RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
Why hasn't this been developed in the West? We (men) have revolutionized female contraceptives many times over. It's far from perfect but look at the options open to women these days from modest rings, to polluted and strong depo shots that take a woman's hormones to hell and back.

Why hasn't this same unit or research look at the waiting market of men and done something to go after this? I agree that it's highly political and no group or corp wants to touch that bees hive that would result in giving men freedom from not having to risk knocking up a broad.

This all just shows the selflessness of men. I can't even think of a bigger game changer then this to the average man as a individual. Look at the mountains of things men have given women, but have not given himself. Men don't ask for much and I really do believe this would be the most transcendent tool given to men in over 50 years.

India from why I've read culturally ain't down with condoms, and they have a population that needs to be kept in check. No surprise they took this challenge on with likely the second biggest pharmaceutical industry outside of the USA and sections of Europe. Another reason I have been more bull on India over China as they actually invent stuff. Innovation over their side kicks China's balls ten times over.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
"Feminists may say they want this but they don't. I mean look at how they treat something simple like a paternity test-they fight it tooth and claw. Much more so something that takes the option of having a child out of their control, which means that they have no control over their bodies which is what they obsess over. "

You and others are just spouting baseless paranoia.

Educated single white feminists don't want kids. They really don't. Anything that reduces their odds of getting kids, they are more or less behind. Many also don't like that they have to take birth control to avoid getting pregnant, due to the effort, expense and side effects incurred. Giving the chore of birth control to a man is desirable to them - insofar as they trust him. These 32 year old spinsters entrapping men with their wombs are more or less figments of your imagination. They don't get pregnant that easily to begin with.

Who loses from male birth control? The women who are looking to get pregnant from single men. Who is currently getting pregnant outside of marriage? It's not educated white girls, or their Asian peers. It's black women and Hispanic women. It's white and Asian women without  a 4 year college degree. Some of these women who had bastards would probably preferred not to have a baby, while some wanted the baby, marriage be damned. And surely some of the fathers wanted the baby too, while others were indifferent or merely irresponsible.

There's another group that loses from male birth control, but I see them as pretty small - married women who want a kid but their husband doesn't.

Why has male birth control not reached the market? It's hard. The FDA has hinted it won't approve a hormonal method, because it knows that hormonal treatments are already risky as it is, and it doesn't want to unleash a hormonal treatment that will capture the market and prevent a non-hormonal option from getting made. Having both men and women take hormones would be taking a step back from a public health perspective, especially in concert with the spread of STDs from diminished condom use. And big pharma doesn't see much money in it, for whatever reason. I'm not an expert on this stuff, but a lot of the female contraceptive devices are more less variations on the same theme - pump a chick with hormones through various pathways, and she won't conceive.

I do see some public health types worrying about male birth control, but not because they hate men. They don't give a shit about men, one way or the other. Their sole concern is STDs, men be damned, and a male pill could lead to less condom use and a greater prevalence of STDs, so they will be wary.

Paternity testing is different, because women have almost nothing to gain from it, given the status quo. As it is, if a woman has a kid and claims it's a man's, she's generally believed - she didn't need a paternity test to prove it. So the paternity test is all downside and little upside for today's woman. Male birth control by contrast has considerable upside for a young professional career woman, for the reasons stated above.

Notice how the important message in the story is what impact it will have on women?

It's great news. Get on the Parsemus site and donate if you want control of your reproductive destiny.

I have a money minded question.

I live in India (no irt).

Do you guys think I could start a side hustle selling this to foreign countries once this comes out?

Edit: Sorry didn't do my research. Looks like this is one thing that probably won't need to be sold.

I don't know man. Fact is, both RISUG and vasalgel are underfunded. If they got the same funding as female birth control has got in the past, they'd already be available.

I was reading about RISUG and I came across this:
Quote:The human trial of the contraceptive injection started 19 years ago and has already been patented in India, China, the US, Malaysia and Indonesia.

19 fucking years and it's still in Phase III tests DodgyUndecided

the baboon study cost $77,000.

They need to go public, do an IPO. I've already donated, but I'd be dumping cash into them if I get some equity out of it.

I would too, AntiTrace. Can you imagine what those shareholders meetings would be like?!

More importantly - would anyone become one of the human subjects?

Considering the low funding of the baboon trials, I can't assume the trials will pay much. I expect the Parsemus Foundation to do an alter call for any young, productive men who would sacrifice their units for science.

I would.

The primary reason I donated was because they said all suitable donors would be put on a list and get first consideration for human trials.

Fuck, I'll do a human trial right now. I'll be patient zero. Worst case scenario is that it doesn't work and I knock a chick up in the process or become infertile. Regardless, I'm more than willing the be the Alan Shepard of male birth control.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
Once it becomes operational, RISUG will be everywhere. Have some NFL player with 13 kids and 10 baby mommas be the spokesman. Every pro sports coach will be busing his team to the dick clinic.

And I do think that RISUG will get more support from liberal and feminist types as it progresses.

Why has it not until now? I don't agree with the more malicious sounding conspiracy theories. I see two prime causes: greed and solipsism. The way RISUG is sold is a flat one time payment. Just like an IUD, which have grown in popularity but are still nowhere as popular as the pill.

As for solipsism, I think all the money in contraception research was "for the women" - how can we help the women? And who gives a shit about men. When it becomes clear that RISUG benefits women too, it will get more funding. How does it benefit women? Mainly by providing contraception without all the adverse health effects of female contraceptives. The feminist articles in support of I cited earlier are evidence for that, that women want it.

The feminists that oppose paternity testing are small and the people who run these large women only organizations can't let normal people view them as crazy. Anyone who opposes this for the reasons stated in the above posts won't look good when they go in front of a camera. PR and public opinion is against them.

