This has worked for me meeting a couple girls on the tram. Their always on their phone and I just say, "Are you addicted?" The english and the question kind of throws them off guard at first, but then they get a little sheepish, a little defensive, and then start trying to qualify themselves to me to let me know, "They're not one of those girls".
