Going to sound like a massive music snob, but fuck it.

My issue with clubs is that 99% of the music they play is horrible. If I'm going to 'clubs' now there is only two reasons:

1) A decent event on run by reputable organisers - solid international dj who won't sell out and play shit that the venue orders him to
2) Large group of friends going and interested in said females attending

If I actually enjoyed the commercial rubbish that gets spouted I'd go more regularly. Once you experience some intimate events with amazing djs and great crowds, you don't give a shit about 'picking up'. It's just great to loose yourself in the music, and bond with girls and guys who aren't taking selfies. Now, it almost becomes cringe-worthy every time I step into one of those 'super-clubs'.

Of course, the catch-22 is that hot girls won't attend an event if the headliner isn't Tiesto/Avicii/Kaskade etc

I've heard a number of reports in Vegas that quality acts are being told what the play and essentially compromise their integrity to play to the masses. Mark Farina was booted off for playing too much 'house':

There's no way I can support a system like this. Even in Sydney, the 'best' djs only go to biggest venues who can spot their ridiculous fees. As a result their sets always suffer and they end up playing to an uninterested crowd.

For me anyway, it feels like going out to typical club you play this charade where you pretend like you're enjoying yourself. Everything is fake and everyone is narcissistic. Don't get me wrong, you can get laid from clubs, but I'd rather meet women through other, more enjoyable means. The rush I get from an instadating a hot 20yo is more than a ONS from a club-slut these days.

I think the death of good music has a lot to do with nightclubs sucking. Go to a hipster bar. The music sucks (too suburban and lacks soul) but the crowds go crazy.

You don't see that in nightclubs anymore. Its just trashy commercial music. Nicholas Taleb once said 'Collective wisdom halves every decade'. I agree completely. Listen to popular music today and tell me you want to listen to that on repeat. Its all about white girls rhyming about alphas or black thugs rhyming about their guns. 21 years ago you had Nirvana and Frusciante RHCP. Even though RHCP sucks now, their music was great back then. Under the Bridge and Lithium are arguably the two most important rock songs of the 90s.

Man, I hate rich club kids. They tend to be pretty stupid and only into partying/ drugs. I bet the kids at the Farina & Shadow shows only wanted him to play commercial songs that went well with their cocaine/ molly moods.

Pretty sure guys only go to clubs to get laid and girls only go for the attention. No one goes there for music anymore. Not trying to hate on clubs here but I enjoy music bars/ small electronic clubs more than big clubs/ college bars (which are technically clubs with only a crappy dance floor and bar). You have a more genuine vibe and its easier to vibe with chicks. You can just talk about the music that both of you like. You won't have the 9/10 VIP sluts there but there are plenty of 7s and 8s. You're automatically "in" if you like the same music she does.

To each their own though. If you like the soulless mainstream shit out there, good for you. If not, try out some more genuine locations.

Interesting you mention this, I'm kind of like you BUT I simply accept it...

It's one of those things where guys who work in nightlife would say "You go throw your own events then". If I could fly certain DJs to NY, I would.

That said, reason you won't find good music at most venues is because then you'd "lose yourself to the music" instead of buying more alcohol. Headline DJs bring in the people and gives them an excuse to markup the prices.

Hipster bars have better music (more times than not) that said it's ironic one of the top venues actually play amazing deep house and downtempo music. (That's exception to the rule)

Club game is just like any skill. You're going to have to put in work to get good at it and achieve real results. I really don't think the average guy out there is going to put in the time and effort to figure everything out. If you really want access to top tier women and a social scene where you're going to meet interesting, successful, like minded people in a fun cultivating environment I suggest going out more often. I can't speak for every club scene around the world, but I do understand how LA clubs work. They're ego-centric. Without going too much into detail I would break it down as such:

1) Understand the best places and which evenings with the type of women you want. The barrier to entry for top level venues is going to force you to up your game.
2) Grease and get to know the staff: owners, promoters, door men, bartenders, table service girls, and security. It's about "face control" or facial recognition. If they see you're face enough, you're a regular and familiar so you're more likely to go out.
3) Show up with girls. Some you can use as pivots to get through a tough door and bring your girls to a table where guys are spending money on bottles or bring them to a promoter table where the bottles are comped and they get graded on the quality and amount of girls at the table by management
4) Always have logistics on lock. Have a place to pull. Prepare for success.
5) Mingle and always try to meet / get contact information of girls that are the hub of their social circle to invite them to other events. Guys with girls or guys that seem to be well connected - include them in your social circle and you will quickly see your influence expanding. Girls want to be led so have a plan and make sure it's fun and enticing.

I know a guys who are good looking or have game and only do online game. It boggles my mind that if these guys had confidence to approach IRL they would do sooooooooooo much better. Online game has really made "passive aggressive" gaming and "rejection" so much easier

Sad but true. My buddy is a MBA and ex marine in good shape with a promising future and he'd rather spend his time swiping low quality women on tinder than actually going out and meeting amazing women. He complains the girls are "weird" from online. Big surprise. I believe it comes down to laziness and/or fear.

hahah DL. Your history reads somewhat like my history (sans the 4x partying schedule). I started getting burnt out of straight clubbing half-way through grad school in SF. I started hitting the LGBT clubs w/my gay friends in SF. It was fn amazing. Taught me a lot about enjoying the night and music. Gay people know how to party.

I was pretty much only looking for swoops back then and mellowed way out after hitting all the gay clubs. Funny enough a big "fear" of mine was getting molested by gay guys. Honestly it was basically a non-issue. Gay guys knew I wasn't gay, and actively setup me up their girls. It was hysterical hanging w/them and shooting the shit.

I learned a lot from how different gay guys tried to pick me up. Some shit just creeped me out and others I was OK w/them hitting on me, but they and I respected that firm line that I was non-gay. After 3-4 months, I started getting tired of the LGBT scene and went back to regular clubs.

I absolutely massacred it because I learned so much about having fun and being cool person to EVERYBODY. Normal people are so square. clichey, and boring. Id rather have a funny gay dude then a straight square as a friend.

I got a buddy good looking guy kind of Looks like Cordell Peterson From the vikings he is 6'4, broad shoulder works out, buff, and has the long dreads as well and is Nigerian but gets mistaken for being Jamaican for his accent

He approaches this brunette, slim waist, beautiful blue eyes, and a nice juicy ass tonight and they talk. For a bit she then asked him

Now I pull something out of my ass just to fuck with her, but also be a good wingman and butt in

"No I don't play football I'm just a regular guy..." he says

She looks at me and I play it cool and say to him

The chick either was naive or we sold it well it's a combination of both.
