[Media/Culture] Just how bad are things over in Europe?
It seems to me that in the USA, Canada, and to a slightly lesser extent in the the rest of the Anglosphere, insanity reigns as the media is whipping up anti-male, "progressive" sentiment. In the age of Obama, social justice crusading is the de facto religion of the millennial generation especially. Slutwalks, feminists tweeting the dongle jokes of IT guys to get them fired, blaming spree killings on MRAs, all this stuff creating a toxic atmosphere.

For European guys (outside the UK and Scandinavia), I'm wondering how things are over there? Specifically countries like France, Germany, Italy, Spain. Is the state of war between the sexes as bad as in the Anglosphere? Are Facebook feeds a wasteland of Marilyn quotes, harpies and white knights? Are trashy clickbait websites (like Buzzfeed, Upworthy) starting to become indistinguishable from respected media and dumbing down the population? Are French or Dutch young people becoming flabby Reddit-style goons as much as in the USA?

My guess is that things might be slightly better, but I'm not expecting an oasis.

Dr Johnson rumbles with the RawGod. And lives to regret it.

To be honest, its all blown out of proportion.

I have yet to come across this type of hysteria from social circles, work or out in public in the UK and I suspect it is the same throughout the EU.

You're giving way to much credit to the MSM on these issues.

Don't mistake the media as the popular mindset. I'm in the Upper Midwest and feminists are either rare, or I just don't spend time in places where they frequent. Either way, I've either lived and traveled around the majority of the US and I don't don't see the issue much in real life.

Even though the media is complete shit and makes me lose faith in humanity, I know that a lot of people in real life don't agree with or even pay attention to the media.

Spend less time on the internet/newspapers/etc. and spend more time meeting and hanging out with people with a similar mindset.

I've never read a mainstream news article and had the feeling that it had enriched my life in some way afterward.

Absolutely. If everything is running smoothly, babies are born, wives nag, people die in their 80s, car companies sell cars, farmers complain about the weather....

The news HAS TO exaggerate something.

There has never been a headline:

"Everything is Proceeding Normally. Enjoy your life, Death is Waiting."

"The goal of {amoral} capitalism is to reduce all human interaction to the cash nexus." L. D.

American mainstream media pretends as though there's the West Coast and the East Coast, and nothing in between really matters.
