In almost every topic on here you will see alpha vs beta debate. Why? The real world is not black and white. You can not always be alpha in all situations and not all betas are useless chumps. In reality people are a mixture of alpha and beta.

Furthermore I feel like its not right to always push guys to be alpha. Thats not the way nature intended it to be. Look at the animal world, you see one main alpha in all groups. You can not just "train" someone to be alpha because thats not who they are deep down. It will just look try hard and fake.

I think most important thing is not to be a clueless beta who is a doormat to women. But that does not make one an automatic hardcore alpha! Just a normal regular dude who lives a good life, gets women, can flirt and date/bang them.

This is a game forum whose purpose, among other things, is to discuss how to improve results with women. Alpha behavior improves results with women. Do you see the connection between this forum being a forum on improving results with women and, at the same time, the forum leaning towards encouragement of alpha behavior, versus beta behavior?

If you are happy with yourself and your results with women, and with life in general, by all means, go ahead and make no changes. This forum, in large part though, is about self improvement, so, that's where the push comes from.

It's not "obsessed". Rather, most situations do have (at least by degrees) a distinction between the alpha and beta side, and it is so thoroughly misunderstood and misused by the general public/mainstream media that it behooves us to provide correct analysis to offset this public lack of knowledge.

That said, there have been some ridiculous example like alpha/beta discussions of late (like the famous "Was this Beta ™" thread), but you will note that the offenders are quickly laughed away and no one discusses their topics seriously.

There is no problem with alpha/beta. Carry on.

I am all for improvement. But being more "alpha" isnt the only way to go about it. In fact in many situations its not even necessary to be the biggest dog on the block. Like I said there are very few true alphas in this world, the rest are a mixture of alpha and beta or just wanna bes.

In my opinion, actions can't be "alpha" or "beta". I cringe when people ask "what would be the alpha thing to do?"

They've become buzzwords. Being an alpha male or a beta male is in your makeup. Imitating a characteristic of either one doesn't make you that type of person. For example, a beta guy saying "I did the alpha thing and told her to suck my dick instead of calling her pretty" - that's not "being alpha". That's just a guy who's got a bit more confidence to say something to get a girl (i.e. game). He's still who he is.

You've also got to take into account other "types" of people. I'm neither alpha nor beta. My actions and personality would "make me alpha", but looking at me, you wouldn't say so. I'm not big and I don't have groups of men following me to listen to my advice and wait for my instructions to do something. I'm not a leader or an organiser for people - both characteristics of a genuine alpha male.

That said, people want to imitate the behaviours of more respected men in order to improve their life. Too many guys on here get confused between "having game" and "being alpha".

False, people grow and change. The most "alpha alphas" tend to have been the most supplicating pussies on the planet before they got slapped around a bit.

Alpha/Beta is a simplistic way to divide men whom women consistently find attractive from men whom women don't find attractive. Alternatively, you can look at it as men who get women regularly vs. men who don't.

I don't love the terminology because it's really been bastardized by the seduction community and the "manosphere," but it's accurate to a certain extent. However, it's not particularly close to what the animal kingdom definition is.

The dichotomy of alpha and beta is grossly misused in the community. What people call alpha here, they actually meant sigma.

A true alpha is a leader among man. A sigma is someone who focuses his energy almost exclusively on women. A sigma tend to have a higher notch count than a true alpha because he focuses on getting laid so much, whereas a true alpha is successful in all aspects of his life; he is THE MAN, whether there are girls around or not.

Alpha and sigma can be distinguished pretty easily. Sigma gets laid by approaching women. Alpha gets laid by women approaching him and he turning down those he's not interested in. He might occasionally do an approach here and there, and when he does, he rarely ever gets rejected. Since being a true alpha is partly genetic, most of us are actually striving to be sigmas.

I said Sigma, not alpha. A better way to put it is someone who spends a significantly more time thinking about and trying to get laid than an average person.
For a true alpha, it's not really something that crosses his mind much. It kind of just happens. I would say a true alpha might even laugh at the concept of game. He would probably say something like "why do you need game to get laid?"

A formal definition of alpha male is literally leader among men. People here want to measure "leadership" by notch count, which is mistaken. In reality, what makes an alpha is social status, how much relational power you have over other MEN, just that in a naturally environment, those who have higher social status also tend to get laid more. But getting laid alone does not make someone alpha.
