Whenever I think I have figured women out, I discover that I really don't have figured them out at all. Hear this:

So I recently met this cute French girl through my best friend. She's a roommate of him and so when I was at their place that's when I met her.
For some reason this chick decided to tell me she recently got dumped by her boyfriend and she tried to use me as a shoulder to cry on. I pretended to listen but I kept an Alpha frame and really didn't care about her drama. I was still with my ex back then but I did flirt with this French girl because that's just how I am (I always flirt with all pretty women).
So recently I broke up with my ex, and not long after this French chick approached me and asked me out. Yes, you're reading that right, she asked me out. Can you fucking believe it? I was genuinely surprised myself, but I agreed and told her I would let her know when I have time for her. She gave me her number and told me to Whatsapp her when I know.

So far so good right? Looks like this chick is definitely interested right? Well, then the following happened that just genuinely confused the fuck out of me:

She and I planned a date together, and when everything was set she asked me: "What will we do for dinner that day?"
I said: "Well I'm a really good cook, so I'm going to take you to my place and I'll cook something nice for us. You'll be surprised how good it will taste."
She, knowing what my place looks like and knowing that I have no garden or balcony or any place to sit outside, replied: "Well, the weather will be really nice that day so I rather sit outside. How about you take me out for dinner and we'll eat somewhere nice in the city outdoors?"
When I was staring with disbelief at her she quickly added: "Don't get me wrong, I don't want this to be a romantic date or anything. Let me be very clear, I'm not interested in that. In my eyes we're just two very close friends having a good time together."
(note: This chick and I barely know each other. I don't consider her a friend at all, nevermind a close one.)

I still couldn't believe what this chick was saying. But after a brief pause I decided to go with the agree-and-amplify response: "I agree, we're just two very close friends having a good time, which is why I'm genuinely surprised why you want me to take you out for dinner. I only do that with chicks who I have a romantic interest in. But fuck it, I'm down. But let me be very clear as well; I'm not going to pay for your dinner. You pay for your food, I pay for mine. After all, we're just very close friends having a good time and I normally don't pay dinner for my friends, not even my very close ones."
She agreed and then I decided which restaurant I'm gonna take her out to.

But seriously, what the actual fuck? What's wrong with this chick? Is she actually interested in me or not? Do you think she wants me as a fuck buddy, or did she actually try to put me into the friendzone? If she's trying to put me into the friendzone, she's out of luck. I'm not gonna let that happen.

Thursday is the day of the date, and I'm definitely going to try to physically escalate with her. I've decided I'm going to use her "very close friends having a good time" bullshit against her. If she is hesitant about me physically escalating, I'll just say: "Hey, don't worry about it, we're just two very close friends having a good time, remember?"

I'm genuinely curious how this date will play out. What do you guys think?

Of course she's interested.

You're just gonna have to be very aware of the shit tests from this one.

Before this date even starts, I think you have to be very very firm, perhaps even explicitly, that you don't want a friend.

Slightest hint of non compliance and I'd consider flaking on her and re-arranging for drinks another time.

I just don't like wasting my time as on the whole women are pretty boring.

Ya. She wants the D. She's single, you're single now. Go on a non date date and proceed as if it's a date. Since you are agreeing it's a friend thing you can actually use that as a great conversation. The whole Plato and the three types of friends. And whether men and women can be friends. Also my friend said that in groups friends help each other get laid. Then go and talk about the things women and men do not talk about and whether she's into bsdm and swinging.. you know. Just go for broke

Could have to do with 1) Her French culture and 2) Her upbringing where she was told "a gentleman takes out a girl to dinner." Sometimes European chicks expect food.

It's solid that after your ballsy text, she still complied with the date. If she wants to be outdoors, you can also do a quick picnic at a grassy area near your place with sandwiches or a pasta salad plus a few sides and a bottle of wine. Hell, you can even go to Whole Foods and get everything you need for $20. After the picnic, mention a movie or Netflix at your place and close the deal.

This is when you laugh in her face and tell her "Thursday, my place, 8pm. You bring the wine". Her whole ramble was a shit test to see how far she can push it.

haha, a smart girls way of throwing a curve-ball LMR along the lines of; "we're not having sex" before she thinks the possibility has entered your head.

Too bad for her you're a wolf in sheeps clothing. Sounds like a closet nympho who needs a firm hand. I say you should amplify the sexual tension during the meal and see how she reacts.

- she caught sight of you while in her relationship (typical)
- she is on the rebound
- she's interested
- she realizes that there's a potential for rebound sex
- she wants to forestall any rebound sex by telling you that you're just going out as friends
- her not wanting you to make dinner on the first date, is keeping herself away from your bed (plus amongst girls, a house date as the first date is bad form - I definitely would have not suggested that. Tuthmoses Formula 2 bars and back to Casa de WIA)

It could really go either way, depends on how much attraction and sexual tension you build up during the date.

Before the date happens, have your place clean and stocked (condoms, bottles/boxes of wine, netflix, whatever your end move is)

Before and during dinner, promise her "dessert" at your place. OVERPROMISE. "

Yo I got the best Chocolate Lava Cake at the Crib, straight out of the Jean Georges cookbook."

(and if she asks who Jean Georges is, tell her that he's the French Chef with the restaurant in NYC that invented it, and look at her like she's uncultured)

If the vibe heats up, touch barrier is broken, she's a little more gregarious, proceed as usual.

If not, bounce at 10 pm and hit the clubs.

Whatever you do, don't spend any prime time with this chick post dinner if she just wants to be "friendly".

A chick on the rebound wants the intimacy of a man w/o putting out SEX. Sex is what got her in this mess in the first place, is what she's thinking.

Never be a chick's emotional tampon. Soaking up all her Emo for 7 days until she's ready to fuck again, at which point she throws you away.

She has to learn that the world of worthy men is a cruel place. If she wants to lay her head on your chest, and bask in your strength, it's only after she's swallowed your babies.

it's just push pull..not to be overanalyzed..sure take her out, make her pay her half or let her get the whole check, and then say "we're going to the next place..." she doesn't need to know what the next place is until you're there. field tested.