False. Paternity testing is majorly restricted in many places, including France and Germany.

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parental_testing

When a woman fingers a woman as the father, the courts believe her. Paternity tests can only show that she is lying - if they back up what she says, the default outcome does not change. It's like getting audited for fraud. If you pass with flying colors, are you going to get a grand prize? No. But if you don't pass, you're in for some heat.

Plus there are a lot of liberal and feminist types who promote adoption and see blood relations as passé.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
Feminist Valenti writes a retarded article questioning whether men would use RISUG.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree...-they-come

Her argument is, 'if men don't use condoms then why would they get their penis injected with a needle.'

I don't understand how she can be such an idiot:

1. Men do use condoms. Most girls I fuck insist on it, at least initially. No condoms, no sex.
2. To the extent that men don't use condoms, it's often because condoms make sex a lot less pleasurable. RISUG/Vasalgel won't have that effect.

You could just as easily say, "hey there's all these chicks getting pregnant when they have the option of getting an IUD - clearly chicks don't care enough to use IUDs so they're not even worth having around." That's a stupid argument too - you don't need everyone to use something for it to provide value to some people. The IUD is a great option for many women, as would RISUG be for men.

God damn she is stupid.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
New article about Vasalgel. Covers a lot of the reasons that explain why male contraception doesn't get much love, mainly the female market is already cornered and pharma companies are risk-averse, but there's this nugget about how research funding is going to 3rd-world countries:
Quote:The Parsemus Foundation is especially important because it is occupying a niche that’s even neglected by most contraception-focused non-profits: male contraception. The Gates Foundation and US Agency for International Development fund contraceptive research. Big groups like this tend to focus on emerging markets. The presiding wisdom is that in these more traditional societies, birth control is still very much a “women’s issue,” and men are less receptive to anything that might limit their virility.

“These agencies have funded wonderful advancements in new products and options for women,” Martucci Johnson says. “We just haven’t seen that for men. That can’t be their focus because of the cultural dynamics in the places they’re working. In a lot of these countries, the more children a man has, the more powerful he is perceived as.”

Not mentioned: The legal system isn't set up to enforce paternity payments if you accidentally knock someone up when you live in a mud hut.

This graphic also gives a simple overview of how Vasalgel works:

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
I used to give contraceptive injections (myself) to my girlfriend. It was a monthly dose. I don't trust any girl. Too many stories about "Oh I forgot to take ONE pill" or "I was on the pill and I got pregnant anyways".

Two years ago my girlfriend got an implant the size of a match who goes inside the arm. It lasts 5 years and it was a great decision. I only finish inside her about 5% of the time. Never had any problems or "surprises".

A friend of mine used to carry a next-day pill with him. When banging a girl he removed the condom in the middle of the bang (saying girls won't stop anyways). Next day in the morning he put the pill in front of the girl and tell them to drink it. High-risk guy. He lost a lot of weight recently and I thought he got AIDS but it was just another type of diet.

This vasagel seems great. I just want to wait for more studies. Finasteride is supposed to be a great medication with "rare cases of problems" but guess what, I got erection problems while taking and took me a year to recover. And believe me when I say it wasn't placebo. I got physical symptoms.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
Latest email update on Vasalgel is out now - they're planning the first human clinical trials next year.

Having looked into similar trials, I'd assume that they'll be looking for older married guys with kids, who'd otherwise go for a vasectomy. Globe-trotting love tourists will not be the target of the first round.

I've donated again, I want to live in a world where men have this option open to them.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
This can't come soon enough.

I get excited about this birth control like I use to get excited about Christmas as a kid.

In the past year, I've run into a handful of chicks who weren't on birth control and some who outrightly refuse to use it due to the risks (which I can understand). I had to shut down one chick partially because she refused to go on BC in fact. No way in hell I'm going to see a chick regularly and not be able to rawdog and blast inside. That's one of the major benefits of having a steady chick.

I really hope this becomes the real deal in the near future. If this actually becomes a thing and works as intended, the game is going to change in some pretty big ways.

RE: Update on Vasalgel Male Contraceptive
I think Basil is being incredibly naive taking feminists at their word. These are the same people that bleet "I don't need a man", while happily accepting confiscatory child support and alimony payments. Women will say whatever they want as long as it gives themselves greater status or power. When it's time to face the music, they'll deny, rationalize, or move the goalposts. Come on, this is old news.

By giving men a discrete and reversible birth control method, it prevents women from baby trapping a guy. This happens way more than anyone wants to admit, and is probably the reason for at least 20% of marriages with women aged 30 and older. My friends are middle class and above, and of the young parents that I know, more than half of the pregnancies resulted from the woman saying she was on the pill or unable to get pregnant. The women were 34, 32, and 31. The 34 year old originally said she didn't want kids, and when pressed for an abortion, said she changed her mind. The 32 year old said she couldn't get pregnant. She's now on her 2nd pregnancy. The 31 year old said she was on the pill. See a pattern here? Kind of strange that all these happened when the women were nearing the end of their biological clock. If it was up to the guy, none of these would have happened.

This would also prevent paternity fraud/cuckolding. I'd guess that at least 20% of all children today aren't the biological offspring of the 'father'. If a couple were to agree that the guy get a sure-fire birth control method, it would be hard to deny what happened when she got pregnant again.

When it comes close to being released, feminists will do a 180 and fight this tooth and nail. They're only they support it now because it makes it sound like birth control is a burden on women, and women are the responsible sex. Birth control in the exclusive hands of women gives them power, but if something comes out that gives men power over their reproduction, women will fight it tooth and nail. Expect to see

- Not 100% effective
- Encourages STDs (But what about the pill? Nevermind, you're a misogynist.)
- Guys will say they're on vasalgel and leave the woman with the baby.
- etc.

I leave you with
