Met a girl this morning and got number.

She is headed out of town in two days so time is obviously of essence. We had pretty good repoire and she asked me a few questions about myself.....smiled and said my name;

When I left her after 30 minutes I texted:

Nice to meet you Becky, Rob

3 minutes later she texted:

Enjoyed meeting you as well.

Then....about 4 hours later about 4 o clock I texted her:

Hey...would like to see you before you go. Let's meet for drinks. Tonight or tomorrow?

It's been almost an hour and I haven't heard back. Was that last text a beta text...saying how I'd like to see her ( neediness)? I didn't think so....it's just frustrating to go to all the effort of getting a number and conversing and then these flakes.

I'm no pro at texting but this is what I would've sent:
hey lets go for drinks tomorrow
Or you could say tonight, which ever is best for you.
If they replied saying they can't make it with no counter offer, I'd leave it.
If they replied saying they can't, but offer another date/time, I'd pursue it.
I always have a date, time and starting venue already in my mind when I ask a girl out.

I like to send them a text within 30 minutes of getting number to solidify. Is that good? And if not "nice to meet you" what would you suggest?

Usually illicits a laugh then roll with is. Use your imagination, don't use the basic stuff, hey its x, nice meeting you, etc etc.

I'd actually text them immediately so you can verify they got it. I always do this and it works well.

Text them something like this:

"it's robreke the sexy mutherfucka u met at XYZ place"

It's funny and memorable. I've never had a chick not respond positively to it when she reads it on her phone in front of you. It gets a laugh and keeps the mood fun. It also establishes your name and where she met you.

The funny part is they usually send a text later commenting on the original text I sent, which opens up the door even wider to set up drinks.

Make sure plenty of time has passed between when you text her and she text you.

Example: if she took 3 hours to respond, take 4 hours and then text this:

"sounds like an absolute blast. hmu after"

This is you being sarcastic about her hanging with her friends, BUT leading the interaction by using a Command: "hmu after".

I'll do it...thanks. I have to admit...I'm a little hesitant about not just "commanding" the date time. ie...just texting " sounds like a blast. You and me at Table 100. 9:30." that way I'm not waiting for her to text me back after dinner tomorrow night.

I'm learning this...her last text about maybe being able to meet tomorrow night when she'll be out with friends....I'm basically going to "lead" with "cool...you and me at xyz bar" Implying that I don't want her friends there. Essentially making her choose. I know this is more high risk...as I could probably go meet her where her and her friends will be....but I basically don't want to meet her friends. Like a freaking panel review or something. Plus the cock blocking would probably be off the charts.

I agree and I did send a text along the lines of McQueen last night about 9 saying let's meet at such and such bar.

I still haven't heard back.

Thinking back about our interaction yesterday....first of all...I live in the south...Mississippi of all places. Secondly, this girl told me she works with autistic and disabled kids and she was reading a book entitled "Finding God" or some such. Point is...she's probably not like your typical Vegas or NYC party girl.

This may be the dying throes of beta in me saying this...but I think with certain girls...perhaps "true" Christian girls like she may have been....you can't be overly alpha in your texts. I mean with too much assholery. It's kind of like negging a girl with a fragile ego....the good girls who are churchgoers don't respond as much to "rough alpha" text game like the bratty party girls. Just a theory I'm throwing out.

I'm sure this comes with time in field and proper calibration. If I don't hear from her by dinner time tonight...part of me wants to text her saying "hey I'm out what's up?" and give in just to meet her out with her friends.....hey drinks with some good looking Ole Miss girls...not too bad.

Another part of me just wants to not text back at all....maybe until Sunday and ask how her weekend's going for a Sunday night hookup.....since she suggested that as an option in her earlier text

But, given all the cues of my initial meeting .......perhaps she's not the kind of girl who is dtf in a first or second date. She may be the kind you'd have to date for a bit. Thing is....she doesn't live here.
