I've never thought about it as a competition with others, simply a competition with myself.

My biggest cockblock has been myself. Not fat girls, not supermodel dudes, not A-List celebs.

If I psyche myself out with negativity or feelings of inadequacy, then I cockblock myself.

I echo the sentiments which the other Australians in this thread mention, accurate.

After travelling around, I did enjoy the feminine women, warm personalities, and positive behaviour of women overseas add to that my exotic capital working in my favour substantially, made me not miss Australia one bit. However, for the time being, I am tied here for the mid-term, but am working away to escape Australia, not for the women alone, but for the adventure.

It's fairly common to see well-dressed, well built, good looking guys fumble through a conversation with a hot girl or not even approach at all.

So for one - the competition isn't always who you'd expect.

And two - you've got to develop a trance-like focus on what you are doing. As soon as you start entertaining thoughts of "these guys are my competition. Fuck, they're dressed better than me. Fuck, I feel off today", etc., it's easy to psych yourself out.

Since becoming more aware of game, I have noticed that in my 'city' the competition is very minimal. Tons of pansy looking hipster dudes, or young college kids that are just wasted and stupid.

There are good looking, well dressed dudes, but most of them have no game.

I was out with a good friend of mine who is very good looking, great style, excellent job and he talks to girls like a nervous middle school kid! They will still talk to him because he is so good looking, but I can still out game him with my minimal skills.

I would say, in my town, if you are decent looking, decent style, good shape, then 95% of your competition is in your own head. I am my biggest cockblock, hands down. I am 95% of the reason things go south with girls that I have been attempting to get into rotation.

If you are aware of game, and have your look dialed in, its all about working on your confidence and just getting out there and doing it. Its a mathematical certainty that you will have success if you live in a place like I do without tons of competition.

In the past, if I had a great interaction with a girl, with solid attraction and built up a connection, I could call or text her next time, she would respond swiftly and agree to meet up soon. Things just naturally progressed from there. There would be flakes and so on, but the ratio was good enough to live with. Now, her brain and emotions are so over stimulated by social media that shortly after spending time with me, her attention (with associated feelings) for me has already been gone through her swiping and scrolling on Facebook and Instagram for updates and likes. That means flake after flake after flake.

In my location ( Greece ) competition among guys is enterly depend on the hottess of every girl.
To pick up 10's and 9's you need the complete package, for 8's and 7's you need game + "something" most guys
in particular age don't have (ex. i have house, car, motorbike, job, social circle which most guys lacking, my girl is a 8)
6's, 5's only game needed, ugly girls doesn't need game.

But the major problems are most places are hopless sausage fests, and my country slowly submits to american style ( most women become are fatties, few are good looking).

Also night game is dead.

I can write about my competition in the Balkans in general (where I live). I have seen a lot of good (and some bad) information here, and I hope this post will make things easier for guys who operate (or plan to operate) in that area.




I am speaking as a 8/10 guy (read: I am in shape and good looking, but I am still not a Men's Fitness model), with average game and a below average income. The latter is getting better - Ebay business is growing quickly, and my agricultural business (I am doing something which is in very high demand, and which very few people grow) will take 9 years (or so) to make a profit.




And no, I am not growing cocaine, so don't ask for some on PM.




But enough about me...let's go back to the topic, shall we ?




In the Balkans, a lot of men do not know much about Game. Most of the approaches I have witnessed can be described as ''Caveman Game'' (which only high SMV guys used) or ''Social Circle Game'' (which most guys use). Facebook has become more popular lately, and, like anywhere else, it ruins things for an average guy - a 6/10 (basic bitch) will, thanks to it, think she is a model, and will only chase top tier guys (and come to her senses when she turns 25). That is a time when most women hit the Wall here (well before it's usual time, due to cigarettes, tanning, booze...).




Most guys here are not in shape. Again, thanks to a very unhealthy food (burek, ćevapi...), cheap alcohol, cheap cigarettes and lack of gym culture, they let themselves go at relatively early age. Most of the guys I know from High School are well...unrecognizable at the age of 27.




In the gym (which relatively few guys attend), 80% (conservative estimate) do not know what they are doing!. Most of them do ''brosplits'' on machines and bench press (with a spotter, for a single improper rep!). Very few do squat, overhead press... .What is even worse, they think that they know better than you do (they say that 5X5 Stronglifts and Arnold's 5X10 are too hard, lol). I don't even bother to debate them. Most of those smart asses eventually ragequit (and lose all gains), because they wonder ''why don't I look like Hugh Jackman after 1 year (of machine based program)!?!?''.




Most guys here do not work, or work for shitty pay. Thanks to that, most do not have a property, or a car. Therefore, most of your competition is working (and fucking) in the West, or is simply too poor (and too fat) to be any real ''threat'' to you. The only ''threat'' are (1) older people with good jobs (majority) - business owners, doctors, lawyers... . They usually do not have much Game and are not that good looking, but they have money and social circles and (2) younger guys which are in shape (for now) who have some Game (Caveman usually) and strong social circles.





