. I want to learn the lingo, make contacts, get a piece of the China action in terms of biz opps and of course slaying as many of the hot China dolls as possible. Now, while I will be going to the main cities (Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzen, Guangzhou but also to Kunming, the city I've been hearing a LOT of praise has been Chengdu. Anyone in here with first hand experience of it? I keep hearing it's a great place to base yourself both for the location geographically but also as a city itself with a good nightlife, overall good weather, awesome food, cheap cost of living and apparently, the hottest women in China. All of this sounds too good to be true, so is it really as good as portrayed? Of course I will have to go myself but would love to hear the feedback of those familiar with China and Chengdu. I'm also all ears for other suggestions for other cities with the same potential/traits.

Also, I'm toying with the idea of bringing a nice ride with me to the city I'd be spending 2-3 years in China, say a nice BMW 328i or a 350 Merc, for social proof, but also for myself as I enjoy riding in a nice ride and of course, the girls would dig that too, specially in a 2nd tier city in China. What do the China experts think of that? Would that be worth to shipping such a car to China? Is it worth the headaches/expenses? How is driving in 2nd tier chinese ciites?

Also, once in China, would you guys recommend as a good monthly budget to have a good lifestyle? By good lifestyle, I mean, a nice pad in a good part of town, eating out 90% of the time, going out 4-5 times a week and having 3-4 hot girlfriends in rotation? If you could provide a ball park figure for say Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzen, Guangzhou, Kunming, Chengdu it would be awesome.

Thanks guys!

RE: cnn report on pua in china
what biz opps are you looking at? That will play into where you should go.

Been gone for years and it always gets more expensive but for a tier 2 city $3-4K and the big four $4-5K you could live very very well.

Having said that everyone's idea of living well is different.

I enjoyed my life spending $1k a month, decent pad with a roommate, went out 3 times a week, but had to think about what I spent money on, lived in a tier 2 for a frame of reference.

Nice modern pad $1,000+ a month, can double or triple that if you like.

nice modern 1 bedrooms don't really exist outside the big 4.

Why not buy a car there? Driving is stressful, parking can be a pain.

RE: cnn report on pua in china
Maestro,

Thanks for adding your input. Everything you say is true and I am aware of the other side of the coin. Someone once told me something that stuck with me: the Chinese build their future on the backs of those who love them. What he meant was, in a country where nothing is certain, where corruption, nepotism and bribery run rampant, where hard work is no guarantee of success, the only ones they can depend on are those close to them. Having said that, I'd like to point out a few other things.

I do not judge the Chinese on Western standards. That would be if I were to call them stupid because they don't do drugs and screw everything that moves while in college. I understand the pressure kids there face to build a life. And if they were merely boring because they are such hard, dedicated workers and have no time for personal interests, I'd be ignorant to blame them. Unfortunately, the reality runs more along these lines:

Studying hard does not in any way mean working hard.

Here is the typical hard-working Chinese college student: he thinks writing an essay means copying everything straight off the internet; the word “test” means it's time to openly chat with the people around you so you can figure out the right answer; he can't find Russia on a map; his idea of preparing for a test is getting together with classmates to “give the teacher a present”; he has never read a book in his life and has no earthly clue why he even should.

All this person cares about is passing tests and getting degrees, but he's not actually learning anything. And he doesn't need to, because the people who hire him won't care if he can actually do the job he purportedly studied for four years, they only care that it looks like he can. If he can't, he'll find someone to blame while kissing the right ass.

Chinese either do not care or honestly do not know how to do their job right. They only know how to pretend. In their culture, appearances aren't illusions—if it looks like something, it is something. You can see this in all aspects of their society. Chinese girls are experts at hiding their flaws with makeup, but they don't think they're hiding flaws, they truly believe they are “pretty.” A major shopping area with flashing lights and larger-than-life LED screens looks perfectly modern until you walk inside any of the bathrooms and find they stink like piss. A repairman who comes to your house for the third time to fix your sink takes out a hammer, gashes a hole in the wall, gives up, says he'll come back tomorrow, and disappears—because he figured if he only smashes something, it'll save him “face.” Saying, “I will send someone else to look at this tomorrow” would be crazy.

Quote:And by the way not allowing your daughter to go out after dark when she's 18 is extremely common in probably all Asian countries. In the parents' minds when their daughter is out late she could only either be getting drunk and slutting it up, or being in situations where she puts herself in danger of getting raped/robbed. Quite true too, when you come to think of it right?

I don't think so, no. Not necessarily. Raising your child in a cocoon because she might drink alcohol does more harm than good.

Quote:Duh of course. Remember that no matter how much a Chinese man and woman are "in love" he ain't marrying her if his family is not rich enough to afford the dowry. You are financially imposed to marry within your income bracket. And for the average Chinese man, if he's not married he's not getting much poon (aside from hookers).

