I could realistically see my 55-60 year old self potentially seriously dating a woman in her mid twenties or early thirties. Based on this, I'd call 30 to 35 years a realistic limit for me with regard to a serious relationship. I suppose that a more extreme gap is feasible outside of the west but I haven't really thought about it. My wildest dreams/imaginations about my future serious relationships have generally been in the 30-35 year limit.

I'd go older if it was Monica Bellucci. But even beautiful women who age gracefully have the specter of old age looming over them. I can usually guess how they will probably look in a few years, at a glance.

As far as maturity goes, I personally know plenty of 20-year olds who are both smart, sexy, well-read, cultured and take great care of themselves. The problem is, they have massive dominance thresholds and require huge amounts of game (sometimes even above what I can provide after years of practice and success), which almost ensures that they will end up riding the carousel and stuck in super-alpha harems until they get old and bitter. What good is a "great" girl like that if she gives her best years to someone who is going to cheat on her all the time and possibly even beat her?

Again, if I were 60 and had the ability to attract 20-year olds, their qualities would not be an obstacle. It's not their qualities that are the problem in the first place! I suppose I should be grateful for that at least, because obesity rates are very low here compared to the anglosphere. But the much less developed country means that my potential for migrating to SA or SEA is a lot lower than for guys in the anglosphere, so everything ends up being only balanced

As far the whole statutory thing goes.. isn't it all about the two people being able to make decisions mature decisions?

If this is the case, wouldn't we be judging the two people involved on the basis of the level of their psychological maturity or intelligence?

Let's say that someone is past the the age of consent, but is not emotionally mature (or whatever it is that makes the age thing relevant), then wouldn't that count as some kind of rape?

The is an extreme example, but if someone a had sex with Rainman, wouldn't that be like molesting a child?

There seems to be a great generalizing about all this in the laws.

There are definitely people who are older than 16-17 who are complete idiots, but who get the right to vote, fight in wars, drive and do all this other stuff.

Maybe we need a different way of defining maturity in society.

You mean how much younger would I tolerate for myself? 21 year olds are flakey as fuck. I think the minimum age right now is 23 for me, and will be the same thing in 10 years or 20 years. If I am 57 and able to pull 23 years olds, good lord, i'd do it.

a 50 year age difference is just silly, because at some point your sex drive will seriously decline. Do guys in their 80s and 90s even get hard?

I'm 35, that means 35/2+7 = 24.5? I actually look maybe 25 myself and had no problem dating 21 year olds just recently.

The formula is flawed, maybe works well for older ages.