Guys who have money, Game and which are in shape will make a killing here. Fortunately for us, they are extremely rare.

Where I live women still think they have options until they are almost 40, which leads to a lot of frustration for them when they realize having children is a problem.

We have many gyms where I live, I would say my city has more per capita than any place I have been too. It doesn't mean anything, most guys are out of shape. If a guy is in shape then chances are he is on steroids.

Girls are getting fatter, due to the excess of bad food that can be had for cheap. Many go to the gym but most are lazy in their workouts. You have a few that go hard, but it is to the point of being neurotic (probably a fat girl before).

Slim girls with average faces think they are better looking than they are, due to the attention they probably get.

Game is a foreign concept here, I can preach to my friends all day. The first gal that comes their way they will hook-up with and hold onto for dear life.

Men here happily date women over 40, even women with kids.

It is common to hear about a woman leaving her husband and some other dude taking her and her kids on.

Online game is huge, the amount of blind dates I see is staggering.

Like a lot of places, social circle game is still probably the way most people hook-up.
Work, school, church or friend of a friend.

Money is a key factor, guys with it feel they can get any girl despite looking like shit. Throwing money at girls or showing off is big here, again this leads to more frustration when they end up getting used.

Thirst levels are high here, which leads to guys cockblocking and doing all kinds of stuff to get girls.

The only competition I see is the guy in the mirror.

Pretty much the same story here in the US Midwest.

A constant stream of validation from Social media has inflated these girls egos.

The key is just not to act thirsty. You have to truly not GAF if you come home with pussy for the night or not. It's a fine line to walk, because after all you're running game because you do care (i.e. you want to get laid) but the trick is to not exhibit that on the outside. At the end of the day it's still a numbers game. If you strike out on Friday, try again on Saturday. If you strike out 4 weekends in a row, try again on the 5th weekend. Just don't let your thirst control your happiness.

For everything I dislike about Boston, I've never had a problem scoring here. I went to college here too, and same story.
Yes, there's tons of attention seekers and validation chasers like anywhere, but it's easily mitigated by status. Boston is weird in that there's a lot of money to be made here, and if you're in the right field you'll be cleaning up. However, we don't have the same level of high rollers as say, New York City, even though I make a comparable income.

Quite honestly, myself and my social circle are really only competing with athletes, a few movie stars, and very few other wealthy alphas, and it's been this way since we started interning and really getting paid. Boston is a great example where you can be a 5%er and literally have your choice. The sheer amount of hot, educated college chicks that will fall at your feet with good frame and good logistics/venue selection makes this a paradise. I can visit my alma mater, for instance, casually make known I'm throwing a party through the remains of my social circle there, and we can get 20-25 girls all in the 7+ range into my apartment.

I will say though, many of these girls are extremely entitled, and are so frustrating to deal with that it makes me wonder sometimes. This is a great place to get laid, but if you're wife hunting I would stay clear.

Where I live, competition is super fierce. There are a ton of good looking, athletic dudes with money. To make matters worse, there has been a tech boom in my city for the last five years so the ratios have gotten really bad. However when I have a positive attitude and put in the numbers I get women. The matter of competition is exaggerated at times. Each one of us was dealt different cards in life, so it's pointless to compete against someone else who's had it much better/worse than you. We should strive to become better than the guy in the mirror, and that's the only thing that matters.

Regarding competition from other men, Irenicus covered the topic very well so I won't go into much detail. But recently I witnessed something which made me think about this. I was in a local bar with a friend. The evening wasn't a serious gaming endeavor, I just went to grab a drink and perhaps get a couple of approaches in. At one moment I decided to sit at the table the corner and observe the scene a little. What I saw at one moment was interesting - one chick I was gaming a couple of minutes ago was being pursued by a pack of guys. She was walking through the crowd - probably from the bathroom to return to her friends - and no less than three guys were chasing her, attempting to talk to her and probably wanting to get her to join them at the table.

The chick in question was moderately good looking - a 7/10 for me. She managed to shake the guys off, and later I observed them a little - they were average looking and almost chubby, had poor sense of style, crappy body language etc. And there they were, three of them jousting for the attention of merely one woman. I'm guessing they didn't have much success that night (and neither did I), but I don't think that will stop them from attempting again next weekend.

I think no one here would take those guys seriously and think of them as real competition, but that's exactly what guys like that are! They're real, meaningful competition and they do make things difficult for the rest of us. Not in the sense of gaming the chick you had your sights on and banging her before you (but even if they did that it wouldn't matter, who cares), but in the sense of artificially inflating female egos around them. Ultimately the only way to consistently beat the competition is with game and an outcome independent attitude. The best books for game are Bang and the Mystery Method. Bang is crucial for the basics. Literally 70% of my hook ups came after reading Bang.