That means buying a wife like you'd buy underwear is perfectly acceptable? Or mothers practically throwing their daughters at a complete stranger like a cheap whore because he has money is alright?

Quote:About the stupid questions on dating shows, have you watched dating shows in a number of countries? Of course the questions are going to be outrageous. If it's something you'd actually say in real life, then it would be mundane and wouldn't be on T.V. Low chance a woman actually pulls the is it okay if I'm angry with you often thing in real life and the guy casually accepts it. Its absurdity is meant to draw reactions and interest from viewers.

I understand using a television show is only anecdotal evidence but seen in a bigger context, I just don't think it comes down to simple shock value, mostly because none of the Chinese friends with whom I watched the show were ever shocked.

How about another one of Fathom's Famous TV stories?

In another show, people who wish to get an entry job into a given industry come on the show to be interviewed by a group of judges, all accomplished people in their field. The host guides the conversation as the judges try to figure out if this person is worth a shot.

One such guest was a young girl who had recently returned to China after studying four years in the United States. The host asked her what her major was, to which she replied literature. He asked her what kind of books she liked to read, to which she mentioned Shakespeare. Before I continue, let me assure you I played this back at least five times to make sure it really happened.

With no rhyme or reason, the hosts instantly switches his entire attitude toward her and says, “Why is it the more I speak with you, the colder I feel?” The girl is clueless. Then he starts complaining (indirectly) about how she reads all these foreign things. The more the girl tries to defend herself, the more he makes her out to be argumentative. Poor girl never had a chance. In the end, he says, “You are telling me about Shakespeare and this and that—here is OUR country.”

I wanted to find him and strangle the motherfucker with a barbed wire.

Imagine you're watching some show in America or some other Western country and a countryman of yours comes on and says, “I just spent four years studying in China, I was majoring in Chinese literature and I my favourite book is Dream of the Red Chamber.” Everyone would admire such a knowledgeable, learned person. But in China, you get lambasted by mental midgets on national television for it. I watched this with my Chinese girlfriend.

She was not shocked.

Neither was anyone else. Neither did this fucking idiot lose his job, nor was there any outrage expressed by entertainment columnists. It was just good old normal China.

You can't say these television shows do not represent the viewers' values.

Quote:Regarding the modern Chinese woman not knowing domestic shores, it's only for those families who have maids, and only a small subset of women from those familys.

Your experience differs from mine. The girls I met were by no means wealthy, yet they still had a maid come once a week to do everything. One of them told me her mother used to make her clean the house. Soon as mom left, she called a maid and pretended she cleaned it herself. Another time her mother didn't do the laundry so the girl took her clothes—every single piece of it—and threw them in the garbage. Her mother bought her new ones.

This post got longer than I intended. Point is, many think they can rationalize the Chinese condition with economic explanations. It's not enough. Being poor doesn't explain why you work hard to pass tests but have zero academic honesty. Having a one-child policy does not explain why you are so disgustingly selfish to the point where you are utterly incapable of empathy or even remotely ascertaining the mood of the person in front of you. (For the record, it is not true that Chinese can't have more than one child, plenty have brothers and sisters.)

Chinese do take care of their parents but that doesn't earn them a medal. They are basically forced into a cruel kind of servitude toward their parents which goes beyond “I love mommy and daddy so I will take care of them.” Chinese parents see their children as future banks. My girlfriend's mother carefully documented every single cent she gave her for living expenses while she was in college and made sure to throw it in her face nearly every month. It's not as rosy as you're making it sound.

I won't get into their complete lack of human compassion and utter inability to experience empathy, save for one brief example. My neighbour was an old lady who would always be walking up and down our steps with her infant grandson. She had seen me and my girlfriend countless times. My girlfriend and I would smile and say hi to the baby. We never gave any impression of being weirdos or dangerous or party animals.

One day, my girlfriend is feeling very light-headed and she must leave to get back to the dorm on time. Thinking she just has a bit of a headache, I let her go. Ten minutes later, I hear her voice calling to me faintly from outside. Shocked, I open the door and see her one floor down, sprawled across the stairs. She passed out and fell down the stairs. She told me later this old lady walked out of her apartment, saw my girlfriend, and walked right back in.

Tell me, what kind of a fucking soulless cunt acts this way? She knows who my girlfriend is, she knows who I am, and she's a mother and grandmother to boot. But hey, it's not my blood, so fuck this poor little tiny girl lying across the fucking stairs, why help her up or even run upstairs and knock on that nice boy's door, who always smiles at my grandson. Old fucking cunt. My blood is boiling thinking about this shit. Anyway...

Maestro,

While you do bring up valid and balanced points, I sense you are overcompensating somewhere.

