I'd be interested to see regional variation. I live in Devon, and there really aren't that many fat women around, especially in my age bracket- 17. That said, a lot of girls would gain a point if they lost like 15 lbs.

The article also mentions that there are more overweight men in the UK than women. Was BMI used? I found that I became 'overweight' when I began to work out and to put on muscle despite looking thinner.

BMI was used.....but although there are some "oddities".....like most pro Rugby players.....Rowers etc are classed as "obese"...because they have huge weights (all muscle).....let us face it most of the people for this survey will be tubs of lard.

Body Fat % would be a better gauge...but how many women (or men for that matter) can say there BMI is genuine showing they are "obese" because they go running at a couple of "All Blacks" on the weekend?!

Women are only as fat as the men will let them get away with.

Lot of beta dudez here in the UK.

Women might get angry at fat shaming. But inside you know they agree with you.

London is practically an independent city-state with little in common with wider UK demographics when it comes to wealth, health, age, education and ethnicity.

Yeah, it's possible. I live in Devon, and haven't spent much time in the north, so I don't really have a feel for it. I think the quality is actually pretty high where I am though, and exeter gets a lot of the hot uni students as well.

they look okay, usually much better then the anglo stock you find in lets say English Speaking anglo countries as NZ, US and UK. Canada and Sweden has some better ones.