Quote:In all, I'd rather take a Chinese for a LTR than an American woman any day of the week. And if I just wanna fuck them, it doesn't really matter right?

Neither is much better than the other. But if you like a girl who blames you for not watching her watch TV, or who throws a two-hour tantrum because you didn't drop every single thing in your life and console and coddle her when she has her fucking period, or who blames you because she got a cold (they get angry with you for anything that goes wrong with them), then I wish you luck.

By the way, your rhetorical question in the end there... The girl I had refused to let in the house had gone amok and systematically broken every fragile thing in the house, from plates, to full-length mirrors, to glasses, to my cell phone. She did that when I made the grave error of leaving her alone in the apartment for ten minutes while, like a fool, went to buy us both food and let us cool off from a rather ridiculous, juvenile argument. At this point I could throw back my own well-placed, sarcastic retort, but I'll let my story speak for itself.

Lastly, in writing this I do not intend to prove you wrong and, believe it or not, I do not hate the Chinese. In fact, I miss China. I miss those silly, impressionable little Chinese girls and I rather feel for those young guys who truly are hard workers and honestly do want to make something of themselves. Perhaps we're both right. Maybe there really are honest, educated men and women with real interests who appreciate knowledge and care about others. I did not go to every city in China. I just know I met very such people in mine. Some of them really looked out after me and took care me in ways that moved me.

[To future readers: If you are a newbie considering going to China for fun and exploration, this conversation has now veered into interesting but, for you, impractical territory. Go enjoy yourself in China and, after you come back, feel free to dig up this old thread and argue further. Haha.]

TL;DR: The Conductor provides some balanced and needed counter-points but I feel they do not justify or excuse the issues.

AB ANTIQUO, AB AETERNO

Vacancier, lie i told you before, forget about bringing your car,the import tariffs and regulations are fucked up. If you want more info about it then post your questions on the HUBB ( Horizons Unlimited ) forum. There is a guy who posts on there who is in the Shanghai motorcycle club and he knows all the details better then anyone. Believe me though, unless you are mega loaded you won't bother.

haha, Fathom and I could trade stories on here all day.

I'll quickly add this and hopefully go away for the day.

I've asked dozens if not hundreds of chinese if they were ever asked in a job interview what their grades were.

Answer: never

If you get into college you graduate. Period. Fail your final examen? You take it again. Fail again, buy your professor dinner or a gift and you pass.

Why? It would not be harmonious for a student to fail. Student looks bad and profesor looks bad.

Your life revolves around the gaokao (college entrance exam). Best of the best and rich connected kids, and kids of party member big whigs go off to Tsinghua, Jiao Tong, Fudan, Zhejiang, or Peking University or study abroad.

Graduate

Move to the big 4, the east coast or your province's capital and bust your ass for peanuts.

There are exceptions but this your goal starting at 6 years old...enjoy

that's why I'm sitting the dorms of a Chinese University right now, not in Shanghai, about an hour away. And I would be more than happy to confirm this to Roosh. I'm not there teaching English or just working, I'm studying here, living in the same building and taking classes with Chinese

I did not meant the tv shows. reflects average population necessarily, I mean it reflects some of the attitude of many girls might have. Chinese girls are probably more friendly and more frank than probably alot of American girls, that is probably true.

We know life is fucking tough in CHina and u gotta work hard to get somewhere and people are conservative. Yes we know that CHinese kids are under enormous pressure to care for their parents and have a family. Duh, it is better to have LTR with Chinese girl except for really spoiled and crazy ones than crazy uncommitted demanding American girl, but urban divorce rate in China are getting quite high, up to 50% in some places and a lot urban people don't know to do alot practical things and have high expectations . But Chinese girls aren't great as people make out they are, but they are still pretty good if they are not spoiled and knows to do shit, and reasonably humble and hardworking. An average village or even urban Chinese girl ain't that hot, many with busted faces, this is not Balto-slavic country where an average girl is fit, u have aim for the upper tier for the hot girls.

My current level of income is sufficient for the dorm/hotel i'm in now (which is subsidized by the Govt), plus extraneous benefits: proximity to the school, favorite clubs, and of course nothing improves language skills faster than living with a bunch of natives (which I admittedly could probably do off campus)

If you don't see why I wrote "that shit", I suggest you start reading through the archives of this forum you just recently joined Noobie. Not just my experiences, many here.....and maybe, you'll undertand why "that shit" is pointless. More so in a society where men outnumber women in absurd records like China.

Mixx

Depends of the damned culture, you first need to live in a country and learn its culture to really understand what is perceived as normal or not out there. Don't think because men outnumber women in china the situation and picking up lines will be the same than in North America, where even if there where 2 women for every single guy they still would like to play games and wear bitch shield, the number is a factor that exist there but most is still largely explained for cultural patterns.
